I would like in implore you to just check out Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey Mexico. I went to him and several on here did and the hospital is much bigger then the one in TJ and Dr. Sanchez has done 7000 surgeries. I know 5 people personally that have went to him and we are all doing great. He charges 8500, which includes everything and free fills for life. PM me if you would like his website, and no I don't work for him, LOL, just very, very pleased with his work. Good luck on your search, Sherri

Chris, Your just making all of us girls look badddddddddddddd. No, I'm kidding, your doing wonderful. I'm so so proud of you. Hi Leona, I've been worried about you. So sorry to hear your bad news. I know it must be rough with all you have on your plate. Maybe you'll do better than you think between now and Christmas. I'll be thinking about you.

Hi, I'm really excited about all this!
beachgirl replied to Lady Janey's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome Janey, I have faith with the band you'll do great. I'm 42 and had tried ever diet available to mankind. I was also so afraid because I was self pay and emptied out our savings account for this and didn't want to fail at this too. Trust me, with the band, and proper fill, I am very, very seldom hungry. Some days I'll look at my watch and it might be 5:00 pm and I've forgotten to eat. You'll get lots of good support here so keep in touch and good luck on your new journey. It was the best decision I've ever made in my life. -
No, I think your fine, in my opinion. He's done lots and lots of bypass and he's an otherwise great surgeon. My daughter has been at lourdes for several years and she feels comfortable with him and she said the same thing today about the woman she worked with and the blood clot. She also said he had someone scheduled for the bypass yesterday and was preping her and didn't like her ekg and did further tests and they had to cancel her surgery and now have her scheduled for heart surgery on Friday so that there tells me is is cautious. Just ask him any questions you have beforehand and you can ask anything on here, everyone is very knowledgable and sweet. I'll be glad to help you anyway I can. PM me with any questions.

Thank you Kim, I live in a town of almost probably 800 people and our post office isn't as big as our camper so I'm sure if I'd live somewhere bigger I would have gotten it sooner. Thank you again and yes, grandbaby is better, she's cutting like 5 teeth at once and both eyeteeth and just got her vaccines on Monday. I forgot what it's like to have a sick baby, but, these are so much more fun because when you get tired you can send them home. LOL My problem is I sometimes don't want to send her home. She is a cutie pie. Little over a year old and just weighs 15 pounds. Walking everywhere. Hope everyone is have a goulish day,

Just mailed mine today, so sorrry to be running sooooo late. Have had the grandbaby and she's been sick and haven't been out in 4 days. But I sent it priority so should be there in a couple of days.

I got my gift and love it. Thank you so much Kim (Kim2bhealthy). You are such a sweetie and thank you for the sweet card as well. It arrived today and I am so thrilled. Will try to take a pic, I tried to take one as soon as it arrived and my card that goes in my digital camera has mysteriously came up missing. Thank you again, love ya, Sherri

I must have posted that wrong, I don't drink with my meals, my surgeon just told me to try it and if I could that I wasn't tight enough. I never drink after 30 min. before my meal and I usually wait 1 hour till after. I just called him and then I told him yes I could drink. Only time I would drink if is something is spicy and I'll take a sip. I think I'll give it 2 more weeks. I've only lost 5 pounds since last fill and it's been 3 weeks since almost 4 I believe. Hope everyone is having a great night. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Yo Yo peeps!! I'm on the mic, what's your beef?

Your post cracked me up, you most definitely have a great sense of humor. Congrats on your surgery date, will be the best decision of your life. Peace out to you too!!!!!!!!! -
The 9.75 inamed band holds 4cc's.

I agree 100 percent. Most people already have tons of decorations and it your house was trimmed in blue or green you wouldn't want brown tones. I think it's a wonderful idea for personal or holiday and maybe even hints.

228 yesterday, so that makes 6 pounds, creeping like a turtle this time.
-
Your more than welcome, That's why I didn't want to try to talk you out of him because accidents do happen, you'll do fine with him. It's weird how we're only about 30 minutes apart. I notie under your name, my Dad played Banjo with Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatt years ago at the Opry. Our whole family is all about music. Are you looking to having surgery pretty quick? I didn't use my insurance either, they are a pain in the butt.
-
Mine is too my left but after a couple of days I could sleep on it. Cootie, where ever your biggest scar is that is your port scar.
-
Same here, very uneventful, didn't even use the painpills, no upset stomach, and was back to myself in a couple of days. Very very easy surgery.

