  1. We were having a large garage built and they threw all of the scrap into one big huge pile about 15 feet wide and 10 feet tall. I wanted to save my husband the trouble of burning it so I got a gas can that said diesel on it which our tractor uses and I climbed all over the pile pouring the whole 5 gallons on it. I lit it and it was gasoline I had just poured everywhere. It blew up and rocked the whole subdivision, everyone was running outside to see what had happened. It threw me 33 feet when the ambulance arrived and I was on fire bad. I stopped, dropped and rolled, (see I did pay attention in school) and put it out but all of my skin just dripped off. I couldn't even walk for months. This was 3 years ago and when my weight problem started.

    Enema anyone?

No, I didn't have to either. It might help I don't know. The only thing I had to do was bloodwork one hour before surgery and that was all of the preop I done period.

    Piercings?

I had my belly button pierced about 8 years ago and it doesn't hurt at all. I also have one tattoo that I'm very proud of. Now, my 18 yr. old son, let's see. He has his tongue pierced, both ears, several times, 4 tattoo's and want's his NIPPLES pierced, please. No, your belly button really doesn't hurt and he said his tongue didn't either. He talked a tad bit funny the first day, that's how I found out about it but he ate regularly. He now has his ears gauged with big ole holes. I love my belly button ring. Try it you'll like it.

So it's been a bad day.

Everyone in my family but myself and dh have a stomach virus. Our help at the store has been calling in sick right and left, so maybe that's what is wrong. I wouldn't worry until you have something to worry about.

Amy, I hear you on the can eat anything and everything. My fill was scheduled for Aug.15 which would have been almost 5 weeks but I called today and got it for one week from today. That will be 2 days shy of 4 weeks but I don't want to quit losing or God forbid gain some of that weight back. That would suck. I'll let you know how things go with my fill.

    Compliment Chain

BigPaul always makes me feel really good about myself. He's funny and silly but really smart right when you need him to be. DeLarla TellyMelly keeps me motivated on days I think I want to slack and theres always a smile on my face when I'm talking to her, she just keeps me laughing. She brightens my day! Cutiern reminds me of my daughter. I love how she is young, independent, and willing to make financial sacrifices to change her life. Dawg is a great husband. Selfless and supportive. He lives a banded lifestyle, without the band, so that he may succeed along side his wife. Pennie always seems so level-headed and diplomatic. I really admire that. Jack cracks me up with the use of his warped sense of humour in the manner in which he offers practical advice. Humour and practicalilty...great match and I always appreciate his input. (I also like his avatar!!) The best me (Kathy) has one of the most loving and tender hearts I've ever seen. She is always caring and giving to others even when she's needing support for herself. Her love of God and her desire to be a better servant shows in every post. Paula is my sweet Band-daughter and I'm so proud of how genuinely sweet she is and how her caring heart and love of God shows by her actions towards all others Iluvharleys has a good heart and is always so thoughtful, kind and caring always thinking of others in their time of need. NJChick (Eileen) Cracks me up!!!! She brings a smile to my face no matter what the topic. Bandland would be a boring place without her : - ) VinesQueen reminds me never to give up no matter how bad things seem at the time and encourages me that I should dance my heart out no matter whos watching~and I wish she would hurry up and get back on LBT!!! Michelle, without a doubt the most inspirational person to me. Even while having her own family problems, she finds time to come here and offer her help. She's a great person! Susan (PhotoNut) is one of the most supportive and knowledgeable people I've ever known. EmileeKaye is the sweetest, most genuinely nice and wholehearted bandster and online personality I have ever met.. and I have met quite a few. The sun shines on her goodness and it feels really nice to surround myself with people like this. K@t has been my friend and support since the moment I joined this group. She listens and gives without asking in return and makes me feel anything is possible. Vinesqueen is an absolute treasure. She has the most amazing ability to be enviably strong yet human, in the face of outstanding challenges. She always takes time to remind that's it's health first, and that our health supercedes everything, including our weight. Plus her journal really rocks. She's a jewel! There's a lot of people on here that have inspired me and some of them have already been mentioned so I think I would pick JMO and KMO, they have both been very inspiring to me along with everyone else. These 2 rock.
  7. True, I would hate for them to put a tube down and tear something up, but I guess if I'm dying it isn't going to matter any how. LOL Looks like your weight loss is going great. I'm so proud for you. I was doing great now only a couple pounds a week. I scheduled my fill for the 15 th which was 5 weeks but I called and changed it to next week. It will only be 4 weeks but my restriction is getting less and less and I sure don't want to gain the weight I've already lost back. Keep up the good work.
  8. Leona, I just ordered mine and I put the same stuff on the back as yours. Thanks for the info.

    Tennessee Bandsters ??

