Well, I know, might deep subject for such a shallow mind. After I got done shopping all week in Nashville I noticed a sign that said Cinci was closer from there than from home, only 4 hours that way and I usually have to drive 5 so I didn't have an appt. but Dr. Curry's office is so fabulous they said just drive on up and we'll work you in. I only had to weight 5 min. and they called me back and I had only lost 5 pounds in the past 4 weeks so I told him I would like to go aggresive if possible this time, well I got my wish, LOL. He took me to 3 cc's in a 4cc's band, hit it first time, this is the first fill I swear I didn't feel a thing. He sprays it with numbing spray first. Well, I've been gone since Monday so I thought well, I will stay overnight and make sure I'm not too tight, plus he is speaking at a big seminar next weekend in Lexington and he told me if I was too tight just come to the seminar and he kinda laughed. IM TIGHT. It's kind of a good feeling but also scary. I've read all the horror stories. I mean I can still eat but like tonight I could go to mushies so I tried some pureed tuna fish and after 2 bites OMG, tight. They usually loosen up after 2 weeks so I hope this one is the one. Just thought I would share because I read all the time about how do you know if you have restriction well I now know that you WILL know. LOL. Hope everyone is doing great.

The first 6 weeks are for healing and healing only. You shouldn't even worry about weight loss, just getting everything all healed up and ready for a fill. Your right, everything lost now is just bonus. Just be patient.

Way to go Mary, don't those compliments make you feel great. I know my family was getting so tired of seeing me fat and I didn't even really in my heart realize how fat I was until now. Sad, I know. You go girl, if you get bored we'll run to walmart together and just shop til we drop.

I have been in Nashville shopping since yesterday for pants mostly. I went to Opry Mills, Rivergate, and 2 others, Macy's, Goody's, Penney's, Sears, you name it, all stretch jeans. Maybe I'm out of style but I don't like them. So, of all places I go to a Walmart and find Lee Riders, low rise jeans that aren't strectch. Now this may not be a huge NSV for some but I was in 24 jeans in July. I bought a pair of Regular 18's, not strectchy and not plus and a pair of 16's because I had lots of room in the 18's. I was so thrilled I let out a yep right there in the dressing room. Yahhhh, yahhhh. I'm so thrilled.

Okay guys, I've got to share my first nsv with you. As you might have read I'm in Nashville shopping until Thursday and I had looked at Opry Mills and 3 other huge malls for pants today. I went to Macy's, Penney's, Sears, Old Navy, Buckle, Aeropotale, Goody's, you name it and they were all stretch jeans and I may be out of style but I just don't like them. Finally of all places I found some Lee Riders, low rise at Walmart here in Nashville, so I went into the dressing rooms and took several sizes. The size that fit with extra room was an 18 regular, no stretch, no plus, just 18. I let out a yep that you could probably here all over the store. I bought them and a 16 for later. Now this may not mean much to you skinny people but I was in 24's 3 months ago so I'm so excited. Just had to share. I'm sitting here in the hotel on my laptop exhausted from all of the looking but it was soooo much fun. First time in years I didn't have to go to Lane Bryant.

OMG, I cried at the end of that. That is amazing.

Let me guess, Loritab or hydrocodone. Just a guess, I take it and when I had the 3rd degree burns and started taking it (still taking it due to neck and back surgery) that's when I started gaining weight. You might be taking something different but boy it affects me. Good to hear from you JQ, I've been worried about you.

I have bc/bs Anthem and my husband and I pay 619.00 per month and they wouldn't cover so I was self pay, but, it was the best decision of my life. Don't you just love your band. I would part with my cell phone, satellite, and dog before my band, LOL. Welcome.

Forever I was about the only Kentucky person on here and I got to here all of the Kentucky Fried chicken jokes, these people are soooo funny. If you have any questions please feel free to pm me. The surgery is a breeze and so is recovery. Combsie, I had mine done in Mexico and it was a wonderful wonderful experience. Dr. Sanchez is one of the most if not the most experienced doctor there is with putting in lapbands. He started in 1985 and has done more than 7000. Welcome, welcome, Kathleen, Hope your banding is going good. Once you have a good fill I promise you it will be much much better. It's only a month and the first 6 weeks are only for healing not losing weight so just bare with it. It will be a world of difference with a good fill. Welcome to the land of the banded.

I would say so. I have had 3 fills and am at 2.6 cc's in the 4cc low profile band and I finally have restriction, BUT, even though I don't eat these things on a basic's, my doctor just had me try a couple to see if I needed more fill, I can eat a small piece of thin pizza, very small, rice, and things that are saying I need another fill. I'm not a bread or rice eater but he had me try them just to see. I can eat almost a cup with no problem. I guess I will go for another fill before Thanksgiving. I have only slimed and pb'd twice and both times due to too large of pieces and not chewing enough.

He has sent me 2 and I got an email 2 weeks ago where they were sending another one. I only sent one email so you will probably get more than 1. They are a little on the large side but I've had 2 people already notice mine and ask about the band.

8500.00, including, two nights stay at Dr. Sanchez's guesthouse, hospital, preop, driver from airport to guesthouse, to hospital, back and to airport again and anywhere else we wanted to go. One of the most experienced surgeons in the world, done over 7000 lapbands, wonderful staff, free fills for life and I have the most wonderful follow care doctor in Cinci, so I couldn't be more pleased.

Your struggles are identical to mine: 1. definitely exercise 2. buying new clothes, liking the new styles, and knowing what size to get. 3. whoops, don't have the dating problem, lol, been married 25 years. I guess we all have a lot of the same and I know I've got to get over this exercise phobia soon.

I just wanted to welcome you as I can be of no help with the 2 years or DFW area thing as I was banded in Monterrey Mexico and was self pay as well. I have been banded a little over 3 months but I just wanted to tell you that it can be a life changing wonderful event. I just wished I'd had mine done couple years ago when I first heard about it.
