Thank you all for you help. It's been such a rough road and yes I think my husband knows that as long as I'm fat no one even glances my way and I think maybe he was thinking all crazy and that maybe, just maybe I might get a look from someone else or something. Crazy is what it is, I mean he gets up every day, puts on his tight jeans, nice clothes, sprays his cologne and yes, he looks nice and I know how many looks he gets but I wouldn't want to take that from him because I know it makes a person feel good, so why would he not want me to feel good. We live in Kentucky or very close to Tennessee, (Nashville) if that helps anyone with Doctor locations. I have never been so consumed with anything in my life. I promise you I'm one of those people who eat very little, I know well how can you be fat, well, I can't do a whole lot because of the fat and all of the disc problems but really I don't and a few days ago we went to K.F.C. and my husband ordered us both buffet because we had never tried it. I was never so embarrassed in my life as to walk up to that buffet and try to get food on my plate as I was sure EVERYONE was saying, "Oh my God, she really needs the buffet", that is why mentally, I've got to get rid of this it is controlling my life. I've asked this a couple of times, would someone tell me please, If I have this done in Mexico, what do I do for a Doctor is something goes wrong or for check ups and weigh ins. This is the only question I don't seem to have an answer for yet. Please help. Sherri

Sorry everyone for all of these questions but I hope to be banded soon and I rely on you guys for info. You all are so intelligent, supportive and I feel like we're all family. I just wanted to know if a couple of you would tell me what your pre op consisted of and a little runby of your 2 weeks before surgery so I'll know a little bit of what to expect. OMG, I wasn't aware I would have to have a catherder. How many of you had to have a catherder. Please, I had one once and it hurt sooooo bad.

As from my last few posts everyone probably remembers me. I'm the one whose insurance is suppose to cover but then I find out will probably have to go on a 6 month diet first. Here's the thing. My physician referred me 2 weeks ago to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tn. They sent in all of my files and two weeks have went by and nothing. They still haven't called my doctor back yet with an appointment. I know how many months all of the preop stuff can take and I can't even seem to get a leg in the front door. It's making me very emotional and wanting to give up but I can't do that, this can change my life. Then I get to thinking about it took years to get fat and give it years to loose. Then I get to thinking, even if they're going to pay, (and I'm not a real patient person) should I just go to Mexico, then I read where if you do that there's no follow up. What do I do? I just can't seem to get anywhere and feel I'm just going in circles. Thanks everyone, Sherri:help:

Marianne, did you have yours done there. I just emailed them and ask them what I could do to possibly get an appointment. I emailed the Vandy Biatric Group. Is that the right thing to do and do you have any more suggestions. If you had yours there what was there pre op stuff. Thank you very much for your help, everyone.

Thanks for your help. I know I should probably wait but why won't they call my physician back with an appointment. Can it possibly take 2 weeks to go over my files and schedule me? Did you know we are close to the same weight and are the same height. I'm 41. Just thought that was pretty cool. Thanks again for your help. Sherri

Has any one heard of this or had to have this done. A friend of mine has had her testing done for pre-op and I'm still waiting to be banded but she said she had to have a colonscopy (sp) before being banded. I wasn't looking forward to this. Did everyone else have to have this done? Thanks everyone, Can't wait to get my band, Sherri:help:

Sorry to keep asking so many questions but I really need your help. My reg. doc has referred me for the lap band and I have a 40.4 B.M.I. and Anthem is suppose to take care of this according to the lap band doc but who do I get to write to the insurance company, my regular physician or the lap band doc and do I go see the lap band doc first or do I do this before I go. Okay, I guess I was just being a crybaby about having to wait the 6 months. You guys are so sweet and caring and really know what your talking about. I just am in a lot of pain. I've had 3rd degree burns completely on both legs and a disc removed in my neck and a heel spur removed in my foot in the last 3 years. I have to take loritab everyday just to be able to exist and I guess maybe that will also give me time to try to shed a few pounds first and maybe get off of this horrible medicine I take. It makes me feel bad enough all own it's own. I guess 6 weeks and them paying for it all but 800.00 is better than me going to Monterrey and paying 10,000.00. Thank you all for your support. Hi, I'm new here and I was just reading your post. I too live in Kentucky and I have Anthem which is BCBS Anthem. Do you think they will approve me? I didn't know if it was the same or not. If insurance won't cover I'm going to Mexico. Does my doctor call my insurance or do I. Hope you can help me, Thanks in advance, Sherri in Kentucky
