Hi Dre, I live in Eddyville Kentucky, so nice to meet you. I had surgery on July 10, 2006 and have lost 53 pounds. Isn't the band just wonderful. Mine is a little on the tight side right now but it will loosen up. Welcome to all you new banders.

Help?? 4 Days Post Op And Still The Pain
beachgirl replied to FullofGRACE's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Do you not have some liquid loritab for the pain? It did the job for me and I have 5 huge bottles left over. I only needed a few doses of it and felt much better. Call you doctor and have them prescribe you some if you think you need it. -
Zet, Don't let anyone try to change your mind if this is what you want. I've lost over 50 pounds in three months and even though I have at least 50 more to go you can't believe how much good it has done for me and this is a forever fix. It can stay in you and work with you until your dead and gone. As far as foreign objects, I have more metal in my neck and back and foot than this band takes up and what about crowns on your teeth, they're foreign. You just don't pay any attention to them. We'll all be supporting you here.

Thanks Beth for the info, I think like yourself I'm going to give it a little bit of time. I can still eat some things, especially late in the evening just not many foods and when I use to try to sneak in a sip of water while I was eating sometimes, I most definitely can't do that now. I'm hoping after losing a few pounds it will get better. Glad to hear your feeling better and yes, I'm a Cowboys diehard myself. Yes, Congrats Karik, and I hope everyone is doing well.

What size band do you have and what amount of fill do you have?
beachgirl replied to shell04937's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
9.75cm inamed lowprofile band with 3cc's fill. It took me four fills to get there but I'm almost positive I'm going to have to go for a very slight unfill. -
Yes, I was trying to start the day of surgery and it stopped dead in it's tracks, no flo. Completely missed the next month and had a hard one when it finally started the 3rd month. Congrats on your surgery and I wish you all of the luck in the world.

Okay everyone just call me old hardhead. I got my fourth fill last week putting me at 3cc's in the 4 cc's band. I was only losing 1 1/2 pounds a week so he said he would give me a tight one. Well, it's tight. I've pb'd almost everyday this week and can't get hardly anything down. It's also that TOM this whole time so I'm going to give it one more week. What do you all think? Hope everyone is doing great and losing. Wow, Thanksgiving is just around the corner.
-
I've got my 4th and I won't need anymore and am probably going to need a slight unfill for the first time. I'm going to give it one more week. My fills are 150.00 each here in the states, I had my surgery in Monterrey. I can tell I will need no more because I'm incredibly tight.

To fill or not to fill....
beachgirl replied to sunsreturn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just got my 4th fill and am now too tight. I'm getting stuck every single day. It's been that TOM since my fill so I'm going to give it one more week but I've pb'd about 5 times and I'm scared of messing up my band if this don't let up. -
info on free teal lap band bracelet
beachgirl replied to edieparks's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, I've received my 3rd one now from inamed. I think they just keep sending them. I've heard of several people getting more than one. -
Oh Lord, Kristen I feel for you. I've had neck and back surgery and I'm worse off than I ever was. I've lost over 50 pounds in the last 4 months and doesn't help a bit. I take Loritab 10's like they were candy and they've given up on anything helping me. I pray it will get better on it's on. The knife has ruined me.

Thanks Kat for always being there for us and getting these things together. I think it's perfect for us to get to know each other better. Please include me and I will pm you my info again if you need it.

Mine is on my left side about 3 inches under my breast. So far it has given me no problems at all. I can do sit ups or anything else. I'm 5'7", hope this helps and good luck on your banding.
-
If you wanting to have it done in Mexico they charged me 8500. but if your wanting it in the states I have one of the best fill doctors in the world and lots of people on here go to him and he does the bands and lots of them. If I'm not mistaken he charges 13,000. I can give you his web site if your interested. Good luck.

Mine comes out so bad in a bath that I have to scoop it all up with my hands and lay it on the side of the tub and I'm talking hands full. My hair was fairly long. So, I go get it all cut off to shoulder length, great, now I have to scoop up thousands of short hairs. Mine is coming out worse than my Mom's ever did with chemo, no joke.

In Need of Lap Band Surgery
beachgirl replied to ddsgrammy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Here's what I was talking about, I found it. Might be worth looking to. Just trying to help. FREE lap band update First off we'd like to thank everyone for their input on this gift of life as someone called it. We have turned all the legal issues over to our lawyer, he would like to see us make a loan to someone at say 2% interest over 10 years instead of just giving it away. Which we have not totally decide against this idea so.... We have decide to start the process by asking everyone interested to write a essay telling about themselves all the whatfors whys and how comes, tell us anything you might think will help our decision and why we should pick you. We also want you to know a little about us. Some have called us angels but really we're just normal people like you and yours. We have 3 children, 2 in college. We live in the Pacific Northwest in a small community. I am a stay at home mom and my husband drives truck, so you see we are not rich by any means, we just feel compelled to, as someone said, save a life. The biggest reason I think we decided to do this, after great discussion with our children is I read a post on this site (by I think Full of grace) of her pastor being in a fatal car crash due to the seat belt not fitting, I cried for hours after reading this and I asked myself what can I do to help a family not have to go thru this kind of tragedy. That's when I came up with this idea. So get your fingers going and drop a us a pm. The person we pick will be notified by on DEC 25th. We will keep posting to let you all know how its going. There will be a deadline date of DEC 15th, 2006 God Bless all. Amom & Adad -
We did eat a huge Mexican meal as we were in Mexico and there was no preop diet and we all 3 did just fabulous. I would enjoy my last meal and enjoy time with your husband. You'll be fine.
-
Bravo, Me three. I voted for all of the Bushes all of the times and wished to God he could run again. Can you imagine what kind of shape we would be in right now if Kerry had of gotten in, it's scary. I just pray what ever the Democrats do that they don't mess up all the years of our cleaning up.

In Need of Lap Band Surgery
beachgirl replied to ddsgrammy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
There was someone on here wanting to help pay for someone's banding that couldn't afford it just a few days ago, maybe that would be a route to try. My heart is with you, my insurance company turned me down and I was self pay in Mexico and after 4 fills and I have to stay overnight with each one I've got into the 20,000.00 cash mark and I know how hard it is. Keep trying and let all of us know if there's anything we can help you with. Congrats on your decision and keep in touch. -
If you have some good thoughts to spare...
beachgirl replied to Parvathi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My prayers are with you and hope for you a speedy recovery and pain free one. I also agree, with the liquid phase and then mushies and how you just don't have an appettite after surgery you'll get that extra off right off the bat. My thoughts and prayers are with you. hugs -
Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
beachgirl replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
1st one was 6 months before surgery 280 pounds, 2nd was last week at 218 pounds. -
Yes, I have the lowprofile port and they are wonderful and very easy to change. I would have it done at the same time and you won't have to have an extra surgery.

When you can have juices you can but when you can eat oranges make sure you take the membrane off before eating, same thing with grapefruits.

Don't worry one bit, it was much more simpliar than the crown work I had done. It's a very simple, easy to recover from surgery. I wish you all the luck in the world. Just stay positive and dont waste time worrying.
