I went to Mexico and Dr. Zapata is wonderful. There are several good ones there. I lost 50 pounds the first 6 months and just love my band. Good luck with your decision.

Don't give up just yet, maybe everyone on here can put our heads together and can come up with something that could help. I too had bc/bs and so I had to self pay and they don't even pay for any fills, fluro, nothing and I've been out about 15k so far. I wiped our savings account out and we're in the middle of building a house so it will take longer now to finish it. What about 2nd mortgage or capital one health loan, it was at 2 percent. My surgery in Mexico was just 8500.00 with free fills for life and it's 7500.00 all this month. Pm me if I can help you any and good luck.

Yes, it was for me too. I tried laying on my side opposite of the port and tried using lots of pillows and that helped soooo much for me.

I know how you feel, I too was self pay as were lots of us. I was on liquids one week, then to mushies on second week, third week I could have fish and fourth week on to regular foods. Just stick to what your doc suggests because they are all different and expect different things. Good luck and you'll do great.

I usually know it's probably going to happen and at that point I get up and walk around with my arms up over my head and that sometimes helps and then the sliming starts and after 15 min if I'm still hurting I just go ahead and throw up and get it over with. It's nothing like when you use to throw up, it's not nearly as bad as there are no acids and stuff in there.

I did within a month and went 4 wheeler riding for 5 hours on day 10. Just take it easy and enjoy yourself. Have fun, there's nothing anymore fun than fiding a harley, you go!!

I went to Monterrey with a girl who went by herself and had no problems whatsoever. I've also referred 7 people of which 4 of them went by themselves so if you have to go by yourself you will do great.

I guess even though I still have about 50 more pounds to loose the best thing for me has been to finally be able to go into Walmart, the mall, Sears, Penney's or anywhere and be able to buy clothes from the Regular department and not those Dang Ugly Plus sizes that I've had to wear for so long. I can't remember if I told you all of not since I've been staying off of here the last 2 weeks but as you know I have the one little granddaughter Briana and my daughter just found out she's pregnant again. We went to to doc today and she's between 12 and 13 weeks and due Sept. 24th. I'm soooo excited. I've got the baby today and she just makes my days so much better. Well, I'll try to post more, I didn't want them to find me here and start treating me the way they were. I at first swore I wouldn't come back on here at all but I do want to keep up with my July sisters and brother, heck we're family and I love all you guys. Me too nothing. Got to Santa Agracis in Monterrey Mexico at 11:00 had preop testing which consisted of bloodwork, gave my happy shot in my iv they started and within 30 min. was in surgery. Took 45 min. then off to recovery then to room and walking in 10 min. Needed absolutely nothing. They give you strong pain meds every 4 hours for the 12 hours you'll there without you even asking because I didn't even need. Then they give you strong pain meds to bring home with you but I gave mine to one of the girls that was staying with us at the guest house and had surgery 30 min. before me as she couldn't handle pain well. Here's a pic. 10 min. after getting to my room after surgery.

Here it is in laymens terms. After you get the one you want on that last page to to the first one to copy, I think there's about 4 of so. Only copy from the letters img to img. Then go to the user cp and go to edit signature and paste it there and then save. That should get it to working for you.

I would give it a little time. I went for a unfill and fills are costly to begin with and then had to go right back and get my fill plus some. Sometimes are bodies swell, like how your wedding rings get tight so does your stomcah and stoma. If it's that time of month you'll be tighter and if you have bad sinus that will too. I would just give it a little while and try to drink something very hot first thing in the moring helps me soooo much. If I drink hot cocoa or something I have no problems but without it I too can't eat until lunch or so. Good luck.

Also, If you do oranges or especialy grapefruit make sure you peel off that white membrane stuff. My surgeon said that would be really hard of you. Just thought you ought to know. Good luck.

I agree with Jack. That was absolutely the most thoughtless thing she could have said. Just a little word of kindness can go a long way and there are so many people that just open mouth and speak before they think. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope this straightens out for you on it's own. Just keep your chin up.

Hi everyone, Most people on here know me. I've been banded since July 06 and lost 60 pounds in the first 6 months and the last two months I haven't lost anything. I had a slight unfill 2 months ago and then a fill one month ago. Here's the problem I am having and I remember reading on here right before I had surgery that others have had this same thing but I don't remember what to do about it. I lost sooo well with no problems whatsoever. Now, I am hungry all the time and can eat chips, sweets, no problem but when I go to eat meat, or Proteins, I get stuck with the first bite. If I can wait it out and let it go down without vomiting then I can resume eating with no problem. I'm noticing that I get stuck with first bite everytime I eat so I'm getting into a bad habit of if I get stuck I just will eat something bad for me because it won't get stuck. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. My surgeon really feels I need a fill because I stay hungry, I'm not losing and I can eat anything and lots of it but I'm having that first bite problem. I have 1.9cc's in my 4cc's band.

Laura, Who yanked your chain. I'm so lucky to have my band. Get off it. I paid cash, had to take it out of savings and that's lucky. You sound like you are the one upset because you don't have a band and really, that's not my problem. You need to deal with you own issues. Charlene I got 27 pm's and I'm not the only one that thinks your arogant and very noisy. I have posted about two different issues in one year on here on the rants page and both times you've been a royal witch to me. LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE. PLEASE. Yes, I have a band, yes, I've lost 70 pounds but have 30 more to go, yes I have my Masters in Business and yes I'm very happy so LEAVE ME ALONE.
