My doctor wanted me to have one at 4 weeks. He then tells me if I need more to make sure and come back in 2 weeks as fills are essential for weight loss and being restricted. He's also very aggresive with fills which is great that way I don't waste lots of money on little bitty fills that do nothing. I would have a heart to heart with him and if he's not understanding I might look for another. Fills are very important in being the right amount at the right times.

If your hungry before 4 hours after eating a meal with your protein's first then veggies then if still hungry starch then you probably need a fill. I had that same problem but I was having no problem with pb'ing and stuff getting stuck. Now if your hungry some times but not all you might very well be having head hunger which is just as bad. Make sure you know for sure because you don't want to be too tight like me. I'm going to have to make the 10 hour drive for a unfill. I was losing great. At least 2 to 3 pounds per week and then a friend of mine who had the surgery same day with me in Mexico had more of a fill than me so I go get what she's got, big mistake. We're all different. Now my losing has stopped because I can't get my portein in. Good luck with your decision, but if your still losing I would leave it alone.

Oh please tell him not to do that. Im worried for him. I have been on this forum long enough to know that I've never heard of any surgeon okaying reg. food for at least one month. He can put all of this stress on his stomach and thus rip out his stitches. He can risk losing his band. Please try to talk him into at least mushies for now. Good luck.

Cell Phone Use in Mexico
beachgirl replied to HealthQuest's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine worked great in Monterrey Mexico. Plus my surgeon's guesthouse had a phone we could use that was free to call and receive calls from anywhere in the world free of charge. -

Even though I'm banded I love cookbooks, I love snowmen ornaments, and I love candles.

My hair has been coming out by the handfulls for 2 months. I got it cut about 6 inches hoping that would help and it's still horrible. I have very thick hair so it's not really noticable but boy when I take a bath I have to scoop all of the hair out first. I could have the tuna and chicken salad and pimento cheese in the processor and it was delicious and really kept me full. Good luck on your upcoming surgery.

Hi everyone, I passed one more kidney stone on Thanksgiving day, ouchhhhhh. I go back to my doctor tomorrow. Hope all goes well. It's been a rough ole week. My fill is still very tight. It's weird though. Some days nothing gets stuck and others everything gets stuck. I've been debating on getting about .2 taken out. Pretty sure I will since fills don't cost but boy that 10 hour drive. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and wish you a great week. Oh, those isopure drinks, they sold them at the GNC when I had surgery in Mexico and my surgeon swears by them. He said they kind of taste like liquid jello, is that true? I guess I need to buy some for those days nothing wants to go down. Have a great week everyone, Hugs,

Shopping for a Dr. in Mexico
beachgirl replied to Dakota1984's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
He is good but I would also like to recommend mine. He's done more than any surgeon. Dr. Rodolfo Sanchez in Monterrey Mexico. He does his in a hospital, not a clinic. He's done more than 7000 surgeries and not one death and less than 1 percent complication rate. He charges 8500.00 for surgery, preop tests, hospital stay, 2 night stay in guesthouse and transportation. Everything is included and free fills for life. Here is his website. www.ready4achange.com Please pm me if you have any questions. I also have pictures of guesthouse which is fabulous. They have all of your meals, drinks, supplements, meds, free internet to the states and free phone calls to states. They are fabulous and I have sent 6 people to them so far and no I do not work for them. LOL I get nothing out of recommending anyone except knowing they will be well taken care of. -
Hi Beth, I just wanted you to know, knock on wood, I'm over 4 months out and not the first problem. I wish you all the luck in the world. Nice to meet you.

Welcome Lapdancer, Good luck with your upcoming surgery and hope all goes well. This is the greatest site of all of them out there.

Me too, I don't want my stomach cut in half and intestines rerouted. I don't want the dumping, male absorption, and in a year in quit working. I've had two people who live with 30 min. of me die from the bypass. One was in intensive care on life support for over 30 days. She was 30 the other for 41. I love the band's adjustibility, the always there for you and the continued weight loss. No question in my mind. Band only.

Did you have to have an endoscopy pre-op??
beachgirl replied to jillrn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
None for me either. Just blood work and that was it. -
I know how you feel. My mother was diagnosed Feb.14, 2005 with non hodkins lymnphona, stage 3, no hope. She's been in remission for over a year now. It is beatable. But, I like you had severe pain that put me in the floor crying last sat. morn, am. I was screaming, kicking, crying. I had my husband rush me to the er. I was having left side lower back and front side lower left. When I got there they took a urine sample and I told them Mom had cancer and I was probably eat up. I had a cat scan and as soon as it was done I ask the person giving it, it's cancer isn't it. She said well, I don't know what all that stuff is in your stomach, it looks like tubes and a port for chemo. I laughed and then told her about my band. She said no, its not cancer it's kidney stones. So they kept me knocked out with Morphine and deladin and now I'm better. It's just crazy how when you have a family member with cancer you think every pain is cancer. Hope your feeling better soon.

I had to stay overnight, there was no choice. Most do stay overnight. I don't think you'll have a problem at all especially if you ask for an afternoon surgery.

Banded on Monday, work on Thursday, riding 4 wheelers all day long on trails on day 10. Everyone is different just heal at your own pace. There's no award for trying to do things too soon.

That's ridiculous. I have 3cc's in my 4cc's band. I'm very tight but you've got loads of room left. I agree with everyone else, you need to find another fill doctor. Don't let them screw you out of your money, find someone else.

Considering Surgury-HELP
beachgirl replied to BabyGotBack's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Mine will do it for only 30 pounds overweight. Dr. Rodolfo Sanchez in Monterrey Mexico. He charges 8500.00 and has done over 7000 surgeries and been doing them since 1985 in Sweden then 1995 in Mexico. He is fabulous and the sweetest man you'll ever meet. That covers everything including free fills for life. You can call them and have your surgery in 2 weeks usually. -
When I have the fluro I just lay on a table with my clothes and jewelry on and this machine that point it over my stomach and I don't drink anything. Then you can plainly see my band, tubing and port and he just pokes the needle in my port and in 10 sec. it's done.
-
I had mine done by Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey Mexico as have lots of people on here. Mine was 8500.00 and free fills for life. He's done more than anyone in the world that I've researched. He's done over 7000. I've had no problems. I see a fill doctor in Cinci which isn't far from you and he's the best too as far as I'm concerned, he's done thousands as well. He's the Dr. C that answers all of our questions on here. He is wonderful if your looking for someone as well to do your surgery. I'm not sure on his cost but he's good. Here's is website www.thebanddoctor.com Hope this helps.

I was denied by them too and was self pay in Mexico. If I was use I would file an appeal. You have the comorbities as I did but I just didn't want to keep waiting is the only reason I did the self pay. If you don't mind waiting I would fight them. Good luck and let us know how things go.

How much can you eat.....
beachgirl replied to cher3150's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't eat any breakfast, I can usually eat about 1/2 cup for lunch, and maybe 1/2 cup to 1 cup for supper. -
how should I feel & what to eat now?
beachgirl replied to Katgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Kat, I'm very, very tight so I know what you mean. I love oats for breakfast, If I'm really tight I use my little mixer thing you put down in a glass and puree them some and for lunch I love making sweet potatoes, those kind in a can and add some of that splenda brown sugar and butter and then mix them with a mixer after they're cooked and then put a couple of marshmallows on top, it is to die for. Just a few ideas that I use. Hope your feeling better soon.
