OMG, Margo, your weight loss is fabulous. I'll be so glad when I can say I've lost 80 lbs. I'm so proud for you. Keep up the wonderful work. Sarah, When you get done with your toes mine need it too. LOL Didn't you just love Dr. Sanchez, he's a sweetie pie.

Dody, why can't you take loritab or something. I am on it since my neck surgery and I have 2 more ruptured discs in my lower back and my Doctor in Mexico told me I could continue taking it that it would not hurt my band. I was taking 4 a day but since some weight loss I now take 1 to 1 1/2 per day if I need it. I've got 5 bottles of the liquid loritab but I couldn't take it, nasty tasting. I just thought it might help you, I don't know. Hope your feeling better soon, pain can be so hard on you, I understand completely. Let me know how you get to feeling.

Diane, I sure will remember you in my prayers and thoughts. I had a lot to happen to me in the past couple of years and that's when I gained all of my weight. So be proud of yourself for at least not gaining and then losing on top of that. I know it seems irrevalent at this point but once you get better you will be so proud of yourself. Always remember it God can bring you to it he can bring you through it. I had someone tell me that after I received 3rd degree burns and thought my world had ended but he did bring me through it. We will all be thinking of you and sending you hugs.

You'll do just great and I agree, I would take some me time tomorrow and just relax. I got one heparin shot right before surgery in my arm but that was it. Make sure and walk walk sip sip and you'll do fine. Best of luck,
-
Welcome Vince and Congrats on your new band. The only advice I can give is make sure you walk alot and the gasses will leave in a couple of days. Make sure and take little sips as well. I had forgotten and the first sip I took was a normal size and it hurt. Take care and welcome to Bandland.

I wish you the very best and a speedy recovery and you'll do great. Congrats and take it easy other than walking after surgery and be patient. Sherri

I'm 11 days postop and I still seem to be a tad bit swollen but I can also fit into shirts I couldn't wear at surgery time if that makes any sense. The really big swelling went down after about day 4 it seems like.
-
I'm only 11 days postop but I was wondering, do you have arthritis or high cholesterol or pre diabetes or joint pain or something because usually with 2 comorbities they will cover the under 40 BMI and you wouldn't have to gain the extra pounds just to have to loose again. I went through the same thing with bc/bs but I didn't want to jump the all of the hoops and I was going to have to go through 6 months of dieting so I did the self pay in Mexico. Best of luck and it will all work out. So far I'm very pleased but like I said I'm just 11 days postop.

Dongrats Emily, That is absolutely fabulous. You should be sooooooooooo proud of yourself. 100 pounds Can you really picture how much that is. I wished I had lost 100 pounds but I'm so proud you have. Amy, I am feeling good, hope your cold gets better fast. Please give me some ideals of something to eat besides broth and pudding, I'm ready to pull my hair out. LOL

Marc, I just wanted to say welcome and you will be so pleased with your band. I do not judge anyone, color, religion, sexual preference etc. and anytime you want someone to talk to you feel free to pm me or email me. I admire your honesty and we all have things in our lives we need to overcome. I have had my band for 10 days so I'm not an experienced bandster yet but you will do great so don't worry and every day your banded is a day with a new tool to defeat this problem. Hugs and prayers your way, Sherri

What do I do with all these feelings?
beachgirl replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You are going to be great. I posted and posted on here how I was scared they'd open me up to do the band and couldn't because I had something wrong (my mom has cancer) and then I thought I start bleeding and wouldn't know it and all kinds of stuff. Don't worry yourself. It takes less than an hour and about an hour and 1/2 in recovery and the pain isn't bad at all and they give you stuff for pain. Just try to think of all the stuff you'll finally be able to do. The pretty clothes your going to buy. I promise you it will be fine. I worried enough for 3 people and there was no need in it whatsoever and I went to Mexico. Just trust in your heart that God is going to bring you through it, have faith in your surgeon and his team. I'm sending you hugs and prayers and you'll be just fine. -
Okay, Need your opinions again. My port feels like it is sticking out. I mean it's not sore very much and my incision looks almost like it's not there, (I'll post a pic when dh gets home and takes it) but I mean it looks to me like it's sticking out. Did any of yours do this. I'm eating more now. Still just puddings and yogurts but lots more, weight loss has stopped but I got a good head start and love your recipe p'nut, thanks. I don't know when I'll get the guts to eat real food, I have this thing about pbing and I'm petrified. I'm sure I'll get over it, just wondered about my port.
-
P'nut, Thanks so much for the recipe, it is gooooooodddddd. I haven't lost a pound in 2 days since I started eating more but I feel like Tony the Tiger, greatttttttttttttttttttt. It sure did help. Your a doll. I ask this once but didn't get an answer. Why is my port feel like it is sticking out. It's not very sore but to me if I loose weight it's going to stick out. Did any of yours do this or do I have a retarded port. Love you guys, Sherri

Okay Amy, Put me down for 9.4 pounds for the week. It stopped 2 days ago when I started eating more. Oh well, I will take what I can get. 243.4 now.
-
Okay, Been banded almost 6 days and they said on week 2 I could try some s/f pudding and both times I've tried it I get this pressure in my chest like I'm too full and some burning. Do you think I should just stay on the liquids a few more days? I have no clue what to do and I didn't want to call Dr. Sanchez on something so small. Thanks for your help It doesn't do it until the pudding.

I weighed 249.4 at surgery time. He didn't require a preop diet mainly because Dr. Sanchez said I was the 6661 band he has done. Been doing them for almost 12 years. I was less scared there than any of the 3 surgeries here and they did do preop testing. I had NO shoulder pain whatsoever and day 4 did 4 loads of laundry, dishes, made beds, swept, vacumned, and walked and then went shopping for a bed. I feel great and have absolutely no regrets. Before surgery you should shop around just like anything else and I went to 2 major University Hospitals in Tennessee and one in Paducah and the 3 combined hadn't done 200. That was all I needed to know. -
I started using my granddaughter's (9months) and it seems to be helping. I am still a little concerned you can tell my stomach isn't swelled like it was but I still can't eat over 3 ounces or so and I'm so full and if I eat more I can feel it backing up. It that restriction. I don't have any fill so can't imagine it being restriction.

Hi there Tearby, I think you've done wonderfully. Just try not to expect so much. It will all be gone in no time you can tell by how you've already been losing. When they hit that sweet spot it will all start coming off again. Just keep your chin up. I think that positive thinking helps about as well as anything.
-
Once you get there everything happens so fast. Once I got to the hospital within one hour I was in surgery. You'll do great. Let us know how everything goes.
-
Congrats on your band, you will love it. I had that as well. I never had any shoulder pain but I did have the pressure on my chest and I walked and walked and walked. It does help. I felt like I needed to burp but couldn't, but it gets better by day 3 you should feel very good. Make sure and sip, I was taking too big of drinks and I still can only eat about 2-3 ounces at a time of mushies and that's IT. So don't try to overeat. Best of luck and hope you feel better soon.
-
That's what I have too. Is it unusual to have this one. I weigh 243 and am 5'7 1/2. I've just had mine for 8 days but no fill yet.
-
I've done lost 11, yipee. Does pre-op diet count. I'm at 243 right now and was at 255 July 4th.
