Why did you get denied? I think a lot of people have done it on their own...check different states b/c the price varies a lot.

Saw my PSY. Dr. It went well I guess. Took a MONSTER test, I hope I don't come across as a lunatic! He said he would have his report done with in a week since I needed it so quickly. I hope he does not drop the ball as he is the last thing I needed to submit to BCN. I find it VERY hard to wait and am preparing myself for a denial, not because I don't need the surgery, but because I doubt they want to pay the whole thing since I have almost met my Max out of pocket.

So how will I know if this is the case with my husbands insurance? I called Blue Care Network and they told me what I had to do in order to be approved. Would they have told me if the employer excluded WLS during that call? Good GOD, a whole new rejection reason to worry about...I am going to give myself a stroke! UGH!

Sounds like a jerk but here is my take. My husband met me when I was skinny/er. I have gained a crap loaed of weight 90 lbs. He still loves me, bummed but still loves me, I want this surgery for my health and to be a better more active Mom. Hey, if he walks it is HIS LOSS! He will lose you the time with the kids, If he is so selfish he needs to wake up! After all is not some of the attraction because of who a person is on the inside. Do this for you and your children....

Linda, I think you would be fine. My Friend although she had a higher BMI, was approved, Medicare was a breeze she said.

All these heart test make me nervous....ok I know I sound neurotic....really I am not. I did have to do a EKG but that is it (well, the Psy test and 6 mo diet) have you guys heard that this surgery is hard on the heart?

Well, it sounds like we are all in the same boat! Lets post our insurance results with the time from submit to approval...I am sure there are other that will like to see the aprox time frame.....

Hi, I am new too. I have gone through all but the Psy. exam which will be the 30th of this month. I am 5'9 and 265 with a bmi of 39. I am afraid I won't get approved but I do have sleep apnea and high Cholesterol so I hope that goes in my favor. People have also told me I carry my weight well which is nice I guess but I don't feel that way. I look like Buddha and my knees and Hips kill me. I have NO energy at all and I can't keep up with my kids. It has taken me a long time to get to the point where I have given up on my own ability to lose the fat on my own. I now feel there is a light at the end of this very long, self hating tunnel and I can barely wait. I won't deny I am TERRIFIED that I will be the one who dies on the table leaving my kids and giving my husband the final "I told you so". I just want my life back and be a better Mom and wife with more energy and confidence and looking cute in jeans can't hurt either...

Give them a few days and then CALL them. Sometimes you have to be proactive when the time line is ticking away. Let them know your date and see if they can expedite the decision makers. Good luck!

Staycation is enough I think. When people start to ask about your weight loss you can tell the truth just not the WHOLE truth, and say you are on low calorie low carb diet which is true. Your life your business!

Ya think my hubby will believe 12 months?? I hope MY sex drive comes back after losing weight...sick of feeling like a UMPA LUMPA, it has a tendency to make me want NOTHING. Poor Hubby.

Wow, so glad I am NOT alone! I am still a bit panic about getting approved. My BMI is 39-40 with sleep apnea and high cholesterol. I am hoping that is enough. Ins. can be such jerks and since I started this process I am so excited about the NEW me to come and I have yet to get my approval. If I do not get approved I will be devastated to say the LEAST! I know...bla bla bla. Just have to vent since I am now obsessed with getting this approved..total geek that I am.

Being a contortionist to keep myself "clean" (sorry, but true and we all know it! LOL) Disappointment in my husbands eyes. Being to tired to keep up with my children Not having my picture taken The list goes on and on!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the approval is good for a while b/c some people can't get in to surgery that quick. But you could call the INS and ask. I got my 6 mo consultation and am seeing the PSY on the 30th. I was thinking yesterday about having the surgery yesterday and it dawned on me.......my battle of almost 20 yrs will finally be over.....and I will no longer be depressed over how I look. That is going to be HUGE! I am afraid to get excited b/c I am not approved yet. But won't it be wonderful to throw all those clothes in the Good Will pile?!!!

Hi Guys! I fear denial because I want it so bad lol. Also I have met my out of pocket for this year and if I have to wait til after Jan 1st I will have to pay 1/2 and that is not a option.

Good GOD!!!! I am reading, looking at photo's I will be so upset if I don't get approved from my Insurance...HATE being out of control of something that will be so important to my health and life. UGH...lol, back to forum obsession surfing!
