Ohh Jane I hope your right. Plus, this is my second T.O.M. since surgery and I've never ever had such monthly visits. The cramps are horrible and just alltogether a horrible week. ( Sorry guys, it is just something us girls have to talk about, LOL). If your like me, you'll cry all the way home from leaving the baby at school, I did. Have a great week.

Jack, I tell you what, you always make my day when I read your posts. I usually get a kick out of them and if not a kick, I love have smart and knowledgable you are.

Heck no I don't regret it, just wished I'd had it done sooner. But, I didn't let anyone sway me one way or another. My husband and son to this day say, ain't no way I'd do without bread, or would pb, or any of those things, and have this for the rest of my life, but, neither one of them were or have been overweight. So, it has to be a personal decision. I was self pay so I had even more to think about because when you shell out 10,000.00 that you could do whatever you want with you will do some heavy duty praying and thinking. Good luck in your decision but read on this forum, everyday, I did and I learned sooooo much, much more than any seminar I went to.

Okay July people, I'm flipping out and cried after I got on the scales today. I've been losing so well, about 4 pounds per week. Yesterday my T.O.M. came and I hadn't weighed in two days so last night before going to bed I weighed and OMG, I have gained 5 pounds. How in this world did this happen. I have a band and this is not suppose to happen. Now what do I do?

I paypaled you this afternoon. Can't wait to get my bracelet. I'm so proud to be a lapbander and so thankful for this site. I knowwe lost a bunch of people to the new forum, www.band2gether.net, and it seems to be going great and yes, you can be a member of as many as you like, but this will always be home to me. Everyone held my hand as I went through this and I will be forever greatful.

Hi and Welcome Lin, Don't be scared of afraid as my surgery in July was a breeze and easier than going to the dentist. (I'm petrified of the dentist) If will be so much easier than you can imagine. Just do what your doc says because all of them are different and tell you different things, so stick to yours so that your on the same page. Sending you hugs and best wishes and welcome to bandland.

I got my first fill at 2 days shy of 4 weeks. I had 1.5 cc's put in my 9.75cm inamed band. Two weeks later at 6 weeks I had .75 put in, putting me at 2.25 in a 4 cc's band. I'm scheduled for another fill in 2 more weeks but we'll have to wait and see as I have perfect restriction at this time. Hope this helps.

We waited 10 days, and as well, made him do most of the work.

You'll be in all of our prayers. It will be over in a blink of an eye. I agree with heating pad, Snacks for whoever will be going with you so they don't have to leave your side. My own pillow was the tops, felt like I was at home. Get your pain meds filled before hand so that when your released you can go straight home, but you probably won't even need them. I only took them to help me sleep. That's all I can think of, Hugs and best wishes, Let us know how things go.

I don't know about everyone else but I can do both with no problem. Your not suppose to drink while eating or for 30 min. after but on occaions I have.

:cry Boy, it's that time of the month and I've ate everything in sight. Not much of anyone thing, just a bite of everything. I have a lot of stress in my life right now too and I think that makes things even harder. I feel pretty restricted but I have an appt. for another fill and by the time that gets here I'm sure I will go ahead and get another one. Family life is really rocky right now and I don't know why. It seems like every since I got banded my husband hasn't felt the same about me. We were childhood sweethearts and the only people we've ever dated was each other. We've been married for 25 years and some days I think it just wants to be single again. I think he's bored and wants something more exciting. I just don't know what to do. Well, maybe tomorrow will be better, I doubt it but just maybe. Good night.

There was no preop diet for me either, just nothing after midnight, prior to surgery. I loved that part. You have to do enough liquids after surgery. He did say I had some fat on my liver. LOL I could have told him that, there is fat everywhere else.

Good luck and I know if you put your mind to it you can do it. I lost19 pounds preop on the liquid diet and mushies and I swear I wasn't even trying. It was very easy. But, there are always butts, I could never, ever keep my off. I wish you many many pounds of loss. Sherri

They gave me 5 of the 16oz bottles with a refill for 5 more, but I didn't like the taste at alll. Seems like it is better in the fridge. I called the Dr. back and he put be back on the pill form of the 10mg. and I half it and it goes down fine. I just make sure and drink lots of water after. I'm not taking them from the pain from surgery, I didnt need anything for that pain. I use them because of earlier 3rd degree burns, skin stretching, and disc removed in my neck last year and now spinal fluid building up in my neck and another ruptured disc. They are my friends right now, I've tried percocet, darvocet, all of them and Loritab is the only one that works for me.

We didn't have to have any. They took our blood while we were in preop waiting room and that was it.

Let's see. I was banded 8 weeks ago tomorrow, on September the 11th. I have had no problems whatsoever, so far and weight loss has been about the norm. I have lost about 27 pounds so far in 8 weeks so I guess that's about 3 pounds per week. Could be better but oh well, at least I didn't gain. I went for my first fill at 4 weeks postop to Dr. Trace Curry in Cincinnatti, Ohio and he is wonderful and knows his stuff. His office staff are very nice as well. I got 1.75 for my first fill and he said to come back in 2 weeks if it wasn't enough. So, 2 weeks later I go back, it's a little ove 4 hour drive each way and I didn't want to get overfilled so I ask for .5cc and he wanted 1.0 so we agreed to go half way at .75cc which put me at 2.25 and had me stay over night in a hotel and eat soft scrambled eggs the next morning to see if I was going to be too tight or not, as he doesn't charge for unfills. I thought that was very thought ful of him. The fill seemed to be perfect and I do have great restriction but it seems like before, I'm only losing 2 pounds aweek all of a sudden and I can gulp my drink but have pb'd twice on bread. I guess it is just fickle. I'm scheduled for another fill around the 18th of September so I'll see as time gets closer. I've lost almost 40 pounds and only a couple of people have even noticed. That's kinda heart breaking but I'm sure it will come. I still have 80 more pounds to go. I really need to bump up the exercise and the water intake and I know it will speed things up. Well, I guess that's all for now. Check in tomorrow.

Mine was 2 days before my 4th week.

I walked, went bike riding, dang that little bitty bike seat was so far up my butt crack and now I'm sore from that and went 4 wheeler riding. O.T. a little bit, I had to life my dh air compressor and lift it up over the rails on his big tall pickem up truck and must have done something to my stomach muscle. It's so sore around the area of my port. Has anyone else done anything this stupid?

Dr. Curry is my doctor and after my first fill he said wait 2 weeks and I did and 2 weeks later I got my second fill putting me at 2.25. Restriction has been great but my weight loss has really slowed down, sounds crazy to me. So 2 weeks, from 1st to 2nd fill and after my second he said give it one month so I'm 2 weeks away from another fill.

I love this site, and I need this site, and I promise I will always be a good girl.
