Hi all! Just thought I'd give my wonderful supporters an update. It's day 3 post-op and all can really complain about is some gas. I am using Gas X and a hot h2o botlle which seem to help. I am not letargic or nauseated which is great. I on liquids and I had some fat free yogurt (4tablespoons) which went down ok. When should I expect the scales to start moving?

Don't you dare even consider cancelling this surgery! You owe yourself a healthy life free of weight issues and low self-esteem. I am 5 days post op and I feel terrific and I know that I made the best possible decision of my life. I have no pain and I have lost 26 lbs since I started my liquid diet 2 weeks ago. We are here to support you and I will be rooting for you. Do it, you'll be so glad you did!

Hi all! Today, I became an official memeber of bandland and I feel great! I have drank a 500 ml bottle of H20, half a bottle of green te ice tea and one sugarless popsicle. I have had no gas or shoulder pain but of course my tummy feels a little tender. I thank God for this miraculous post-op status and you for your encouragement and support. During the 2 week pre-op phase I lost 16 lbs. Not too shabby eh'?

Telly, you ROCK! So what if those RNY patients loose quicker than the bandsters. At least we don't look like death warmed over like most of them do. I'm a nurse and I see a lot of RNY patients come in with major infections, malnutrition, dehydration and on occassion I have seen them die. Who made the wisest choice now? Keep up the good fight girl. Your picture clearly shows you have an absolutely beautiful face and now you have a body to match. Look out Beyonce, here comes Telly!

Hi all! My surgery is on June 9 and I am on an emotional roller coaster! I am praying for a successful procedure, speedy recovery with no complications and oh course, a new body! Good luck to all the Junebies and I will be praying for all of us!

I'm getting my band this Friday, June 9, and I think it is the best decision I've ever made. My decision to have the band is costing ME, not my insurance $15,000.00. If I didn't care about my health and being around to watch my children grow up that money could be very easily used elsewhere. If you are already doubting whether this is for you or not then maybe you should put it off a while longer and give it another good hard think. Remember, the band is not magic, you have to work and be committed to eating right and following the rules. If you are not prepared to do that then don't bother. Getting the band put in is the easy part, you have to make the rest of it happen. Go back and read all the threads on this board. These people will be your greatest source of information and encouragement. Good luck with your decision and God bless.

Great! Sounds like you're ready to start exercising. I hope that happens to me. Way to go!

I would call and tell them. You never know what they could say it is. This is a major thing and it is obviously concerning you so you should call. Good luck and let us know.

I totally agee with you ladies. In my mind, I'm 130 lbs. I don't like having my picture taken and I actually don't like seeing pictures of myself before I gained all this weight because it really depresses me. I can't to be a normal size and have curves in place of buldges.

Hi all, Thanks for all your comments and encouragement. I really appreciate it. You were all right, I called my dr and his nurse said not to eat anything except green veggies and optifast and lots of water. Today is a lot better for me, I'm not as hungry and I have no headaches but day 2 and 3 were killer! I'm keeping my eye on the prize and aiming to be a successful "looser" like you guys! Thanks again and I will continue to drink strong!

Hi guys, it's me again. I read all your posts to my thread from earlier today and I want to thank all of you. I tried my hardest today but I had a grilled chicken breast, 3oz with nothing on it because I was starving to death. Do you think it's going to make a huge difference in my pre-op weight loss if I do this daily? There is no fat so it shouldn't affect my liver, right?

Hi all, This is my 3rd day on Optifast and I am getting hungry! I've read the past threads and couldn't find much about the optifast. Can someone please help me with a suggestion or something? I'd really appreciate it, thanks!

Oh Woodys! I just noticed that your surgery is the day before mine! I'll be praying for you Honey and sending the angels your way!

Thanks guys! I will call my Dr. again tomorrow and ask about lean meats but his nurse said Optifast and green veggies ONLY. I would kill for a piece of grilled chicken right about now! Oh well, I stained the deck and did the gardening, I guess I'll look for something else to do. 11 days and counting to a new body and a new life!

Hi, I'm new to the site and will be banded on June 9, 2006 in Mississauga by Dr. Cobourn. I started on Optifast on the 26th and find it actually tastes good. Any tips anyone can offer me to get through the next 2 weeks? Thanks!
