    post question?

You can also on the ticker factory go to dates instead of weight loss and it will let you make another ticker with an approaching date of something happening.
  2. I agree. I put off getting my fill last week until next week just because I read everyone's post and I'm only a little less than 3 months out and have more fill than most. I don't think I will do that anymore because all that did was delay losing weight. I'm not going to worry anymore about having more fill than everyone else and just get mine to where I need it. I'm at 2.25 and it's not enough. I schedule a fill for next Tuesday. Dread the pain though. LOL Good luck everyone. I've only lost 4 pounds in 6 weeks so wouldn't you all agree it's time for a fill. I don't fill up as easy either.

    How do you block people

I have never heard of her and when I got the first pm I was like why in this world did I get this. It started out, "Dont have surgery in Mexico, and about them not being up to par and that I wouldn't know what kind of band I had, what size and what it was made of. Then she said what if you die in Mexico, then her surgery was 50,000.00 and she didn't go to Mexico and that her insurance paid every penny and crap like that and then I've gotten 3 more from her.
  5. This person I reported yesterday sending me nasty pm's is there anyway I can block her, she is sending them to me everyday. Does anyone know? Carlacocoa is her name and she has sent me 3 or 4 of them.

    How do you block people

Thank you very much, duhhhh, you would think I could have figured that out. Thanks guys, she's really getting on my last nerve. Why do people get on here and do that.
  7. Yes, the one who dreaded it soooo bad, was sooooo careful and it happened anyway, I want my membership to the pbing club to be activated. I had scheduled my third fill for tomorrow, just wasn't quite tight enough and then got up this morning, fixed me a piece of toast with peanut butter like I do every morning and bammm it happened. I done the yoga position, I raised my arms, and walked and walked and the pain was horrid. I thought what in the world do I do now, it did itself. I made it to the bathroom and it only took like one second and it was up and out. It was immediate relief. It wasn't at all as bad as I expected but isn't it weird how when you schedule a fill. I called and cancelled my fill and I guarantee you I will be loose as a goose from here on out, my band now. LOL

Stamp my hand, I'm now a member!

Pb-Productive Burp, actually it is when your food gets stuck and you get this hurting in your chest and your food is either going to go down or up and in my case up. If your too tight sometimes this happens and your filled to much or I think in my case I just ate too fast.

How long until the dreaded PB

I've been banded for over 2 months and had my first one today. It wasn't as bad as I thought but pretty painful. I had called yesterday and scheduled a fill for tomorrow because I could eat bread, steak, or anything and don't you know it today I pb'd. I was eating a piece of toast with peanut butter for which I do everyday. I noticed about half way through my chest got tight but I just kept on eating like an idiot. Then the chest pain got horrible. I tried the yoga positions, I tried raising my arms, I tried walking and when I walked into the bathroom it was like projectile vomiting, sorry if gross but within 30 seconds it was up and relief was there instantly. It wasn't at all like vomiting before the band. It wasn't bad at all. Man, relief felt so good. Hope you don't ever have to do it but schedule a fill and I bet you will. LOL

    Meds that we can take

I know what you mean about people questioning you. I have had 3 neck and back surgeries in the past 2 years, have had 2 disc taken out and plates and bone put in they're place and still have 2 more ruptured in my lower back and am still on loritab tablets. I would die with the pain without them and I still take them. I worry to death about it but what is a person to do. I also have liquid loritab but it taste horrible. My surgeon assured me it is okay to take them that your stomach is a muscle and the band is on the outside of this muscle and if will not affect your band. I sure hope he is right. Good luck everyone on taking meds and you know what. I just now thought I have been banded for over 2 months and this is the first time I've even thought about a vitamin, I haven't took any. Guess I better start huh?
  11. Another new person, one post per day, pming me about the dangers of Mexico. LOL I told her she was too late, had mine done there and love it. Watch out for her.

    First Fill Questions

I had my surgery on July 10, 2006 and had my first fill at 5 weeks, 1.50 and then my doctor only made me wait for 2 weeks for my 2nd fill which was .75, putting me at 2.25. I have the inamed, low profile, 9.75cm band that holds 4ccs. I lost 40 pounds but right now I can eat anything, bread, pizza, steak, you name it. I am still losing but going back this week for a little more fill. I don't think I need much, just a little to top it off. I probably will just get .5cc. My doctor charges 150.00 and uses fluro. He makes you wait 2 weeks from your 1st to your 2nd fill and then 1 month in between fills after that.

