ok here goes..i don't know what is wrong i have 9ccs in a 10cc band...when i went to doctors they said most people have restriction at 6.5 to 7.5cc's they did not want to fill me, but like i said i keep gaining weight. anyway to make things worse they told how to eat again (DUH!). I know that, then they proceeded to tell me how to diet to lose weight. I am sorry i got this band so i would not have to go hungry and diet. it has been2 years and i am so disappointed. it did work the first year lost 40 pounds, gave alot of cholthes away now buying fat clothes back.......anyone else have this????? should i try to go to the doctors again????? i have no restriction at all can eat everything and i mean everything! thanks for listening!

My husband and I travel alot, I was so embarrassed when on our last trip before surgery, I could not get the belt around me.........how devastating......came home from vacation made doctors appointment and 7 months later had surgery. 4 months later next plane trip no extender.....SO TRUST ME I DO KNOW HOW YOU FEEL..........SO GOOD. -

Hi everyone, I had my surgery over a year ago...lost 50 pounds, but for the last 4 months have gained and lost the same 5 pounds countless times. Let me give you a quick history. been filled about 6 times, but completely unfilled twice do to once have got spinach suck (unfilled for 6 weeks) - then just filled to much and so swollen they unfilled me again for a month. (they tryed taking soome out, but did not work had to do the whole thing again) After everytime they slowing stat to fill me again. Now for problem: I was filled last Wednesday, just 2 days ago I started where I can not get anything down (Water Ok slow going, but going down).. Keep belching...miserable. I just do not want to get unfilled again finally under 200 again. So question do you think I could just be swollen and how long does it usually take to go down??? Thanks for any help.

Hi Nina, First off good luck on your surgery! I did not have Dr Eid, but had Dr Ramanathan....I think they are all in the same group at Mckee. I was on liquids for 5 day before surgery. It has been 10 months and lost 50 pounds....It has been a good thing. Good luck let me know how you do. Sandi

That is a really good question. My band will be 1 year old in april and i was thinking the same thing... Anyone?????

Hi, After surgery, about 6 weeks in sometime later or earlier, the doctor will fill your band slowly, so you are not so hungry, but what happens is if they put to much in you can not eat or even get Water down then they must unfill a few cc's....but most of the time it is a hit or miss till you get to the sweet spot where you are happy with just a little food...until you get to the sweet spot they will add cc's. It is kind of hit and miss for each patient is different. Hope that helps a little...Good luck on your surgery.

Thanks Vicki, I go back in on Monday....right now on liquids and yogurt...protein drinks. Funny I can not get the Protein drink to go down unless I warm it up, but did get down 2 popcicles, 1 container of yogurt, so things are looking up in that. Last night I coughed all night, we will see what to night brings. Can not wait to go back in Monday, they wanted me today, but big snow storm, so Monday it is. Let me know how you are doing. Thanks, Sandi
