Admitting you need a slight unfill
beachgirl replied to beachgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank each of you for your thoughts, ideas, and help. Jack I could probably use another 10, I always LOVE reading your posts. I got the .3 and its a good thing I did. I can eat now and still getting stuck some so I probably needed a little more out but can't imagine if I hadn't of got that out. I am taking it easy, eating right, trying to exercise and following the bandstger rules. Started losing again but very slow. Breaking this 200 mark into the 100's feels almost like a curse to me. It seems almost impossible but I know in time I'll get there. Again, Thank you all. -
My son has been engaged for 2 years and they are too be married on 07/07/07 of this year. They've dated for 5 years and found out she was pregnant 2 weeks ago. We spent Wed, Thurs, and Fri at the hospital where she miscarried on Thursday. We are devasted and so are they. Keep them in your prayers.

That wouldn't work for me because I can swallow fine at the office and then my fills dont kick in fully for up to 5 weeks so I would be in a mess and getting a slight unfill. If it works for you then go for it.

Congrats, I know you are so proud. I have one granddaughter who is 2 and the light of our life then my daugher found out she is 5 months pregnant again and had no clue. No period because she was told she couldn't have any more and no need for bc pills. Anyway, it is due first of October and then my son found out they were pregnant 2 weeks ago and I went and bought boy and girl come home from the hospital outfits because it's due Christmas week. I thought 2 newborns at Christmas and my 2yr.old where will I put 3 carseats in the back of my grand prix and then my daugher inlaw starting bleeding wednesday and they admitted her and my son and I never left the hospital until yesterday when they told us she lost it. We've been devastated. Cheerish your little one. I know they'll probably have more but it sure it heartbreaking.

Going to a restaurant and your by yourself clearly, as a woman, no one in front of you and no one behind you. They say how many, you say one and they say, just one? Duhhh no, 400. Then, the only place I usually go out and eat by myself is outback for they're salad. Okay, I order water first, then when I order just they're small salad they're like okay, what else, just a salad, you don't want anything else? Hell no, nothing else. Is it illegal to just order that. I leave a 5.00 tip when I eat by myself so what's the problem. I mean I can't drink with my meal so I take a drink first while waiting for my salad. It's like they're afraid they won't get they're tip. It really pisses me off.

Thanks Steph, He's doing better but he constantly talks about why did they take our baby and I try to explain things to him. He's not quite yet 21 so a little on the immature side but he sure was looking forward to that little baby. Time will heal things up. I'll be praying for you with your knees, I think about you daily. Thinks will be so good for you after your healed. Thanks again for your thoughts, Sherri Jo

I guess I can join now, yipeeee. My son bought him an 07 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100 and I've been riding it by myself and loving it. So today my husband bought for our 25th wedding anniversary on May 31, a Honda Goldwing Aspendcande 1100. Oh I just love it. It's fully dressed with the radio, cb, gps, heat and air ducts, intercomm system, and it has a custom paint job and comes with one of those trailers that match it you pull behind you with your stuff. So, were leaving on the 30 th with it and are going on a 2 week road trip down to Florida then across to Texas, Louisiana and then where ever it leads us. I hope my band behaves while we're gone. Just wanted to introduce myself as a biker bander.

Just make sure your doctor has done several, not just 100 or so and make sure it is in a full scale hospital with a trauma unit and not a clinic. It will make all of the difference in the world should a problem arrise. I had mine done in Mexico only because the hospitals there were more upscale than here, the surgeon had done over 7000 now and lost no one and the care was fabulous and I could afford it at 8500.00 cash and free fills for life and then they sent me a 1000.00 refund. Good luck and just really do your research.

I was on 400 calories a day for 14 days and didn't loose an ounce. Up it to 1000 calories and lost 3 pounds the first 3 days. I guess it is just different for everyone.

Hi everyone, sorry I've not posted to much this week. Its been a hard week. My daugher is 5 months pregnant and my son has been engaged for 2 years and is to be married 07-07-07, anyway she found out she was pregnant too 2 months ago and we've kept it quite since they're not married but still tickled pink. It was going to be due Christmas week. So I already have one 2 yr. old granddaughter that is our life right now and my daughter is pregnant this time with a boy and then the third one due so it was going to be 2 newborns due 3 months apart. I've been at the hosptial since WEdnesday witht them as my son is only 20 and a huge mama's boy and she is closer to me than her mom but they lost the baby yesterday. I tried so hard to be supportive, they were soooo upset. My son punched a hole in a wall with his fist and cried like a baby and mind you he is 6'8" tall. I finally hugged and kissed her and told her how sorry I was and then I started crying. I know she wasn't very far along but she's already had one miscarriage at 15 when her boyfriend kicked her in the stomach so they're really afraid she's going to have a hard time. She just weighs 96 pounds and that doesn't help things. Just pray for us all. I had already bought they're coming home outfit for a boy and girl and me a third carseat. Weight is finally slowlllllyyyyyyyyy coming off. I went 3 full months with not one pound but since my unfill I've lost a couple and uped my walking and exercise so maybe just maybe I'll brake than damn wonderland by my bandiversary. It's only 2 1/2 months away so I doubt that I'll loose 18 pounds but I'll sure try. Hope everyone is happy and whether your losing or not I'll bet your all losing inches. I measured again and I knew I'd went from 24's to 16's but only 60 pounds lost but I've lost now over 75 inches so maybe that's where some of it is going but I would sure like to weigh even 199. My son had bought them a new 07 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100 streetbike so we went today and bought a Honda Goldwing Aspendcade 1100 and I mean it is dressed up to the kilts. It has stereo, heat and air vents, intercom system, cb radio, king and queen seats with back rests, head rests, and arm rests, and all of those saddle bags and gps systems and one of those trailers that matches the paintjob you pull behind you for your luggage and stuff it sooo cute. We leave for our 25th wedding anniversary on May 31, and we were going on a cruise but now we're postponing cruise and leaving on this and just go on a road trip. Go down to the coast and stay at hotels and take a tent along and if we want to camp we can. Sounds like so much fun. Be gone about 2 weeks. Wish me luck. I hope I don't gain weight during that time. Love you all, Have a great week,

