10 CC band- How many CCs to get restriction?
beachgirl replied to Leona06's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have the 9.75 band and Dr. Sanchez says the most it will hold is 4cc. Don't know if this will help you or not. I have no fill yet but I can't eat over 3-4 oz. Is there anyway you can have some restriction without fill and just the band? I sure feel it. -
Okay, I did the puddings last night and I did the tuna with f/f salad dressing in the blender very thin and for the first day since surgery 8 days ago I didn't loose a pound. Oh well. I knew it would stop. I eat over 500 calories yesterday and got up hungry for the first time today. I tried the runny oats in the blender but I could only eat about 1 1/2 oz and I was full. Hope everyone is doing great. I can't wait to see Dr. Curry to see how everything is doing. My scars look great and yeahhhhhh laptop finally arrived. I thought I would go crazy on that office computer. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Telly, Photo and Amy, I'm not purposely getting in that low of calories it's like you said on liquids it is almost impossible. I will try the puddings and stuff tonight but I'm petrified of that pb'ing. I mean I sit and worry about it. Did you guys feel your port right off. Mine just seems so close to the surface but I still have some swelling. I'm just a worrywart I know, everyone has done told me that once. LOL I'm walking about 1 mile a day and trying to up it but it has hit 100 everyday since I have been home. Time to get on the treadmill I guess because it will be cooler I had just rather be outside. Thanks for your help, Love you guys,

He done mine July 10, 2006 one week ago today. He is fabulous. That's all I can say and so is alma, Marlene and all of his staff. You'll be so proud you picked him. Please tell him Sherri said hi when you see him and tell him I'm doing great. Good luck and you'll do wonderful. You won't believe how easy it is.

I had the same thing with my right heel. I had 5 cortisone shots in my heal, wore the inserts, then the exercises, then the stretches, painpills, then finally surgery to take it out. It's never came back and I was only in a cast for 2 weeks it feels wonderful. Now, 1 week after being banded my left is doing the same thing. I dread another surgery but I will not waste my time and money this time, if it doesn't let up I will have it surgically removed. Good luck and hope it gets better soon, they are sooooo painful.

OMG, I am so afraid of that. Just one week banded and that is my biggest fear. I still everyone once in a while when I need to burp get this tight sensation across my chest. Scary as hell I bet. Dread the day it happens. Hope your feeling better soon. -
Hi everyone, Since I've been home it's a week today, down 19 pounds in 3 weeks and 7 1/2 pounds since surgery. I bought the expensive W.W. digital scale and everyday it's down about 1.2 - 1.4 pounds. My question is since today we can do puddings would you do puddings or stay a few more days on the liquid to keep up the weight loss. I'm getting about 300 to 400 calories a day and I know when I step it up it will stop. Just wanted an experienced bandster's feelings on this. Should get laptop today it has shipped, I sure miss talking to everyone. Hi Telly, looking goooooooooodddddddddddddd.

Hi everyone, Yes, I"M BANDED!!!!!!!!!!! I got home yesterday but only to find my Gateway laptop (1800.00 laptop that is) had an accident while I was gone. My 18 year old son says a monster came and broke the liquid plasma screen. Now we have monsters. So now I'm having to sit in the office on ole faithful. Just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts and Vera's call, that was sweet. Mexico was everything I thought and more. The hospitals and guest house were wonderful. I could never ever ever say enough about how wonderful Dr. Sanchez's team is. They are top notch. He is the kindest most caring thing and Dr. Rod and Suzanne and alma is fabulous and Marlene and Mario, well all of them. If any of you have any reservations, dont. I've been banded since Monday and today as soon as I got up I felt 90 %. I walked, I did my liquids and I feel great. The hardest thing I'm having to get use to is the small sips, it is easy to forget. I got a little bit hungry yesterday. We had flown all day and my husband took me in there for the broth off of the Soup and just seeing those muffins made me hungry. So, the band is there but the mental stuff is very much still there. I haven't suffered yet from the gas, hope I dont and my incisions look great. Is it normal to get a little tummy hunger, down low? Yesterday I eat 2 of the 1 oz. jellos, sugarfree, and drank liquids and had about 3 oz. of broth but I did get a little bit hungry. Of course, I know there's no fill yet. Amy and me and Tracey had a wonderful time. I now how two wonderful new friends. Amy's a hoot, believe me. LOL Her husband Rob is very sweet. I guess I'll go drink some more Water and try to find out what to do about my laptop. Does anyone know if they can replace the lid or am I going to have to buy whole new laptop? Love you guys, Sherri Guess I need to change my signature now.

