In one sentence: The best thing I've experienced since being banded is....
beachgirl replied to Lap_dancer's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Having my old clothes literally fall off of me to the floor and not being hungry. -
Congrats on getting things ready, You will love your band. I wouldn't part with mine. Hope everything goes fast for you. I had insurance but they wouldn't pay so I had to use savings account, so I'm very proud for you. Good luck.

MyLifeNewChoices

Welcome Ashley and John, You are such a cute couple and very cute love. You are making a great decision in your life. I'm 42, so lots older than you and I'd tried every diet known to mankind and couldn't loose 5 pounds. I lost 60 pounds the first 5 months after banding. It's slowed down lots this month but I've had severe kidney stones and been in the hospital quite abit. Good luck and you'll love your band. Welcome. -
Yes, lets have a Valentine's day goal. I missed Christmas's goal bigtime. I will be more conservative this time around. Let's see, I say I'll be at 205 by Valentines Day. That's my goal.

Beth, Your such a sweetie. I got the best goodies in the mail yesterday. OMG, are you a awesome cook. I've got you a little something coming too. You are such a wonderful friend. I haven't been on much, I've suffered to death with these kidney stones and guess what. Yesterday I finally passed it. It's over 1/2 inch long and has like cucaburs all over it. No wonder I was suffering. Thank you so much for the goodies. I did let my husband have one and he said, is she married? I smacked him real good. LOL. Hope your having a great New Year. I told you I wouldn't stay at 212. I weighed 215 this morning. That really sucks. Oh well, I guess I'll have to kick in into high gear. Love ya girlfriend,

Happy New Year Dr. Curry, I hope you have a great year. I will probably be seeing you sometime this month as I think I may need a slight fill. Have a great day. One of your very happy patients,

Wow! I had no idea about Mexico banding.
beachgirl replied to luv2bingo07's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree. I was banded in Mexico by a surgeon who's done more than 7000 of these. He started in Switzerland in 1985, in Mexico in 1995 and is wonderful. I had my testing done and everything was wonderful. I went to 2 seminars here in two huge hospitals, Vanderbilt University and Baptist and they had both done less than 100 surgeries, this was a no brainer for me. A surgeon who'd done 90 surgeries or one who had done 7000. -
Please give Dr. Curry a call. He's just a hour from you and he's my doctor and he's fabulous and done lots of these. I drive 5 hours each way to see him. I would sure check him out if I was you. www.thebanddoctor.com

Go see Dr. C. He does mine and he hits it right off and you don't feel a thing. He and his staff are wonderful. I wouldn't let anyone touch mine but him. I was self pay and after investing counting fills 12,000.00 you want to make sure the person doing them knows what he or she knows what they are doing.

Weight loss question
beachgirl replied to Oregondaisy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm taking them and have lost 61 pounds in 5 months. I don't think it will affect you much if any. Good luck. -
I would go ahead and get the earlier date. That gives you a couple of weeks to get ahead. I had only 2 days of downtime and even during those 2 days I cleaned house, did laundry and all of that stuff. It's really a easy surgery.

I have the Inamed lowprofile 9.75cm band that hold's 4 cc's. I have had 4 fills that put me at 2.00cc's but one month after the last fill I had to have a slight unfill, was way too tight and now I'm at 1.60 cc's and it is perfect.

Poll: How many travelled to surgery and back on your own?
beachgirl replied to marjon9's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was there in Mexico with Amy (funny) and another lady and she came by herself and had no problems at all. You can tell them to have you a wheelchair ready at the airport but the walking is good for you. I think you would be fine. -
Steri-Strip Fall off Time
beachgirl replied to IlliterateJedi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I pulled mine off after about a week. He said wait a week and if they hadn't already came off I could pull them off. They used that purple glue on me instead of staples or stitches and it's been 5 months and you can barely find my scars. -
I am a Bush supporter but I promise you it wasn't me. I even had to leave that thread because if your a Bush supporter you will get bashed and I didn't come bo lbt for that sort of thing. I would post whoever it was so that everyone can be cautious at this person. Sorry this happened to you. I'd say about 99% of everyone on here is supportive but there is always a couple to ruin everything for everyone.

Don't be upset. That's what is soooo good about the band. It is always there ready to help you with your weightloss. Don't even dwell on it. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start again. Good luck, you'll be fine.

Hey babygotback, I know on the other ones you just copy and paste from the letters img - img. Hope this works.

Yep, it's sad but true. He was my surgeon as well. I called his office Thanksgiving week and talked to them to make sure it was true and it is. He was shot twice in the back while on his ranch.

Dr. Curry is the best, I drive 10 hours round trip to see him. I love him. He's so good and he know's what he's doing. Go to his website and they'll help you. They're very helpful. www.thebanddoctor.com

Where will you see the referral amount at?

Welcome and take care of yourself. I've been in the hospital 9 days in the past month for being dehydrated.

Has anyone used Cincinnati Weight Loss Center?
beachgirl replied to Olivia3031's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Dr. Curry does his himself. I really wished you would give him a looking into. He really is great. I wouldn't make the 10 hour round trip when there is 6 surgeons that would do mine here locally if I didn't know how great Dr. Curry is. -
Most people don't seem to have a problem with it but I have had. I've been hospitalized twice in the past 4 weeks with kidney stones and severely dehydrated because I'm just not hungry or thirsty and just can't drink a whole lot. I was given 13 bags of fluid the first time in 5 days and 8 bags the second time. Just try to remember to drink drink drink.

I'mmm baaaaack and still not a bandster
beachgirl replied to luv2bingo07's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi there Judy, I sure hate it that your having so much trouble. I too had the exclusion and went to Mexico. If there's anyway you could come up with 8500.00, that would pay for everything you need. Why don't you contact a good friend of mine who does all of the scheduling and she can possibly help you with financing. Her name is Judy and tell her that Sherri Smith told you to get in touch with them. My experience is on here on several threads and has been as perfect as it gets. They have one of the best surgeons in the world and a huge hospital, not a clinic and free lifetime care. The website is www.ready4achange.com and pm me if you have any questions or if I can help you at all. Good luck and keep up the faith. -