    Pain after Fill

Yep me too. After every fill I don't feel up to par and my port area is always sore. I guess it's to be expected.
  16. I agree, that's very good weight loss and I also agree about the 1st fill. I got my first fill 5 weeks out, 1.5 cc's and I have the 4cc's band. Then 2 weeks after that I got another .75 putting me at 2.25. I could finally feel restriction, but I felt nothing after my first fill. I'm still losing but I can eat anything, not much of anything, but anything, so I'm going this week for my 3rd fill. I know I don't need much, just a little bit more. I've lost about 40 pounds in the last 2 months. I agree, even after a fill it takes at least a week before I get the full effects and I don't know for sure as I'm not a doctor, but I think after you loose a little in your stomach you need more fill as your stomach is a muscle and I believe your fill loosens up or something.

    port?

Mine is about 3 inches below my left breast. I have the low profile port so it is not showing as of yet, it may later I don't know. Just been 2 months.
  18. About a week or so. Once it is all gone you will forget you ever had it. I didn't have any of the pain, shoulder pain or anything just a little tenderness from my port site. You'll be up and running in a week or so with no problems. Congrats on your new band. I've had mine for about 2 months and so far so good, down about 40 pounds, and going for 3rd fill this week.

I've been banded for 2 months and have lost 40 pounds and getting ready for another fill this week. I have had no problems, I'll probably jinz it now, but no really, most have no problems at all.

Got a nasty pm from Carolcocoa

Hey Chris, Whatcha doing? Nope, they took both kidneys, thinking they were her breats. LOL Where do these crazy people come from. How are you doing my fellow Julyer, I don't think thats a word. From the looks of things my friend you are doing excellent. What is it with you guys, just loose, loose, loose and leave us ladies behind. You need to slow down and wait for me. I'll be there in a year or so. How much fill do you have.

    Mexico or States

Getting healthy, glad you had a wonderful experience. I'm with you. My daughter works here for a large hospital and she couldnt believe how the hospital there put ours to shame and they were constantly asking did we need anything, do you need anything. Here I've had 3 surgeries in 2 years, one being having neck surgery with disc removed and I had to call every 4 hours and beg for something for pain and maybe within the next hour or so I would get it and there within 4 hours they were there putting it in your iv, you didn't have to ask. I'm not proMexico or anything, just a patient who had surgery and had fabulous care and I have fabulous after care with Dr. Curry in Cinci.

Paid for surgery out of pocket?

I have BC/BS and they told me I'd have to wait 6 months and be on supervised diet and I knew in 6 months I would be almost to goal and I just didn't want to waste more time and possibly gain more weight. I self payed and had it done in Monterrey Mexico and it was 8500.00 and that included everything and free fills for life and it was a wonderful experience. They put the states hospitals to shame in some respects and Dr. Sanchez was marvelous. You have to do what you feel good about and everyone has different issues. I did what I had to do and so far no problems at all. It's been 2 months and I've lost 40 pounds. I could not have done it any other way. Good luck with your decision. If you have any questions feel free to pm me.

    New....with a silly question

That's what I meant was membrane, I couldn't think of the word and I knew no one would attempt to eat the skin off of an orange. And, the grapes, my surgeon warns me not to eat them and one of the girls that Amy, (funny) and I had surgery with pb,d big time on grapes and a girl than I see when I get my fills done the same thing, so he says just to avoid them.

    New....with a silly question

Don't eat around your band. Don't eat the ice cream, chips, Soups, and other things that pass right through your band but could be easier to eat sometimes. Don't over eat and stretch your pouch. Don't eat grapes, and the skins on oranges, grapefruits, etc. Don't drink carbonated beverages until or unless your surgeon says it is okay.
  25. I had surgery in Monterrey as well with Dr. Sanchez and I had no preop work and the day of surgery when they wheeled me into the preop waiting they took my blood and that was it and that was 30 min. or so before surgery.