I'm not but one state away either, I live in Kentucky but I only know one other person on here that lives in Kentucky. Looks like your all doing great with your bands. I have just had mine 3 weeks yesterday and going for my fill one week from today. Nice to meet you all,
  10. I have a Golden retriever & I was buying a large bag of Purina at Wal-Mart and was in line to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog. On impulse, I told her that no, I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry & that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again. I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a guy who was behind her. Horrified, she asked if I'd ended up in the hospital in that condition because I had been poisoned. I told her no; it was because I'd been sitting in the street licking my balls and a car hit me. I thought one guy was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard as he staggered out the door.
  11. Jodie, Go to the fitday.com to track all of your food and exercise and it even has a journal to track how your feeling at certain times. Do all of that and then you can copy it to let some experienced seasoned bandsters on here see if they see a problem or print it out to take to your surgeon. Maybe a little antidepressant might help too. I not saying your crazy mind you, almost everyone in my famiy takes paxil, or something mild and it does take the edge off. I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt you can do this. If I can be of any help please pm me. I would love to try to help in some way. If you need to talk just email me. YOu can do this and you will do this. Plus, I think once you get back to school alot of stress from you family will be off of you and maybe you can put yourself first for a change. Dont give up girl,

I do'nt have anyone else to talk to....

Fholts, I am praying for you right now. Sometimes I think things are out of our hands and we have to ask God for help. He will not let you down. I have experienced alot of the same things you are going through but I know everyone's is different. I have a wonderful husband, he makes a wonderful living, and takes care of us very well, but I'm just 2 weeks out banded and I try to keep up with him but when I can't he gets really mad and tells me to just go to bed. I rode 4 wheelers for over 6 hours yesterday and helped my son work on his before he wrecked and today I just don't feel good and it's his day off so now he's pissed off at me. I tell him I'm doing the best I can. Then my son who just had the accident, he's almost 19, living at home, loves to party with friends and drink alcohol. It's so hard on our marriage and I pray everyday God will take care of him and us. He says he's enlisting in the Army and although I will never quit crying when he does I know it's for the best for him. Just try to think positive and try to take some time each day if your religious to ask for God's help, and we'll all be praying for you as well. Try when your attacks comeon to go some where peaceful to get your thoughts together and relax. You can do this and we're all here if you need to talk, pm me I would feel honored to talk to you or just post on here we're always here for each other. In a way we're all family. We have had something done to our bodies that just not everybody has, so we have a bond. Love you and sending hugs your way, Sherri

Prayer for son afer 4 wheeler wreck

Yes, unfortunately we bought him the quad racer. It's a Yamaha Raptor 660 Limited Edition. Then he bought racing slicks to increase his speed. His will do 110 miles an hour and I've been so scared ever since my husband unloaded it. The truth was hard to get out of him as he was so scared but this is what happened. He rides wheelies for like a mile at a time if the road is flat, so he was riding a wheelie and going pretty fast and he has a custom wheelie bar of the back to keep him from flipping over or at least that was what it was suppose to do. It broke off and he hit his breaks and it went end over end 4 times sliding on the pavement the entire time and he never let go of it. When it finally stopped it was still on top of him and his ankle had gotten caught between the front wheel and it bent the front wheel and rod completely in so his foot was just crushed in there. He be fine in time. He has road burn all over him. He has a tattoo of a big cross on his foreharm and it got his tattoo as well. He's 6'9" tall but he is still my baby. It's been one of those just cry, cry, cry day and I guess it's made tension between my husband and I and he's been on my case all day and won't let up. It's been rough. Thank you all for your concerns, your the best friends, really family a person could ever hope for. If any of you every wonder if your posts touch someone or are you just wasting your time, don't wonder. Your posts have certainly blessed my heart. Thank you all, Love you all,
  15. I would like to ask everyone to remember my 18 yr. old son tonight as we were out on all 4 of the 4 wheelers and my son's is a racing Yamaha Raptor 660 Limited Edition and does about 110 miles an hour. He was flying and did a wheelie and lost control and wrecked. He is really tore up. It flipped about 9 times and he skidded on the highway for aobut 30 feet and then it landed on him. We had just got it out of the shop yesterday after spending about 500.00 dollars on it and it looks to be just about totalled. As long as he'll be alright is all I am concerned about. I just wished everyone would pray for him, he is the baby. I know I can always count on you guys, Love you all, Sherri P.S. Before surgery I could trail ride the 4 wheelers about 1 hour and had to quit. I've rode on some really rough trails for about 6 hours non stop today. That's my NSV for this week.

So glad your doing good KMO. I said many prayers for you and have started my prayers for you LMO. You'll do great. KMO it's so glad to see you back on here and home again. I hope your other issues are all okay now. My losing has slowed down to just a couple of pounds a week but thank God it hasn't stopped yet. I moved my fill up one week to have it a couple of days before my 5 th week. They have an opening at 4 weeks but I was afraid that is too soon. If you need anything or have any questions please let me know. I'll have lots of time on here since my son was just in a 4wheeler crash yesterday and I'll be here trying to mend him back up. So just give me a yell. Your banded friend, Sherri
  17. I got to the preop room at 3:00, my surgery was scheduled at 3:00, they did my preop work and at 3:30 I was in the surgery dept. I left there at 4:45 and went to recovery. I was there for longer because I requested a pain shot of deladid so I had to stay until 7:00. Went to my room at 7:00 and was released at 11:00 the next morning.

