I am only banded 16 days but I feel wonderful and have since day 4. I would imagine that losing some of the 115 pounds you say you need to loose would only boost your energy, make your job so much easier. I've only lost 21 pounds and you can't believe the difference. I know that the problem rate is very low for problems so I don't know what you mean by that. I'll bet that 99 % of everyone on here would do it again. Good luck on your decision.

Congrats Gentry, Yeah, the only pain I had was port pain too. I never had any on the shoulder pain and I'm proud too. My doctor gave me 5 big bottles of the liquid loritab with a refill of 5 and I used about 1/2 of one and went back to the pills. I take the loritab 10's if I need one and break it in half. I couldn't choke down that liquid. yuckkkkkkk Sip don't take large drinks that was my biggest deal breaker. I would be thirsty and use to drinking big drinks and would forget. I think the walking saved my life. I walked and walked and at day 4 was vacuming, sweeping, laundry, dishes, everything and at day 12 was out riding 4wheelers and just very active. I think the walking is the key. Good luck and you'll be losing like crazy. The liquids were hard for me but enjoy them because now that I can eat the weight loss has slowed down.

My doctor told me and it was on my post op instructions to weight at least 4 weeks. We had just had a pool installed 5 days before surgery and it's killing me. It's only been 2 weeks. So, I just go out there and look at it. LOL

One more pound. It was 2 pounds but one crept back up on the scales this morning. Should have just kept last night, (actually 1 this morning)reading but ole no, I had to weigh this morning. LOL Oh well, 242, from 262 so I guess just 20 pounds in the last 3 weeks. Come on weight loss, be my friend.

Girl, You can do this and in a couple of weeks you will be like, that was soooo easy. I had no idea how quick the time would fly by and look at all the weight I've lost. You'll be passing us all by and giving us advice. Good luck and we will all be here for you in whatever you need.

Well, Only down 1 more pound, was 2 but one crept back up this morning. So, 242 for me this morning. I think it's 20 pound loss so far.

I just can't wait. What is the count on how many of us are going do you know yet? Amy and I had so much fun getting to know each other in Mexico so I'm so looking forward for myself and dh getting to see Amy and Rob again and so looking forward to seeing pnut get drunk, LOL and looking so forward to meeting every single one of you. We have such a bond with each other, and going through all of the same trials. God Bless each one of you and I hope when you see me in a year I'm lots smaller.

It would be fun for me because I have never been to Louisiana but have always wanted to go there and after the storm I volunteered to come there and help but they wouldn't let me because noone could get through at that time. I've been banded like I said for 2 weeks, and go for my first fill at 5 weeks. I'm looking forward to it but I'm so scared of that pbing that I almost didn't call for my fill but I know I'll have to have it to loose weight. I've lost 21 pounds in the last 3 weeks and still have some restriction. I had lots after surgery but I can tell everyday that it gets less and less. You can tell where mine is very easily because my port scar is like 2 inches and the other ones are like 1/4 in. Mine is on my left side about 2 in. above my navel but like straight down under my left booby. Hope your doing great,

I was banded on July 10th and get my first fill on Aug. 15. They had me scheduled on Aug. 8th but I was just afraid that was too soon. Hope your doing great.

Congrats JMO, Your a little bandster!!!!!!!!!!! I just wanted to say, it's been 2 weeks since I was banded and so far so good. I keep my fingers crossed so I don't jinz myself. I'm down 21 pounds in the last 3 weeks and couldn't be prouder. I feel great as well. I can eat alot more stuff now which is great but I don't dare eat anything I'm not suppose to because I'm soooooo scared of that pb'ing everyone talks about. Hope everyone is doing great and having a great weight loss month. I was out 4 wheeling 12 days post op all day long, mowing the yard and even on the tractor on our farm. Well, for one thing I don't think you should keep beating yourself up over this. I too had to self pay and I hated draining our savings for something I caused but you just have to go on. You CAN'T live in the past. You need to do this and you will loose and that alone will save you thousands of dollars in healthcare that you would have had to pay for stuff going wrong because of your weigh issues. You will also be shocked at how much money you will save in food. I can't believe the difference in cokes alone. LOL It is a lot of money but when you compare it to your life it's nothing. New car maybe, they tear up, new garage, they get all cluttered up, nothing can compare. Forgive yourself and move on, You owe that to yourself,

