What happens if you switch coverage?

I would fight them tooth and nail if I were you. It's not a reversal so maybe you can find a loophole. From what people on here told me after I was turned down by my insurance and just went to Mexico and paid cash that if I had of fought them you usually win.

What do you think of Walmarts Drug program???

I agree. My pcp prescribed me Lunesta last week because since getting my band I can't sleep at night. I went to get it filled and mind you we pay those idiots at Anthem BC/BS 619.00 per month as we're self employed, and they said Anthem doesn't cover this and it's 165.00 per month. I told them to just forget it and I would just use tylenol pm. It's ridiculous.

    Constipation & Pain

Try colace, not positive on the spelling, they sell it at Walmart and they sell a cheaper generic version that works just as well. Take a couple every single day even if you're not having trouble and it will make you regular again. I had 3rd degree burns 2 years ago and was on a lot of oxycotin, loritab, and stuff and it really makes you constipated and that's what my skingraft doctor put me on.

    November/Christmas Goal

I was really really hoping to be at 200 for Christmas, that means another 18 pounds to go but at this point I don't see that happening so I guess I'll have to stick with 207, about halfway. We'll see.
  6. I would be really upset, embarrassed and sick. I was always at 5'8" around 130 pounds until about 5 years ago. I was given a basketball scholarship, played softball, and all kind of sports. I was in great shape, then I just let myself gain, gain, and did I say gain. I know I will never even get close to that again but with my band I can try to get as close as possible.

    Eating Frosty's Standing Up!

Wow, That sure sounds familiar. Before I got my first unfill this week, only .4 taken out if I tried to eat anything it would get stuck and the only way I could get comfortable and try to keep it down was to stand up or walk. If I tried to sit down the pain was horrible. Now, with just that .4 taken out I can eat anything again. I guess it's better that way and just use more willpower.

    {sigh} Hello Everyone

Can you refinance your home? Sometimes you can borrow enough in equity and pay for your surgery and your payment go up very little if any at all.

    Scared of main board!

Same here, no problems whatsoever. There was a post made about a month ago about people who'd had complications and people who hadn't, it was like 1 % who had problems versus 99 % who didn't have any. If I can find it I will post it for you. The great things the band helps you do far out weighs the bad. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

    Help!

Yes, this too shall pass, but, there's always a but right? I didn't have any of the problems your having but I'm concered that you can't get liquids down. Are you sipping very slowly. I had to sip very very slow when I was on liquids. You have to be able to get some liquids down or you'll end up dehydrated. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

    Dr. Sanchez

I talked to alma on Monday and was trying to get funeral arrangements because myself and another girl that was banded by him wanted to go there to see the family and everyone at the guest house. They are so upset and dumbfounded. I cried and cried Monday. He was just the sweetest, kindest more generous surgeon I've ever met let alone the best in the world for the lapband surgeries. They had just told me in July that the reason Dr. Z was taking over most of the surgeries was he wanted to semi retire, he's done more than 7000 on the band surgeries and was just tired. I hope they catch and put to death whomever done this. Will let everyone know more when I know more.

    Dr. Sanchez, murdered!

Bless your heart you've been through pure hell. I'm so glad your in remission. I agree you shouldn't at all be emabarrassed. You've been through a lot and it sounds like you had your priorities straight and I think now would be the perfect time to get your band up and running. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. My mother was diagnosed with Stage 3 non hodgkins lymphoma (sp) in Feb. 2005 and has been in remission for over a year now. Keep up the faith and give me a yell if you ever need someone to talk with.
  15. 3 weeks and 4 days for me. Then I could get one every 2 weeks after that.
  16. Here's the thread I started several months ago about the surgery, Mexico versus States, hope it helps. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/mexico-states-t19148.html?t=19148&highlight=Mexico+the+United+States
  17. Yep, I've hard 4 fills and one unfill and it's just like getting a shot, no scar from that whatsoever, and the scars them self are all tiny and in fact you can't even see 2 of mine and then the port scar is about 1 1/2 in.

    Getting close to deciding

Good luck with whomever you decide on. It will be a life changing event no matter who does it. It was the best thing I've ever done for myself in my life. I'm just so sorry Dr. Sanchez can't do them for anyone now. We have lost a wonderful, wonderful surgery with the death of him. I'm having a real hard time getting over this.

Offical Christmas Exchange Thank You Thread

Boy oh boy oh boy, Do I ever have the best gift picker outer in the world. Thank you soooooo much Kat. I received the prettiest, best smelling candles and then a huge floating Santa candle that you have ever seen in your life. I will post a picture when I get a chance. They are the kind that look and smell too pretty to use but I'm going to make myself use them. Your a doll Kat and thank you sooo much. I sent mine out today and it's going to, thought I was going to tell didn't you.
  20. I would say it would be fine because the day we arrived in Mexico to have our surgeries Dr. Sanchez started us that day on antibiotics and we were to take them that day and the next day before surgery and then 2 days afterwards. So I would say your fine because we were put on them before surgery too.

    Cincinnati here/questions

I don't know but Dr. Curry is the best of the best as far as I"m concerned. I drive 10 hours round trip to him to get my fills. Although they're are many doctors lots closer I only trust him with my port and band.
  22. Yes, so so sad but true. I called Alma today to find out funeral arrangements and see how his wife is doing and he was brutally murdered Saturday. Dr. Suzanne was with him. He went to his ranch to pay his ranch hands and as he was leaving he was shot twice in the back. He was bleeding bad but made it to the hospital, but before they could do surgery he bled to death. They lodged in his stomach. He was such a dear dear sweet man. Kindest most knowledgable surgeon there was with the lapband. He will be sadly missed. One of the girls I had surgery with wants to fly down with me this weekend. Will let everyone know more when I know more. Please pray for his precious sweet wife and family.

    What's in a Name

Okay everyone, This is a very cute thread. My name is Sherri Jo and my dad ever since I can remember has called me Mysherrijo and it just stuck. I mean to this day if I call him on the phone he'll say to my Mom, Becky it's my sherrijo. Been banded since 7/10/06 and luving it.

Too Stitch Or Not Too Stitch??

Yes they have to stitch it into place so that it doesn't slip. I knew what he was asking, I was just giving additional info since I'm already banded and know how they did mine.
  25. Me either, I just wished I had of had mine done years ago. The band stays in you until death unless you just want it out. It's like a port my uncle has had for hemophiliac for 30 years. It has given me a second chance at life and has been the most wonderful thing I could have ever done.
