I agree with Betty. I had 1.25 first fill, no restriction, .75 second fill, no restriction, .65 third fill which puts me at 2.65 in a 4.00cc's band and I just now have restriction. Good luck.
-
I agree, you should still be at the most on mushies. I would be afraid to be eating that. Plus, you shouldn't have any restriction other than the swelling because you have no fill. You won't get the full restriction feeling until good fill. Just be patient. It's too soon right now in my opinion.

Hi there busywoman, I live in Eddyville, so your just right down the road from me. We went to Clarksville today to Logans and to the mall and target. I've been a nervous wreck all weekend, my sons engaged and she spent the weekend with us too so my dear sweet hubby is sending me to Nashville in the morning for 4 days to shop and just get away. I sooooo need it. So nice to meet you. When are you having your sugery. You'll be soooo proud you had it, it's been the most wonderful decision of my life other than my husband of course. LOL Keep in touch neighbor,

I had mine done in Monterrey with Dr. Sanchez and it was 8500.00 for everything and free fills for life but I get my fills done with Dr. Curry in Cinci and he charges 150.00 for fill. It is less than the diet programs I used monthly. good luck and hope all goes well for you, I couldn't be more pleased with my surgery experience.
-
Welcome Michael, I had mine done in Mexico as well. Good luck on your surgery and recovery. Welcome to bandland.

I had to have surgery when I was 3 months pregnant years ago and no problems whatsoever. My daughter is now 21 with a one year old daughter of her own. You'll be fine.

I can eat 1/2 piece to maybe one small piece without any problems it's just not something I want to eat anymore.

Is this "Normal" Diet for After a Fill ?
beachgirl replied to coltonwade's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I wouldn't have made that I don't think. After a fill I'm on one day liquids, next day mushies and then third day solids. So far no problems at all and I've had 3 fills. But, all docs are different and I'm a firm believer in doing what your own doctor says do. Good luck on your upcoming banding. -
I have never had diarrhea with me fills. Maybe you have something going around. Hopefully some others will chime in but I know 6 people personally with the band and none of us have experienced that. I really bet you've picked up a virus or something. Sometimes I have also heard others say if your on liquids for an extended time like maybe after a fill that liquids in liquids out but I only have to be on them for one day after a fill so I guess I'm not much help. Hope your feeling better soon.

Me too Kat. If it weren't for this site I really don't think I'd ever went through with the band. But after reading it's so reassuring. Good luck and welcome to lbt.

I don't have insurance that covers. Has anyone gotten a denial reversed?
beachgirl replied to Betsyjane's topic in Insurance & Financing
I wasn't jumping through any more hoops for BC/BS Anthem. I self payed in Mexico, 8500.00 cash. There are all kind of low interest financing options, capital one, and bunches of others from your doctors office. I qualified for a 2 percent interest but just took it out of savings instead. Good luck those insurance companies can go to you know where as far as I'm concerned. My husband and I pay them 619.00 per month and won't cover crap. What a rip off. I'd be better off to put the 7000 per year in savings and pay my own bills. LOL -
down almost 50 pounds since July 10, 06. Was at 269 or 270 and now weigh 222.

I would have hugged him that's just the way I am. Crazy huh?

