a gap in my thighs?????!!!!!!!!!! lol

How awesome! I can't remember the last time my thighs didn't rub together and I'm looking forward to the day that they no longer do. You look so awesome. Isn't it amazing? Do you even recognize yourself in the mirror?
  2. I would definitely look into switching doctors. If your doctor can't take the time to stop and listen to you then he's not worth keeping. You have to put you first.
  3. Lapband was my 1st major surgery since I had my tonsils removed when I was 4. I was uncomfortable for about 3 days and I finally started to feel better after about 5 days. I had surgery on Wednesday by Monday I was back to work and by Monday night I was driving again. It's just those 1st initial days that you feel uncomfortable.

    One word-TRAUMATIC! First fill-10 1/2 wks out

Lol. Being a needle phobe myself I would've freaked out too if the need snapped off like that. But that was something I had to suck up and put up with in exchange for the new me. lol. Hopefully your next fill will go much smoother for you. Sorry about your experience!
  5. Congrats to you! That is so awesome. I know being a part of this website has helped me to keep on track. It's inspiring to hear how everybody's doing and it helps you to stay on track.

i miss my food so much

It seems like you may be too tight if you are pbing alot. I have 6cc's in my 14cc band and while I have some restriction (I certainly have cut back on my portions) I have not gotten stuck nor have I pb'd. Although everybody is different.

    Well hello restriction!

Wow that's awesome that you found your sweet spot so fast! I'm 4 months post op and I'm almost there. I figure 2 fills from now i'll be there. Although I am steadily losing. I lose about 2 lbs a week.

    Hi...new around here...

Congrats on your surgery date! The surgery for me was a breeze. I was in at 6 a.m. and home by 2 p.m. the same day. You are very uncomfortable for the first few days, after that it gets better. Don't let your parents discourage you. You gotta do what you gotta do to get yourself healthy and with lapband it's a good choice.

    New from upstate NY

Welcome Deb! It's amazing how much money it costs us to "diet". Lap band is a wonderful tool that helps you lose weigt and so far i've lost 45 lbs since my surgery. i feel great and have never been more active in my life. Hope everything works out for you! Whether you get the lap band or not.
  11. I'd be switching doctors if i were you! that's bs! you are his patient and you have concerns it's his job to address those concerns.

    no drinking after meals

Sun tea is really good. I go through a picture of that every other day.
  13. I had an upper GI and I was out for it. I just remember laying there on the table and they put some stuff in my iv and then I was out. Don't be terrified. Don't let this procedure prevent you from getting your band.
  14. That's not bad. Mine was protein shakes and I could have 1 lean cuisine per day. whew hew. The last week of it wasn't bad at all I got used to it ad I liked the weight dropping off.

I will be thinking of you on your big day. I wasn't nervous until I got to the hospital and they were prepping me but then after my iv was hooked up the wonderful doctor gave me valum which stones me. I felt great after that! lol.

    does age play a factor

I don't really think age really plays a factor in how much you lose. You are young so you will probably have more energy to exercise and also your skin will probably have more elasticity in it so you may not need to have plastic surgery. Good luck with your journey it's well worth it!

    Need Sports Bra

OMG! lol. That's funny. I know I'm always telling my sister in law she can have some of mine. I'm a 40 D. She's like an A cup maybe a B but I think that's pushing it.

Does the band get tighter a few days after fill

I now have 6 cc's in and I feel more restricted than ever. I get full pretty fast and I really had to learn to slow down otherwise if I eat too fast then bam it will hit me and I feel very uncomfortable for a few minutes before it starts to go down more. It's nice to finally get some restriction. Thankfully I haven't had any PB incidents.

    Surgery and Aunt Flow

That's up to you. My sister had wrist surgery when she was on hers and believe me they will work around it.
  20. You know I changed the way I eat too. I no longer eat fast food and I'm quite certain at this point it would make me sick. I do have the occasional goody. Don't get me wrong I love my Cookies and cake. I don't buy any of it but if I'm at my brother's and he makes fresh chocolate chip cookies I'm gonna have 1 or 2 but that's it. If I have cake it's a small piece. Last week I kinda fell off the dieting band wagon (making a couple unhealthy choices and not exercising as diligently as I have been) and i'm paying the piper this week. I feel like crap. I'm exhausted and yesterday felt crappy all day long but I'm back on track this week and today I finally feel a bit better. I didn't come all this way to go through what I am going through not to make a change in my lifestyle. Obviously it wasn't working before why would it work now? Your friend is making the wrong choices and unfortunately it's going to come back and bite her.
  21. Hey! No it wasn't. I got all excited because I lost 3 lbs in a week and then 2 lbs the next week but I only gained 1 lb and I'm back on track this week looking to lose that lb plus the next 2. So I'm down 4 lbs from my last fill on the 25th of April so I'm on track. My average is 2 lbs a week. How's the liquid diet coming along? Just think 1 more week! What hospital is your surgeon doing it in? I had to go down to Harper University Hospital (part of the DMC complex) in Detroit.

Does the band get tighter a few days after fill
