Your absolutely right. I contacted them and when I looked at the number of slips and the hospital I had to go with Dr. Sanchez. It was a big hospital where I went and it's where the President of the U.S. goes if he needs a hospital while down there. I think the whole Mexico experience depends on who you choose. I said time and time again, I had a wonderful, wonderful experience and I went with Funny and she did too. So please, don't down Mexico but please, please, make sure of who you choose. I wished I could help her out some way. I feel so bad for her as it could be me or any of us. We all have to look out for each other. I mean this place is family for me. Hey me too. My middle area was the biggest. You want to know a weird thing. I never ever had a belly. I mean I was tiny. Usually 23 in. or so before I gained weight. And where did I gain it, in the belly. We'll have to throw ourselves a internet party. Wouldn't that be wild. Don't ask me how, LOL. I'm on mushies today but I'm sticking to liquids as I'm chicken............ Good luck and I hope you loose, loose, loose. You several pounds smaller than me but I don't want you to wait for me. You get there first and tell me what it's like. Have a good one.

Well, A big Hello from Kentucky and welcome, welcome, welcome. I think your doing fabulous with losing 26 pounds. Don't be so hard on yourself. Also, if your not pleased, could you need more fill. I know I did. I too, have recently had neck and back surgery and still have 2 more ruptured discs so exercise is hard for me too. Oh, and let me tell you the grandma thing is fabulous, wonderful, did I say fabulous. OMG, I have a little 12 month old granddaughter who is the light of my life. I worship the very ground she walks on. You'll feel like you've died and gone to heaven. Congrats on your weightloss, being a bandster, becoming a grandma, and finding lbt. You'll love it here. Everyone is like family here to me.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I had surgery in Mexico and they gave us copies of ours before we left. I've heard some bad things about where you went but nothing like that. I had mine done by Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey and I have had very good luck so far and they work so good with me. I can't understand the problem your having with fills. My doctor is fabulous. He didn't need any of my records. Why don't you just pm me and you can just fly to mine or heck, I don't know you but if you could get here I would take you there. That's horrible. Have you tracked your eating and your exercise on fitday.com. It might help for some of the more seasoned bandsters to see what you eat in a day and how much exercise you are doing to help identify the problem. Also, are you eating Protein first and not eating with your meals? I am just guessing as I've only been banded since July 10 of this year. I am also not familiar with that band. I have the Inamed 9.75 cm band that holds 4cc's and I got my 3rd fill on Tuesday. I'm at 2.65 cc's so I'm over half full which sometimes makes me nervous but so far am losing very well. But, I've dieted a lot of years and I know it can stop with the drop of a hat. Give us this info and maybe we can be more helpful. I wish you better luck and hope you start losing. I know how upsetting it can be as I am self pay myself and all of my fills as well. So we do have a lot of money riding on this. So far I've lost almost 50 pounds in the last 2 1/2 months. I hope myself or someone can help you out. I've had to ask for help on here more times than I'd like to admit, so your not alone. Keep up the faith.

You could be experiencing the first bite syndrome too. Have you tried something hot to drink first then eat your solid food? I have heard that really helps. How much fill do you have and what size band?

Oh Beth, Your pics are so good. Your daughter is so pretty and a might handsome man there too. My husband and I will be married 25 years this next May. God I'm getting old. Karik, Glad to hear your fill went well. They poked me 3 times the first fill and I said that's enough so he used fluro and hit it right off. Then 2nd time went straight to fluro and hit it first time. Yesterday whereas the fluro had been free, the hospital wasn't charging and all I had to pay him was the 150.00 for the fill and yesterday he said they're now charging 200.00 just for fluro. I said well go ahead and try it without it so he poked once or twice and couldn't get it but had me put my hands behind my head and lift both of my feet up while I was laying on the table, to tighten my stomach muscle I guess but then he hit it. He had just told me if he didn't hit it that time we would go to fluro. Glad my fill is over. He said I shouldn't need anymore. We'll see. I really, really, do like him. Well how is Leona doing? Hi Honey, I'm Hommmmeeeeeee. Been gone since Monday for my fill and just got home. Good excuse to go shopping. LOL Good new and bad news. My gall bladder must come out, yuck, that will be 4 surgeries in less than 2 years, good news is I got .4 fill didn't need much it's my 3rd fill and am down almost, not all the way but almost, 50 pounds in 2 months and 2 weeks. Man I hope I can keep this up. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day and I'm glad to be home. I think I just might lay down and take a nap, especially after the car getting lost yesterday, that will wear you out, feeling like a complete idiot. LOL Love you all, Sherri