Price Negotiation$ Self Pay
beachgirl replied to kimberly150's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I agree with you 100percent. My husband and I pay 619.00 per month for BC/BSAnthem and they wouldn't pay crap. My PCP prescribed me Mobic yesterday for my arthritis that has set up in my neck from surgery and Lunesta for sleeping, they wouldn't pay for either one of those. One was 350.00 per month and the other was 116.00 month. Insurance companies suck in my opinion. I had to self pay in Mexico and got my monies worth, every penny. I wish you luck. -
Catheter for guys??
beachgirl replied to WantTheBand's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked Dr. Sanchez while in holding for surgery. I told him I had heard everyone has one for surgery you just don't know it or just not told it and he said no, I would not have one and I didn't. I don't think you have anything to worry about. -
OMG, I am glad I'm not in his shoes, of course I think if I had a mole in that spot I'd just leave it, LOL.
-
Don't worry yourself for no need. Like everyone has said it's quicker than a dentist visit and to me less painful. You'll be up and doing everything you ever did in just days and the pain is minimal. You'll be wondering why didn't I do this sooner, or at least I did. Good luck and I will be thinking about you both and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Diva, Come on over to the July Bandster's thread if you get a chance. We were all banded in July as well. Best of luck to you and welocme.
-
I'm with you Jack, plus the white bread, flour products we don't need either. I'm now trying the hard proteins only and it's really working.
-
Don't even put yourself through all of that. This is so very minimally invasive and my doctor has done 7000 and never lost anyone, that's some dang good odds. After one week you'll be up doing everything you did before and I promise you you'll feel soooo much better for your son and will be able to do everything with him again. I bet if he was older he would tell you he'd gladly miss one week of your feeling normal in exchange for the rest of his life feeling good. You'll be just fine. Don't put yourself through all of that negative stuff it will get you nowhere. Just think on the positive and how great your going to feel and look. Good luck and I"ll be thinking good thoughts for you.

Scheduled for surgery today at 2 pm
beachgirl replied to Luellen's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Luellen, You've had your surgery by now and I hope all is well. I didn't have any trouble at all with my surgery and day 3 was mopping kitchen, vacuming doing laundry and all that good stuff and day 10 went 4 wheeler riding all day long. You'll do great, I think everyone does differently but just walk, sip, sip, sip, and get plenty of rest. Congrats. -
Welcome Big Buck, I know what you mean about saying anything about the location, doesn't anything make me any more upset than people that do that. I have worked in the nursing field too and I had mine done in Monterrey Mexico, first time I was ever in Mexico in my life and self pay and I can say from my heart that my hospital was much better than the ones I have worked in and I was treated much much better in Mexico than ever in the States. I had a very complicated neck surgery over a year ago, and didn't have health insurance at the time and it was from a car wreck that wasn't my fault, and Ky. is a no fault State and after this complicated surgery I went to have stitches out and was scheduled for a visit 2 weeks later and they called me at home and said, unless you have the 29,000.00 to pay on your next visit we won't see you, so, after this major surgery, I never seen my surgeon again and had to see my pcp for this. I could never say enough good things about Dr. Sanchez and Mexico, it was a wonderful experience and I think unless someone has had they're surgery there and seen it firsthand they should not comment on this subject, it is a very sticky subject. Good luck on your journey, and kudos for Mexico.
-
I din't have to do any preop diet so luckily I didn't have that hurdle. It will get better, trust me. Once your banded and have a good fill food will not be a problem. I can eat bread and I've had 3 fills, I just don't eat it very, very seldom. It's just not an issue anymore. Good luck on your upcoming surgery and I will be thinking about you and hoping for you an uneventful surgery and a rapid recovery.

Hello From Tulsa, Oklahoma
beachgirl replied to tonya66's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi and congrats on your decision. It will be the best decision of your life. I was banded 3 months ago and have lost real close to 50 pounds and knock on wood have had NO problems. I had mine done in Mexico and am so pleased with my new tool. I agree with your husband, 2 women who had the surgery here where I live have died, and they were young women, such a shame. I was way to scared to have the bypass. Good luck on your journey and keep us informed and welcome to lapband world. -
I've never starved since surgery. I do have head hunger sometimes but it's much better. After your surgery and you get a good fill you will not obsess about food at all. I had mine done in Mexico so I'm not familiar with your surgeon, sorry. As far as cooking on Sundays, I do that as well, for my family and new granddaughter and you can still taste a little of everything but you just won't be able to hold much. It's enjoyable because food is just not what it use to be. Good luck, keep us informed.