Okay, first of all you two need your butts spanked. Of course we want to read your posts and we DO care. If you can't come here and vent where can you go. It doesn't matter to me if you don't come on here often although we would love to see you often. I don't think any of us are doing great right now. If it makes you feel any better I haven't lost one pound in 3 months. Not one pound. I was too tight so I got a slight unfill and I do think things will get better so it's not just you and you guys are not failures. This is a lifelong thing and it may take 2 years and it may take 3 so don't give up. I know I for one really miss you both. Try to log on more often and maybe something someone says or does can help. It sounds like you need a fill more than anything. Just mho though. Don't ever think you can't come on here even if it's only to vent. We listen very well. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Ticker did great. You'll do great. My doctor is a nurse and she's told me horror stories about the bypass. Mind you there are some days I'd wished I had it done when I'm no impatient. I've been banded 9 months and had lost the first 60 pounds in 5 months and now it is soooo slow going but I know in my heart it is the safest, just takes longer. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers and if you ever need a buddy to talk to pm me, I'd be glad to answer any questions you might have.

Had mine done in Mexico and they are much more into what the patient needs compared to the us. Stayed overnight in the hospital, which was 22 hours and then went to the Surgeons house and stayed the second night and then flew and had to change planes in Houston, Texas and then flew on to Nashville and then long 2 1/2 hour drive home. I think you'll do great.

help me, guys - should I go in for an unfill ?
beachgirl replied to fitzgerald's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine too. He's been doing them in other countries since 1985 and has done over 7000 and said his wife has been banded since 1995 and drinks one a day and no problem. He said there is no way that carbonation is going to stretch your stoma. Your band in on the outside of it. He says drink on if you like them. -
Almost 10 months here and I agree, complications free just get use to the fills and eating again. I would be second in line behind you Tanya.
-
I'm so proud for you Alex, I am also proud your getting the band. I think it will be much better and I like how it goes completely around and there is no gap around the locking mechanism. Keep us informed and I'm so proud for you.

Were you drug tested before surgery?
beachgirl replied to Candle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasn't either. Good luck. -
Yes, I want to know who she is too. She's beautiful that's for sure.

Going through the same crap. I've been banded for 9 months and the last 2 nothing. I was too tight and eating too few calories so we'll see. It's enough to make you want to give up but that is the great thing about the band, it won't let you. Good luck and I hope things get to moving for you soon.

Subject: I miss Bill SORRY, I couldn't resist!!!!. LOL I Miss Bill Clinton It doesn't matter what party you belong to - this is hilarious. From a show on Canadian TV, there was a black comedian who said he misses Bill Clinton. "Yep, that's right - I miss Bill Clinton! He was the closest thing we ever got to having a black man as President. Number 1 - He played the sax. Number 2 - He smoked weed. Number 3 - He had his way with ugly white women. Even now? Look at him... his wife works, and he doesn't! And, he gets a check from the government every month. Manufacturers announced today that they will be stocking America's shelves this week with " Clinton Soup," in honor of one of the nations' distinguished men. It consists primarily of a weenie in hot Water. Chrysler Corporation is adding a new car to its line to honor Bill Clinton. The Dodge Drafter will be built in Canada. When asked what he thought about foreign affairs, Clinton replied, "I don't know, I never had one." The Clinton revised judicial oath: "I solemnly swear to tell the truth as I know it, the whole truth as I believe it to be, and nothing but what I think you need to know." Clinton will be recorded in history as the only President to do Hanky Panky between the Bushes." ... ya gotta love it!

Hope you get your fill worked out Mary, I feel you there girl. Yes, the soreness is so much better. Still black and blue and man, I've had 6 fills and 2 unfills and I am so gunshy now that I will be really ready for a fill before I get another. I think when you have something to go so bad like that it really scares you. Don't stay too tight like me. I wasted 2 solid months now losing a pound. I should have known better but when your fill doctor is so far away and you have almost 20 grand in it I think your constantly second guessing yourself. Good luck and keep us informed and hope your loosening up a little. Hope everyone is having a great week.

Hi and welcome, Congratulations on your bundle of joy and your upcoming marriage, both great ideas for getting healthy and losing weight. I hear about lots of insurance companies now covering the band. I had Anthem bc/bs ppo last year when I started looking into the band and I think they cover now with no problems. I didn't even bother because I wanted my surgery like yesterday and didn't want to go through all of that and was self pay in Mexico so I'm not positive about the insurance thing, but I'm sure some others will chime in and help you. You might want to go to the insurance forum part and check there. I'm sure you find many that do cover. Good luck and you've came to the right place for excellent information and friends and support.

I love vegall casserole although I'm not about how bandster friendly. I bet if you use the lowfat cheezewhiz stuff it would help and butter instead of margarine. I don't even use margarine now that I'm banded. Here it is it is fabulous tasting and soooo easy. 3 cans vegall, drained 1 can lowfat cream of mushroom or chicken Soup 1/2 stick of butter, melted 1 small jar of lowfat cheezewhiz, microwaved about 30 seconds Stir up together and put in over until bubbly about 30 min. on 350 degrees Then crush up lowfat ritz crackers and pour on top and melt the other half of stick of butter and pour on top of that and cook for another 10 min. or so. It sounds fattening but I use the fatfree and lowfat stuff and I can't eat much. It is delicious.
