Oh Boy I Want To Fill Better!!!
beachgirl replied to darrell's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try something like hot tea, that helped me a lot. It sounds like gas. Also, make sure you sip and not gulp, that too may help and walk. -
George Bush: Worst American president in history
beachgirl replied to Sunta's topic in Rants & Raves
I agree 100 percent. I could have swore this was a lapband forum. Oh well. Before Bush my husband and I had to live on 60,000 a year and with two kids. Since Republican's have had office our income has doubled and stayed that way. So, no, I wouldn't vote Democratic even if the cows came home. So bash away bash away all you like. I'm Republican and proud of it. End of story as far as I'm concerned. -
I'd say mine was a 2. Didn't need anything for pain. Good luck and hope your feeling better soon.

George Bush: Worst American president in history
beachgirl replied to Sunta's topic in Rants & Raves
Well, everyone is entitled to they're opinion. I suggest everyone watching the World Trade Center or United 93 and think well, we all wanted to do something that day, put up our flags and said we'll get you saddum and now lots of soldiers are losing they're lifes and it's so easy to say, It's that damn President. Well, I admire him for standing up and not hiding like Clinton did. If they did it on 9/11 and you just say oh well, hopefully they won't do it again, that's just plain wrong. Our budget is better than it's been since Carter. He got us in a real jam financially and now we're in great shape compared to then, let's just see where we're at in 8 more years after the democrats have had a hold of things, I promise you, it won't be good. I guess when abortion is finally the only way to go, and gays and lesbians and the go and legally in everystate the go then we'll be where the democrats wanted us to be. Just mho and we're all entitled to that. -
He says no more than 20 grams of protein per day. I was eating around 60 to 80 tops. My blood pressure runs about 134 over 80 or so. Never higher but lots of times way lower. I know it seems like a damned if you do damned if you dont. I really think my drinking is the biggest problem. I hate water, although I drink it and I am just never ever thirsty. I mean I could go all day without drinking but of course I don't. I am really really trying to drink more. Thank you for all of your well wishes. I really don't think since it's been 3 weeks and it hasn't moved any that it's going anywhere. I've had 4 surgeries in 2 years and I don't want another so I'm just doing a lot of praying at this point.

First Fill Advice: No restriction
beachgirl replied to irwinlaura's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm with Becky. I have the 4cc's Inamed low profile band and it took me 3 fills to get to 1.6cc's and I'm perfect right now. I had my 4th fill and went to 2 cc's and was so tight I couldn't eat any meat and pb'd every meal so had a unfill to 1.6cc's and it's the sweet spot for me. Just be patient, you'll get there but don't worry something's wrong you just don't have enough fill yet. -
4 guys, LEONA, naughty, naughty, naughty. See what loosing weight and looking hot does for you. I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. Is he doing better? Lord I know how attached you can become, they're like kids except they behave much better. I'm feeling better today. I got an email from a Doctor on a yahoo board for kidney stones and he says he doesn't think my stone will pass it's too big. He says the only options are where they go up in you and try to pull it out and he says it's unbearably painful or surgery. I'm not up for either one of those. God, my luck just keeps getting worse. Hope everyone is doing well. I sure didn't make my Christmas goal. Oh, well, this too shall pass. Beth, your running off and leaving me with your weight loss your suppose to wait for me. LOL.

George Bush: Worst American president in history
beachgirl replied to Sunta's topic in Rants & Raves
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the president. In essence 2/3s of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. So being the knuckle dragger I am, I starting thinking, ''What we are so unhappy about?'' Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter? Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job? Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year? Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state? Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter? I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all involved. Whether you are rich or poor they treat your wounds and even, if necessary, send a helicopter to take you to the hospital. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home, you may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of having a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and your belongings. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes; an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90 percent of teenagers own cell phones and computers. How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world? Maybe that is what has 67 percent of you folks unhappy. Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here. I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled brats safe from terrorist attacks? The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me? Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an ''other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable'' discharge after a few days in the brig. So why then the flat out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells. Just ask why they are going to allow a murderer like O.J Simpson to write a book and do a TV special about how he didn't kill his wife but if he did . insane! Stop buying the negative venom you are fed everyday by the media. Shut off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is exponentially more good than bad. I close with one of my favorite quotes from B.C Forbes in 1953: ''What have Americans to be thankful for? More than any other people on the earth, we enjoy complete religious freedom, political freedom, social freedom. Our liberties are sacredly safeguarded by the Constitution of the United States, 'the most wonderful work ever struck off at a given time by the brain and purpose of man.' Yes, we Americans of today have been bequeathed a noble heritage. Let us pray that we may hand it down unsullied to our children and theirs.'' I suggest we sit back and count our blessings for all we have. If we don't, what we have will be taken away. Then we will have to explain to future generations why we squandered such blessing and abundance. If we are not careful this generation will be known as the ''greediest and most ungrateful generation.'' A far cry from the proud Americans of the ''greatest generation'' who left us an untarnished legacy. -
I have a question about restriction. Thanks
beachgirl replied to Jodi-T's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with Jack. I would say there's lots of swelling going on. Enjoy your restriction. -
Hey guys, I'm backkkkkkk. After posting Thursday I starting hurting again and fell to my knees screaming in pain. I went back to the ER and they admitted me again, 2nd time in a month. I was trying to pass another stone. I was so worried it was more because the pain was so horriffic. I came so close to passing out. Friday they ran that test, I think it was called IQT or something like that. It is where they run the dye into you. They found the culprit. A big stone, too big to pass, about 6 mm. It has just left my kidney and stuck in that tube the uretha. They said it was lodged sideways. So praise God that's all that's wrong other than my kidney's enlarged and very distressed but they said it's because of the blockage. I see a specialist Thursday and they'll decide about taking it out. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. I missed you guys so much. Weird thing is they said that protein is what was causing mine. Eating too much protein. That's just great for a bandster isn't it. lol Well, just proud to be home and so far no pain. My luck it will start back up Christmas. Love you all,

