Hi there and congratulations on your decision to get banded. It has been the best decision of my life. I too went to Mexico, I live in Kentucky and had NEVER been to Mexico but let me tell you my experience and then of course you do what you need to do for yourself. I went to 3 seminars here and the 3 had done less than 300 surgeries each and I had health insurance Anthen BC/BS but I went to Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Zapata at www.ready4achange.com They were wonderful. They've done over 7000 each and it was 8500.00 for everything including one person to go with you, food, your stay, and your chaffeur. Surgery was 45 min. and recovery one hour, left 18 hrs. later to the guesthouse of the Dr. and then one more night there and then flew home. I've had absolutely no problems. I needed to loose 100 pounds, I'm 5'7" and I lost 40 the first 3 months and another 25 the next 3 months and an well over half way. If your looking for a doctor here I know it's far away from you but he's the Surgeon who answers all of the complications questions on here and you can search his name and he is Dr. Trace Curry. If I'd known about him before I would have gone to him. He's my fill doctor and he's topnotch. He's got an excellent price and done many, many. He's in Cincinatti Ohio and I'll give you his info. Oh I do to and just love him, Charity, Erin, well entire staff. I just seen them last Tuesday. He's topnotch and one of the sweetest, more kind, caring, considerate surgeon's I've ever met. He actually sits down and talks to you like your a person not just a number. If anyone is looking for the best then Dr. Trace Curry is it.

I got up to 2.0 in Nov. was banded in July 06, and was too tight and had my first unfill back to 1.6 cc's in the 4cc's inamed low profile band. I went last week and went back up to 1.9cc's and am tight. I've already pb'd 2 times in 4 days. This will probably be the most I get.

I probably won't be on here as much as I use to as I am having huge, huge, major family issues and my life couldn't be anymore upset than it is right now. I hope everything get's worked out but at this point I really don't know. I hope everyone is doing great and I sure miss talking with everyone. Take care everyone and I really hope my weight loss kicks back in but at this point it's the last priority and I know that is horrible but I can't help it right now. I have a thread started about Mexico versus States. You should read it, it's very interesting. I too had health insurance but got tired of trying to jump through hoops and the 3 major hospitals I checked into here had all done less than 300 surgeries and I didn't feel confident enough with that so I started looking into Mexico. I researched them for months and after finding the surgeon who had done them the longest I went with him. He is Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Zapata in Monterrey Mexico. They charge 8500.00 and that includes absolutely everything including food and another person to go with you and they do theyre's in a large full scale trauma hospital. They've done more than 7000 surgeries and are wonderful and have financing. They're are several other good ones but I didn't use them but there are people who I know of one who will definitely chime in and tell you they're experiences. Just do lots of research and you'll be fine. Besides Dr. Zapata I have heard that Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Kuri are both good as well respectively. Good luck and PM me if you have any questions.

Yes Yoda I would agree, I see your fairly new and I don't recall telling YOU, what YOU should or shouldn't do. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to know that MOST people would rather have a more experienced surgeon. I had insurance, Anthem BC/BS and I self paid in Mexico because after going to 3 meetings and meeting with 3 surgeons they'd all done less than 300 and I wasn't prepared to be a guinea pig and I had the money so I opted for someone who'd been doing this since 1985. Once you've been here a while you'll learn not to take everything soooooo personal. Chill.

I was there about 18 hours.

I had hundred's and hundred's on dollars worth of food that I gave away in August. I had absolutely no luck with it. The food was horrid. I'll take the band anytime over NS. They have forums on they're just like here and it's free to join.

Make sure whoever you choose uses a full scale hospital in case of something going wrong even though complications rate is below 1percent. Make sure your surgeon doesn't use a small clinic or something. Dr. Zapata in with Dr. Sanchez uses the Santa Agracias Hospital and it is a big, full scale, trauma unit that our President uses if there in Mexico and has any problems. Then, also make sure you use someone who's done thousands and not hundreds. Do your homework and you'll be fine. I know my surgeon had done more than 7000 and Dr. Ortiz has done bunches too just make sure on the hospital and not a clinic and I wish you good luck and if you have any questions pm me. I had mine done in Monterrey Mexico and absolutely no problems. Paid 8500 for absolutely e verything and have lost almost 70 pounds in 6 months. Good luck.

Go to www.tickerfactory.com Pick out what you want and when it comes to the last page you copy and paste ONLY the first one. They will have 3 or 4 there listed. Then, ONLY copy from the letters IMG to the next IMG Next, go to user cp and go to edit signature Go to the bottom and right click on paste and then save settings Should work everytime this way, Hope I've helped a little.