I'm sure you would be fine with him. He had just lost a couple of patients with the bypass, one from leak, she worked there at Loureds with my daughter and she had 3 small children. She walked out to her mailbox and killed over right there. He had knicked a hole in her stomach. Then one more died while my daughter worked there but I don't know the reasons. I went there for consult and he had only did like 30 bands and it just scared me. I had BC/BS Anthem insurance but I went ahead and self payed with Dr. Sanchez in Mexico because he had done more than anyone and trained many of the US Doctors so I felt more at ease with him, and he was fabulous. I am sure that by now Dr. Argotee has probably done more and you would be fine, I sure don't want to scare you off of someone you decided on. JUst check him out real well. Patricia W. and her sister and her sister's husband were all going to him for the bypass and they own a grocery store right past ours and after they've been talking to me and seeing how well things have gone they are now scheduled with Dr. Sanchez in Mexico, all three of them on Oct. 31. You just have to feel good about your own decision. Good luck and pm me if you have any questions, I would be proud to answer what I know.

Hi Mary, Step, and everyone, As you might remember I got my 3rd fil a couple of weeks ago. Although I do have restriction and have pb,d 2 times, my weight loss has come to a hault. I can also, even though I know not to, can drink with my meals, I eat 1/2 cup of rice for supper, I ate toast with peanut butter for breakfast as I'm having trouble with my protein, I feel like I need another little shot of fill, what is your guys thinking on this. I would love some insight, I will not ever ask for advice for personal things again but I would like advice of this if someone has some I would appreciate it. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day, P.S. My son has got they're wedding planned for July 7, 2007, I'm so thrilled for him that they are waiting.

Hi Douglas, I live near Paducah Kentucky. Where are you from? It's weird to see anyone on here from Kentucky. I've only seen one other one. I had my surgery in Mexico. I went to Dr. Argotee and he had only done a handful on the bands and I was just to nervous for that and lost 2 people that I know of off hand with the bypass. Do you live close by? Welcome to LBT and best of luck to you. I've been banded 3 months this week and have lost 50 pounds so it's going pretty good would just like to loose a little bit faster, but wouldn't we all. Nice to meet you.

Banded by Dr. Alex Argotte?
beachgirl replied to DouglasP13's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Do you mean the Dr. Argotte here in Paducah? Please let me know if it's him. My daughter worked for him at Lourdes for a while, but I didn't let him do mine. -
Mary, So sorry to hear about your son. Hope he gets well very soon. I know how hard it is to have a child in the hospital. Maybe he'll be back up to par in notime. Keep us posted on how he is doing and take care of yourself.

OMG, he's the best, I mean the very best. I had him, he done mine on July 10, of this year and I absolutely love him. I have the 4cc's 9.75 inamed low profile band. I had no problems at all and so far so good. I've lost about 50 pounds in barely 3 months. He and his staff are wonderful. He's done almost 7000 of these so he knows his stuff. Inamed ask him first to be their rep but he turned them down and then Dr. Ortiz took it. They're both great doctors. PM me if you have any questions. You have nothing to worry about with him, I promise you.

Another reason it feels so big is scar tissue. At my first fill mine felt huge and when he showed me under fluro and showed me the size of the lowpro it is much smaller but with the scar tissue even the lowpro feels big too me.
-
Wow, you made it almost a year without a fill. I've just been banded barely 3 months and Dr. C has already give me 3 fills and I'm almost ready for number 4. I have the 4cc low profile band and right now I have 2.65 in it. I think I want him to take it to 3 very soon. I sure wish I was going to be there Wednesday and we could shop. I sure do love Dr. C. Tell him Sherri from Kentucky said hello and I'm about ready for another fill. Good luck with your fill.

Way to go Indian, I think the NSV are what keep us going. I have noticed even though we're not suppose to I can drink with my meals. I can tell I have restriction but my surgeon says since I can drink with my meals I'm still not tight enough. Keep up the great work,
-
Way to go Steph. I weighed today and down 2 more but boy it seems to be going slower since this last fill, oh well, maybe this week will be better. Good luck July'ers, loose, loose, loose. So close to the 50 pound mark, come on 50 pounds.