Thank you Penni, You hit it, too big of bites and I didn't know to try to swallow puddings. It was filling like I was too full and I had only eat 1/2 of one of those little pudding things but I guess I'm going to have to get use to little bites. Plus, it's been 5 full days and I really don't think the swelling is all gone yet because when I sip my broth, no problems at all. Thanks again for your help, Sherri
-
Telly you look awesome, I had to turn my husband to quit gaulking. You do look great. Amy, I tried the pudding today and it didn't work. It made that tightness in my chest and stuff like right after surgery. I guess I'll try another week of fluids. Only thing is you can only get about 400 calories a day of fluids and then our bodies will go into starvation. Oh pooh, what's a person to do. I also called Tracy tonight but didn't get ahold of her. I also called your cell tonight but didn't get you either. Talk to you later

I'm still too sore to take a picture of mine but I will in a few days. It's so cute. It's flipper and I keep him close to my ummmmmm privates. LOL

OMG, I was banded Mon. too and am having the exact same thing.

Hey girl, Hadn't heard from you and was just wondering how you were doing. I can't believe how good I feel. I'm afraid I'm going to jinz myself. Yesterday I did laundry, walked the dog, dishes and the whole nine yards. Went to a barbeque tonight and took my chicken broth with me. I am though starting to get a little bit hungry at times. I have only lost one pound in 3 days and only eating 400 calories or drinking I should say. I never did get the shoulder pain and for sleep I'm taking the phenergran tablets and they do wonders. Let me know how your doing. My son dropped my laptop while we were gone so we took it to the shop yesterday and they said it would be at least 800.00 and I gave 1800.00 for it so I didn't want to just pitch it so dh ordered me another online tonight from sam's so in a couple of days I'll be online more. I don't like this office chair and I am spoiled by the laptop so I'm not on here but about 5 min. and I'm done. How was your flight? We got to Houston and by the time we got through customs they were shutting the doors on our connecting flight. The min. we buckled our seats we were in the air. wheewwww Let me know how your doing. Was getting worried about you.

I've just been banded for 5 days today so I don't know the answers yet but I do want to tell you that I was scared to death. There is nothing to be afraid of. I woke up and I told the doctor, "Why didn't you put the band in, I really did think they had. I was very sore first night, but had none of the shoulder pain and now in 4 days I was doing laundry, dishes, walking the dog and feeling great. You'll love it. Congrats.
-
Congrats, I am so proud for you. We've been banded the same week. I didn't have any shoulder pain but did have the port pain. Hope your doing great.

I know you don't need the fluroscopy but have it if needed. When we were having our meeting after surgery, alma said to guarantee everything for the future in case of problems with the first fill I'm suppose to have the fluroscopy done. I have an appt with you in 4 weeks. Can I just pay extra or something and have it done that way? Just wondering because I would sure like to use you as my after care doctor for sure. Thanks in advance, Sherri Smith

Your right on the computer screen. My husband took it this afternoon and they said 800.00 plus. I'm going to kill my 18 yr old baby of a son. He's 6'9" and thinks mama can't handle him. ha Thanks so much for the call Vera, it was very sweet, and yes, I've never been kissed that many times by my husband of 25 years. LOL Dr. Sanchez give me a hug and then he kissed me on the forehead min. before surgery. He's a doll. alma, is precious and beautiful. They were all wonderful.

Dr. prescribed diet before surgery..?
beachgirl replied to msbrookins's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Dr. Sanchez didn't require us to have one but I thought I would try one anyway but had to quit, I got to weak. So Amy and us went out to steakhouse in Monterrey night before surgery, everything went fine. He did say I had some fat on my liver but it was normal size. -
I just got mine so I'm no expert, but mine can only hold 4 cc and it's a 9.75 inamed. Hope that helps some. I don't get my first fill for 5 weeks.
-
Okay everyone, My official weigh in on my papers before surgery was 262, today 4 days post op I'm at 250.8. Water weight I guess, but I'm drinking water, broth and s/f popsicles.

Hi everyone, I'm home and doing great. It's not bad at all. The first 24 I was very sore, port pain, but after that lot's better. Today I went walking as soon as I got up. Good luck to everyone that has had surgery and everyone getting ready. Amy and I also were there together and had such a wonderful time. We all went out to eat the night before surgery with our hubbies and Tracey and had a blast. Amy when you read this I already miss you. Sherri

We are leaving for Nashville, Tn. to the airport and then off to Houston, then Monterrey. Just wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and please remember myself and Amy on Monday. We'll get you some news back as soon as one of us get ahold of computer. LOL I am suffering from bad, bad upset stomach, hope it's just nerves. Also wanted to tell everyone something funny. I met with DD and DH for lunch today and my daughter went back to work at the hospital so I went and bought her a birthday card and went to back and got her cash (her favorite thing). Her birthday is the 14th but I wanted to give it to her in case she needed it today. Anyhow, she called me after she opened it and said "Mom, do you know what you wrote in my card"? I said yes why, she said "I don't think you do" so I said why and she said "you wrote you are a wonderful daughter, we love you very much and hope you have a wonderful surgery" SURGERY OMG where is my mind. Anyways, everyone at the hospital got a kick out of it. I guess I'm more worried than I thought. Love all of you guys, Sherri