You will all loose once you get some fill to your band. Your suppose to just be healing right now and don't worry at all about not losing. I didn't either. Even after my first fill I wasn't losing all that much. You have to do it slow because of swelling. I just got my 3rd fill today, I am now at 2.65 in a 4cc's band and I'm tight and I won't feel the full effects for a week, I never do. Just be patient, it will come off, just get well right now, I promise.

I had my 3rd fill today and I was kind of tight anyway, especially in the mornings. I had 2.25 and he just an hour ago put in .4 which puts me at 2.65. You could possibly have the first bite syndrome. Have you tried drinking something hot first. That's what they just told me to do in case I really tight today. She said that would open it up some. Of course, if you can't eat I'm sure you'll need a slight unfill. Let us know how things turn out. Wishing you lots of luck.

Hi everyone, I'm sitting here in a hotel room in Cinci. Just got my 3rd fill. He put in .4 this time which puts me at 2.65 in a 4cc's band. I had lost 12 pounds in a month. I'm so thrilled. You'll never believe what happened to me. Dr. Curry gave me my fill and I had parked in the parking garage for the first time. I usually park on the highway. I go in and I"m confused from the getgo. The parking garage is several stories high. I hadn't felt good anyway. I came up last night to rest after the drive and stayed in the hotel and at 5:30am this morning my gall bladder woke me up and I thought I would die. So that had been going on all morning. I go in, get my fill, and he says he will take my gb out for me and I go back to the garage where I THOUGHT I parked. There in the exact same end spot is empty, no car. I start panicking. I've never had a panic attack but today I think I had one. Then I notice it says doctors parking only. So now I'm thinking, I'm 5 hours from home, my new car (and my husband before I came up here had my windows tinted, illegally dark, 5%, and had chrome rims and low pro tires put on it, it's a 05 Grand Prix) so here I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off, where's my car, where's my car. I walk over to the elevator not knowing where in the hell to go and there's a button you can push to talk to the attendant. I tell him my car is gone and by then I was yes, in tears. He says, stay put, I'll be right there. 10 mins. later he arrives in a little golf cart, me crying, he says what happened. I tell him I parked in a Doctors parking by accident and they've towed away my car. I was only in there for maybe 20 mins. He said Maam', we haven't towed any cars so then I scream, Oh my God, someone has stolen it. He finally gets me calmed down and tells me to get in his golf cart and he takes me up to the next level, and low and behold in the exact same end spot is my car. You talk about feeling like a complete and utter idiot. Poor guy, he laughed his ass off. Moral to the story, don't go to your fills by yourself. geeeeshhhhhh.

