  1. I was banded in February 2009 and now I am 23 weeks pregnent with identical twins girls. My hubby and I couldn't be more thrilled about the girls, but I am not so thrilled about my expanding tummy again. Prior to getting pregnant I had lost about 60 lbs. Now, 23 weeks into prengnancy I have gained about 22 lbs. I now this is mostly baby weight, but I am beginning to think that I need to really start looking at my food choices and quanitites that I am eating. My surgeon doesn't remove any saline unless I feel that I need it so I am still at the same fill level as pre-pregnancy. Any one out there have any advise on the amount of calories they did or are eating while being pregnant with twins. Any advise GREATLY appreciated!:smile2:
  2. I was banded back in february and have a total of 4 ccs now. have not been having very much trouble at all until tonight. I ate ribs for the first time and they stuck. I have been trying to get them up for several hours now, but the last bit won't come up. I am very uncomfortable and can't even drink anything....any suggstions on how to get this last bit up and out of me.......help:arf:
  3. Hey everyone. I was banded on 2/19 and for the longest was doing great. Even six or seven weeks after suregery I wasn't really all that hungry and was able to stick to the recommended diet. Had my first fill of 1.5 cc's on 3/24/09 and was still doing great. However, within the last few weeks I have been getting really hungry and eating far more than I need to. :tt2: I have not really gained any weight, but am afraid I will if I don't watch out. I am scheduled for another fill next Tuesday, but am concerned because even after my first fill I couldn't really tell any difference in what or how I was eating. Has any one else experienced this?
  4. I was banded 2/19/09 and as of today I have lost 20 lbs since the surgery and 40 since I started this whole process. Had my first fill on 3/24/09. I guess I am one of the lucky ones because I hear others talk about being hungry and eating more than they should. Since I had my surgeryit takes very little to fill me up. My biggest problem has been that my immune system went down after surgery and I have had a stomach virus, sinus infection, ear infection and one of my incisions got infected all within the last 2 1/2 weeks.
  5. Had lapband on 2/19 and have been feeling great. Went in on last Friday for two week followup and doctor said everything looked great and to come back in a few weeks for first fill....yippee:thumbup:. THEN, two days later I came down with the worst stomach virus known to man. I dry heaved off and on for over 15 hours:drool:. After I recovered I thought I was ok and didn't think anymore about it. However, last night after eating dinner I got this extremely full feeling (just thinking maybe I ate too much), but when I woke up this morning I still had it. I am not in any pain just some discomfort. I am not sure if I am just sore from the extensive session of hurling or if I have done something to mess up the band. I am having no problem eating or holding any thing down so I am just not sure if I need to call the doctor. I just don't want to come across as the type of person that calls the doc everytime I sneeze wondering if I damaged my band or it slipped. Any advise would be great or knowledge that this has happened to someone else.

Did I mess my band up?

Called the doc's office this morning and was told pretty much that as long as I was not having any trouble keeping food down now that there really wasn't anything to worry about. Thanks for the replies and suggestions. I am feeling much better now and the uncomfortable feeling that was in my tummy is gone :w00t:

    Frustration

I was also banded on the 19th of February. The first week I lost 10 lbs and was so so very excited. Unfortunately, this last week I have only lost 1 lb. I am also discouraged that the weight is not coming off faster while only eating 600-800 calories a day. I was on the smaller end of weight going into surgery so I know the weight won't fall off as fast, but come on...1 lb a week!

    1 week post op..and i am confused

I also was banded on 2.19.09. I am back to work today for the first time and a bit tired. My port site is also still a bit sore at times, but managable. This surgery has got to be the best decision I ever made!!!