Please Help Me, Now I'm Scared!

I think your worrying over nothing. Dr. Sanchez told us after surgery that he'd done over 6600 lapbands, not rxy, and had NEVER lost a patient. That's damn good odds. Our odds are lots worse of getting killed on the highway. I don't think you should worry about anything. It happens so fast and quick that you don't know what hit you. As soon as I came to Dr. Sanchez came back to check on me and he said I lifted the covers and said "Why didn't you put my band in" he said he laughed and laughed. You'll do wonderfully and it's not dangerous.

The wave your feeling Karen is like a baby kicking when your pregnant and I think everyone has that, I sure did. The swollen stomach is completely normal. I too lift lots more than I should have, I had no choice and it didn't hurt anything. Your stomach after about 7 to 10 days will go down. Do wory, your doing great and everything will be fine, take it from another Kentucky woman. LOL I'll tell you something my husband fixed me and it was soooo filling and good. He took a big roast, onions, carrotts, and potatoes and beef bouillion cubes and stick of butter and put in the crock pot for about 24 hours. It was fabulous I did it for the remained of my liquids and there was still some left on my first day of mushies so I got a bowl and smashed up the potatoes and carrots. It would keep me full for hours. You ought to try it. Good luck girl and keep intouch with me please. I'd love to hear from you or email me with any questions. Today is day 18 for me and I've rode 4 wheelers alllllll day long on trails. Hugs,

Can a fill needle puncture the band?

It can puncture your band but it would be very unlikely. Did they use fluro or not? I think you are somewhere in there for your sweet spot. I've heard of them taking out like.10 to get it perfect. I would just say your inbetween, but in mho I don't think they punctured it. Good luck and I would give it a week and drink liquids and mushies and don't eat anything on the day of your fill is what they told me to get a correct fit and see if that works. Maybe just have .10 put in instead of .25. Gope this helps, Hugs

Prayer for son afer 4 wheeler wreck

I sure will, his ankle may be broke and he is totally eat up with road rash. He eat right through his clothes and tore him up. He's about 6'9 and when he called he, we were riding down by the river and he was way in front of us. He was crying and he said, "Mom, tell dad not to be mad butttttttttt and I knew something was wrong. He's a very very sweet kid, just gets into lots of mischief. He's getting ready to enlist in the army and I'll bo bonkers. He and I are as tight as A Mom and Son can be. Every since last month when him and my husband pulled up with it in the truck I panicked. I knew it was a racing bike and the biggest one you can get except for the 07 model and I knew it was fast. I have worried every single time he leaves on it. He can ride a wheelie for a mile without stopping. So after tonight he was crying and said Mom, can we try to fix it, it broke both tie rod ends, broke off back wheelie bar, twisted streering wheel, and one of the wheels is bent all the way in, but he said can we get it fixed and trade it in on one of the 4x4's like yall's. I was like YES WE CAN. Thank God he's going to be okay but he sure is cut up and think is ankle is broke but that can all be fixed. Thanks you dear friends for your prayers, Sending my love, Sherri

  23. Monterrey Mexico for 8500 total for everything. You can call tomorrow and be having surgery usually within a week or so. They do the preop 30 min. before surgery. This price includes everything including your food. www.ready4achange.com, hope this helps.
  24. Have you thought about Mexico. Total price for everything is 8500.00 with Dr. Sanchez and they even set up financing if you want it. They were fabulous and I had a wonderful experience. That includes, preop, guest house one night before surgery, one night in hospital, and then one more night in guest house and all of your eats. Just thought you might want to check them out. He's done over 6600 lap bands and free fills for life. PM me if you need more info.
  25. Best of luck with whomever you choose. I think they are all really good surgeons. I used Dr. Rodolfo Sanchez in Monterrey Mexico. I can't say enough good things about him, his staff, the beautiful city of Monterrey or the hospital. NOt one bad thing. They pick you up at the airport, holding a sign with your name on it. They drive you straight to the guesthouse and it is gorgeous. You have a huge bedroom, bathroom, fridge, TV w/dvd and vcr and phone and recliner in your room. Fridge is fully stocked with broths, jellos, juices, and waters. They have a computer for your use with internet, phone to call the states with no charge and driver to take you shopping or out to eat. Dr. Sanchez is the sweetest doctor I've EVER met. He's a doll. Dr. Rodrigus or however you spell it works for Dr. Sanchez. Dr. Sanchez has done over 6600 band surgeries as well. They're email is Ready4Achange.com, go there and they have all of the pricing. Mine was 8500.00 and that included everything.