There is a thread on here of everything you need before surgery, I'll look for it for you and post it if I can, but a blender is very handy, heating pad, neosporin, gasx strips, liquid tylenol, Protein shakes with lots of protein, sf popsickles, sf puddings, juices, protein powders, just to name a few. I didn't have a preop diet but most do (had mine done in Mexico). You might want to start trying to not drink with your meals, that might help. You might even want to watch your chewing when time gets a little closer and be aware of chewing everything about 40 times. You might want to get familiar with good solid Proteins and know which ones are good for you. I am just rambling off the top of my head. I called one week and had surgery the next 2 weeks, so I didn't really have time for stuff like this and I think this will help you a lot by preparing. That's funny, I kinda of thought that she thought physical shakes too. I got a kick out of that. Oh, guess what I went and bought today, it's so cute. Duhhhh, of course you can't guess, LOL. I have a little mini dashund, he's black and tan and 1 year old. My dh and I drove up in Illinois today and bought him a woman. Well, actually she's 4 oz. but she will eventually be a woman, (dog that is). She a mini short haired red, cute as a button. I have to wait two more weeks to pick her up as she's still too small. I have to take pics when I pick her up. I'm with you Beth, dh was watching football earlier and I was doing laundry and I thought I am bored, bored, bored, why don't you just jump on a plane and you could be here for us to scrapbook or something in a few hours, LOL. Okay guys, I hope I'm not screwing up but you know my Doctor, Dr. Curry had me scheduled to come back for my third fill 2 weeks ago. I cancelled because I pb'd on a piece of toast and it was my first pb. I got scared and cancelled my appt. So I really wasn't losing all that great, maybe one pound per week. I called this week and cancelled again and she said well, he wanted to see you last week. I said well it's a 5 hour drive each way and I have to stay overnight to see if I need a unfill and I didn't want that expense unless I was getting a fill. Well, I called and got it for this Tuesday, which I would leave tomorrow for the drive and I weighed today and since I seen him 5 weeks ago Tuesday I've lost about 9 pounds. So, I'm going anyway, may get a fill, may not, I just hope the right thing happens, you know. Scared to death of overfill, but do want to loose aggresively. Hope everyone has a great first day of the week tomorrow.

I've Pb'd once in the 2 1/2 months I've been banded and going for another fill tomorrow so hope it doesn't happen anytime soon. I don't have the constipation problem and that's probably like Jack said just post op and my pb was my fault I was eating bread last week because I haven't been having a problem with it and I was eating it too fast and 10 min. later up it came. So keep it slow and you should be okay.

Hey pjk, I go to Dr. Curry today. Isn't he a pure sweetheart. I'm leaving tomorrow night to drive up as he is almost 5 hours each way and spend the night and get my 3rd fill on Tuesday and then spend the night again to see if I am too tight or not and I'll leave on Wednesday. I wished everyone could use him.

Hi everyone, Sounds like everyone is having a great weekend and feeling better. I'm with you Leona, I can eat about a cup now so I scheduled a fill for Tuesday. They weighed me at my pcp yesterday and it was 40 pounds since July 10th. I was worried because on my TOM last week it said I had gained 5 pounds. I almost went into cardiac arrest. Whew. I bet he'll give you a fill Leona. What's the latest on your pains? Have they said anymore? Beth, glad you got DH to do a honeydo job, and it was fast too. I don't have that good of luck with mine. I guess he keeps losing his list. Maybe I need to do it on computer so I can print out lots of lists. Oh, my little one year old granddaughter was in her first beauty pagent last night, she was adorable. She went out on the stage and when they were done telling who she was and stuff she turned around and waved at all of the judges and people watching. It was adorable. I loose lots of hair every day but mines very,very, thick and I've always lost lots Surgery was on July 10, this year Yes I take a flintstones chewable each day, No I don't take calcium I lost 40 in 10 weeks, so I guess 4 pounds per week. Hope this helps,

Are you fairly close to Cincinatti? I live in Kentucky and drive 4 hours each way to see Dr. Trace Curry in Cinci. I don't know how far it would be for you but he is fabulous. He's done thousands. He charges 150.00 per fill. I really like him.

They say no to the membranes on fruit like oranges, grapefruit I even heard broccoli. Since my doctor told me to avoid those I just do. I've only been banded for 2 months and have lost 40 pounds so far so to me it is worth giving up a couple of things. I don't think you'll ever regret getting the band. I think you will be very, very pleased. I went to Mexico and none of my family, I mean none were for it and now they just can't believe the progress. Just do what you feel in your heart is best for YOU.