Same here. I take meds on a regular basis.

You don't have to constantly pull your shorts out of your well you know where when you walk and they ride up. You can paint your own toenails You don't go into cardiacarrest during sex

It was just on here a while back where the woman had her's replaced I can't remember who it was but after they replaced her tubing she brought her old tubing home and her husband filled it with water and red food coloring and you could see several holes where it was just pouring out. I know with my band and fills I am up to over 15,000.00 cash and I sure don't want to have to have mine replaced. The first fill I got after poking three times he took me to fluro and hit it right off. To me even though some docs don't like using the fluro for the extra time envolved it's the safest way to go.
-
Are you thinking you have one? I seen on here a while back where a lady had a leak and she got to bring her tubing home and her and her husband put red food coloring and water in the tube and you could see several little puncture holes where it got poked during fills and she had to have her's replaced. It showed how easy it would be for someone not knowing what they're doing and not using fluro how easy it would be to ruin someone's band. I'm sure your like me when your self pay and pay close to 10 grand for your band and then all the money for fills you want to make dang sure whomever is doing your fills knows what they're doing.

Congrats and way to go, You look awesome. I hope a year from now I can have the same results. Keep up the wonderful work.

Good to hear from you Leona, I worry about you when we don't hear from you. I too was on the depo and that is when my weight loss started. I am glad to hear your off of it. Guys I know there are some people on here who don't like for us to complain about our lives but I just needed some pick me up and to whine I guess. As you know I'm suffering to death with kidney stones. They just won't go away. When I was in the hospital those 5 days my husband spent maybe 30 min.s to one hour each evening at the hospital with me and would fall asleep and start snoring so loud I would have to wake him up. I have taken such wonderful care of my Mom with her cancer bout, cooked for her 7 days a week, kept the house clean. When my daughter gave birth to our first grandchild last year, I stayed the first 2 weeks with her and kept the baby with me at night so she could sleep. I didn't have one visitor while in the hospital those 5 days except for my husband's 30 min. daily visits and one visit from my daughter. Yes, it hurt my feelings. This morning I woke up at 5am hurting very bad and told my husband that I was really scared I had something worse like cancer because I was hurting soooo bad. He was on his way to work and said "will you shut up about the damn cancer, I've heard about cancer all I want too. Quit your crying and bellyaching and then left. I just sat down and cried. I know it's probably not cancer but my grandmother 4 years ago had a piece of kidney removed because of cancer then my Mom so naturally I'm just a little concerned. I guess I'm just a baby but I take such good care of everyone and I just don't feel like he should have been so nasty and then just walk out and leave. We've been married for 25 years but he just has NO compassion for me any more. Sorry to vent was just so hurt.

Unfilled & Can't Keep Anything Down
beachgirl replied to fabfatgrl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not with my surgeon. I had my first unfill last week and he said eat as usual. Hope everyoneis feeling better soon. -
Oh please send me a praline, I think I could eat that too. LOL. Thanks for the info Beth. I had no clue about the meds. After I read your post I looked it up on the internet and it's not all in my head. Now to just teach myself that's not an excuse to eat but I do believe I would have to have a praline. Good night all.

Way to go Beth, That rocks. I would fall over with a heartattack if I lost 5 pounds. Mine has come to a hault. Thanks Karik, I'm glad I'm not the only one that does that. I am also taking a high dose of prednisone and I swear I think it makes me want to eat. Cool, now I'm blaming it on my meds. I do need help. Keep up the weight loss everybody and maybe mine will be back soon.

Two Days After Surgry & Hurting
beachgirl replied to Scorpio's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG, I thought I had read it wrong. Please, don't be eating and only a few days after surgery. You could loose your band or ruin it. Stick to your surgeons orders and stay on the liquids. I hope everything turns out okay for you.