I had mine done there 2 weeks ago and feel wonderful. I've lost 21 pounds and lots of inches. Dr. Rodolfo Sanchez done mine in Monterrey Mexico and he is absolutely fabulous. He's done more than 6600 of them I know for a fact. You will do fine. There were three of us that day and Funny is one of them and she is doing great and losing. I don't know where your having it or who is doing it but Mexico is fabulous and you will love it.

I cried thorugh it, don't even know him but I'm so proud of him. My son is meeting Friday night with his recruiter. I at first told him NO, he could not, I would not hear of it, he's 6'8" and I was just not ready to loose my baby boy, but, after much consideration, I told him I could not keep him from doing in his heart what he thought was right and to defend his country. I've done cried a bunch but I'm afraid that it's just beginning. You have a gorgeous son and I know how proud you must be. Tell him that a lady in Kentucky said Thank you for defending my freedom.

Now I know everything I ever wandered about flies and peeing. I have laughed my tail off. You guys are hilarious. LOL

My doctor had me scheduled for a fill at 4 weeks, Dr. Curry, he is so sweet, but I called today and got it for 5 weeks and one day. I'm 2 weeks postop today and have lost 21 pounds. I weighed this morning and had lost 3 more but I still thank the lord have plenty of restriction. I can only eat 1/2 cup 3 times a day and thats it. It scares me because I am afraid when it stops it will stop and I'll have a hard time. I guess time will tell.

I could sleep on my right side after surgery but where my port is on my left side it was almost a week and then I would lay a pillow under there and that helped a lot. I have never been a stomach sleeper so I don't even do that.

I have had neck and back surgeries and I still have 2 more herniated,L5&6, and I was just banded 2 weeks ago today. The only concern they had is all of the metal in my neck and wondering if they could inibate with not much neck movement but I was fine. The pain is horrid but at least I have a doctor who doesn't mind prescribing the pain meds I need, some doctors think you're going to sell them or something and won't prescribe them. My prayers are with her because I know what she's going through. Good luck and God Bless,

I agree with Amy, We were up walking and didn't stop an hour after surgery. I rode 4 wheelers all day yesterday and mowed the entire yard and I feel wonderful. Just don't over do it the first couple of days but I haven't been down as long with this as I was with the flu by no means. Good luck,

I'm 13 days post op and today I mowed the entire yard, then got on the tractor and helped my husband pull up trees and drag them off and then got on the 4 wheeler and went riding for hours. I'm so proud of myself. I've lost over 20 pounds in the last 3 weeks and lots of inches and it feels so good to do something besides sit in the recliner or lay on the couch. I can't wait to loose more weight. Didn't want to sound bragging but after 3rd degree burns, neck surgery, foot surgery and being fat for 5 years and just existing and that's it I am finally among the living. Hope this continues and I don't backslide. Thank you all for your encouragement it has been so helpful and for all of the wonderful birthday wishes yesterday. Lord, I'm 42, I'm getting old quick. LOL My husband bought me a 1 carat solitare diamond ring for my birthday, he really seems so proud I had this done. He was really against it at first but he see's I'm really trying and he's been so supportive since we got back from Mexico. Love you all, I know that the hard times are ahead, but we have to enjoy the good times while the very little times they exist.

P'nut You crack me up. I was reading about the wine today and laughed my butt off. Well, not off, it's still pretty big back there. Are you going on the cruise, if so, I want you as a drinking buddy.