Hi everyone, I got my fill today and am still at the hotel. It's like 1:30 AM here and I will probably be going back home tomorrow. I had him put in .3 after having .4 taken out month ago. I look back on it now and should have never had it taken out because I was getting stuck but now I can eat absolutely anything but can still get stuck and I've figured out I eat too fast, too big of bites and don't take my time. Dr. Curry calls it operator error, lol. I think this will help me start losing again. Would you believe it's been a month and I was the exact same weight. Didn't loose one ounce. I was really aggravated but I've never gained a pound since surgery in July so I guess it's half and half. I am really ready to start exercising and getting serious about this again. That's what is soooo great about our bands they are always there for us. Hope everyone is doing good and congrats, Decked out on your clothes size. I hope to one day be back in a 10. I have the 9.75cm inamed lowprofile band that holds 4 cc's and I'm doing great. As I am typing this I'm in my hotel room in Cincinatti Ohio and am going for my 4th fill in the morning. I currently have 1.6cc's and have some restriction and lost 50 pounds the first 4 months but it's really slowed down. I know 4 people personally that have the smaller band. They usually use it for smaller patients with smalled belly fat. Your not the only one, lol. How are you doing?

Yep, little far but I'm going to the bash in April back to Mexico. I am going for a fill Monday. I for the first time in 6 months am hungry all the time and am not losing and can eat a horse with no problems. I cancelled it last week but am driving up Sunday and spend the night and getting a fill on Monday. I've got 1.6 in a 4 cc band but I do believe it's evaporated. I hope he uses omniplast this time. Hope everyone is doing great or at least better than me.

I've been on Nextel, Sprint, Verizon and Cingular and after having been on all I'll give you my humble opinion. Verizon is the worst and Cingular is the best. Verizon if you damage or loose your phone they want you to buy a new one from them at huge prices, Cingular you can buy off ebay, get one from a friend, at a yard sale or whatever and just put in your sims card. Plus, 2 different times on Cingular and I've been with them for 5 years now my son got download and internet happy and run our bill up to 1300.00 last month and they gave me 2 courtesy credit so far taking off the 1169.00 he ran up on my bill and didn't make me pay it. They have been great. The other time my bill was 400.00 and they took off 125.00 credit.

I'm with you. I am scheduled for a fill on Monday. For the first time since surgery I have gained 2 pounds this month and am constantly hungry. The past 6 months I have never just been plain hungry until now and I am not staying full for very long. I sure hope I don't have trouble, hoping just need a fill. I've got 1.6cc in the 4cc band.

No, but after my lapband surgery, Dr. Sanchez said my liver was fatty. Don't know what to do about it, I didn't ask. I've lost 60 pounds so I hope that's helping it some.

Since Dr. Sanchez has passed away his partner Dr. Zapata is taking over and doing all surgeries. He's just as experienced and done over 4000 and trained several U.S. surgeons.

I am 5'8" and weighed 270 before surgery. No one ever noticed until I had lost 50 pounds which put me at 220. Then everyone was saying something.

Yes, Texas is just a 45 min. flight to Monterrey. Dr. Zapata and Dr. Sanchez's office have done more surgeries than anyone in the world. They've proctored 45 doctors in the United States. They have a hugh hospital, not clinic, this is very important. Lot's of surgeons are doing lapbands in small clinics and if you had any problems you'd be in a mess. Santa Agrasia is the same hospital our President goes to if he has an illness while in Mexico. They're very competitive price wise. It's 8500.00 and that includes everything. Hotel stay, all Hospital fees and doctor's fee, transportation from airport, to hotel, to hospital and anywhere else you'd like to go. food while your they're for the patient and juices, bottled Water, free phone use to the U.S. and as much as you want to talk and free internet. They are soooooo friendly. The doctor also gives you his cell phone number and his home number and I've called his twice with questions and talked to my surgeon, not a receptionist, try getting that here. I have pictures of the hospital, guesthouse and everything while I was there. I lost 50 pounds the first 4 months and I've had absolutely not the first problem. You sound exactly like I was going through. I got my 4th fill Thanksgiving week and I thought I was too tight because I was pbing and sliming every single day so I make the 10 round trip back get a slight unfill stay overnight in a hotel and now month later I can eat anything and everything. Hindsight in 20/20 but now since I'm loose I think I just wasn't chewing well enough so now I'm leaving again Thursday morning for another fill to put me back where I was. A very expensive mistake to say the least plus that long drive. This time I'm going to keep my fill and cut my meat in tiny pieces and slow down some on my eating. Good luck.
