I'm so sorry it took so long to answer! I've been so busy with school and everything that I haven't been able to keep up with this site. I'm back on track now and I will not neglect this site because I don't feel like I'm in control right now, but I think that if I keep reading these message boards, I'll be ok. Thank you for thinking of me!!

hello lady i was just checking in to see how things were going with you ? ttyl

I have to agree with you on that one! This time last year, I was going to walmart to buy the little pints of ice cream because my latest diet hadn't worked, and I knew that I was going into the school year as a fat person again. I'm so glad I made this change, and I'm glad that I'm sticking with it!

yes i agree with you, with out this mid section i would feel alot better. trying to rush the process and keep in mind that's it's only been 8mos. for me. So i've started lookin into some spanxs/ tummy control garments until then. oh and i also was told to get one of those belts for your stomach and wear during your work outs.. so. and YES if you eat protein 1st you'll stay full much longer, even if you would of ate just the middle or meat out of the burger and then the rest. but hey who am i to talk...lol i find myself still eating everything together ! uggghhh hang in there we will get there , and you are still looking fabulous ! i'd rather be where i am going in the direction i am than where i was this time last year !

Ugh, I think I would be a lot happier without my midsection lol! Thank you! I think I've finally got restriction now because before, I could eat as much as I wanted, and I wasn't full at all..EVER. But now, for example today: I went to the mall and got a burger and small tater tots from Sonic, and I finished the small tater tots, and I was so full that I couldn't eat anymore! I was so happy! I got hungry about 2 hours after that, but I think that if I change my eating habits/the things I eat, and eat more substantial foods with nutrients, I could get full on the amount we're SUPPOSED to be eating and stay full for mabye 4 hours! Before now, I couldn't imagine eating on 4 ounces of food, but now, I think it's a really good amount to eat at a meal. I think I'll do the 4-5 smalls meals a day thing. What about you? How are you doing?

hello Keepingfaith, i think we hold the same problem and that's the mid section! uggghhhh like you i've bought new clothes, bras and all that and it does help but i share your frustrations. the weight lost is slow or inches and the mid section is just hanging on for dear life ! but like your name that's all we can do is keep the faith. keep me posted on how your doing

I think that the only reason I was able to do the liquid diet was because I was afraid of complications with the surgery, so that kept me in check. After the surgery, I went back to classes the next day, I was sore, but it wasn't too bad at all. The first 2 weeks after surgery, I didn't feel hungry at all, so it wasn't hard to not eat solids at all. I barely ate anything at all because I felt really full and uncomfortable even after a couple of spoonfuls of soup.
Was that helpful? I can answer any other questions you have as well.

My doctor actually just sprung this whole thing on me. I wasn't even thinking about it, but he said that I was gaining weight steadily, and that it was alarming that it wasn't stopping. Also, none of the diets he'd put me on in the past worked after about 3 weeks or so, I'd gain it all back, even though I was following everything correctly. So, to answer the first question, my doctor set me up with a consultation that very next week. The whole process took about 3 weeks from consultation to surgery because I'm on my mom's insurance, and she's a federal employee, and I didn't have to do the 6 month diet/psych eval/etc. But I'm sure that other insurances do the same thing, and probably won't make you wait that long.

Hi Keping the Faith.....I am new here. I have my consultation on Monday but I had 2 questions for you if you don't mind. How long did you have to wait before your initial consultation and your actual surgery? Also, How hard was it going from solid food to just liquids?
