  1. Happy 53rd Birthday Chef Russ!

  2. Hey Russ, I am being banded by Dr. Kuri also in TJ on the 21st...Hopefully everything will go well and we will see each other here often.

  3. hey man, how have you been ?

  4. I have a date in Mexico for LB on March 20th. I paying out of pocket. So cost is part of my decision. I've been doing a lot reading on OH and this website. Every turn I run into someone bashing one Dr or another, one procedure or another. I'm completely lost tonight. Help. I think? I I I don't know. :rose:
  5. Hey Russ,

Finding a Dr. to do my fills really wasn't had at all. I went to Dr. Kuri in Tijuana for my surgery and he actually had a list of doctors in Florida. The one they had listed for me is only about 45 minutes away. The first fill was $440 which included a fee to join their group as a non-surgical patient. The fills after that will be $150 a fill so not to bad. Even though Dr. Kuri does fills for free in TJ between taking the time off from work and the airline travel to TJ it just is cheaper to go to the Doc in Ft. Lauderdale. Keep in touch and wish you the best!

  6. You hang in there! Congrats on making the decision to do this! Sounds like you are on your way! Good luck!

Good lucK Carol....Just signed up with Dr Kuri. Hoping to set the date in the next few for March 20th
  8. congrats, sounds like your on your way to a new you !, I take a G2 Gatorade with me everywhere I go now, you can have anything cabonated because your new stomach wont be able to handle the gas from it, same with white bread, rice etc, anything that expands... along with my fav DO-NUTS !! but the way I figure it is those are part of the things that made me so fat to begin with so I figure I will live the second half of my life eating things that are good for me and help me lose weight instead of gaining it !

  9. Thanks my man. Been sober 2 years. I've lived on diet AW root beer since. at least 2 ltr per day. Talking to the Dr Office today about the date. march 20th. Guess i better switch to water sooner than later.

  10. Hey Pete, Talking to JoeAnn about March 20th. I live in Sacramento Area. Just wondering how hard it was to find a Dr. to get your fills from. Are they cool about taking care of you though you had your surgery in Mexico. How much is the Dr. charging you for fills???

  11. best advice I can give you is get off caffiene and pop ( soda if your from the south ) now because they are not good for you and you cant have pop once you are banded... this is a hard one but so worth it, if my eyes were open I had a mt dew in my hand and when I slept I had a mt dew IV in so trust me when I say I know how hard this one is.. but now on this side of the band I dont miss it... another good habit to get into now is chewing your food... when you think yuo have chewed it up good chew it up again... this is a painful lesson to learn once you are banded so learn it now :) good luck !

  12. Me 10 yrs ago. Ran 30 miles a week. Had women in my life. Surfed 2 times a week. Walked 18 holes once a week. Backpacked all over the Sierra. Too heavy to even walk around the block right now. Uggg. Surgery March 20th 2009
