Hello everyone, I'm 3 months post-op, (no fills yet) and all of a sudden, I got this pain in the upper left side of my chest and shoulder. It started after having a hard time trying to eat a buffalo wind last monday, I did not eat it. The next day I could not eat at all, so I went on liquids for 2 days. I can swallow easer now, but the pain is still there. I know is gas, because it is exactly like after the surgery, I can fell the gas moving. I try to eat some solid food last night and the pain increase, it fells all the way to my throat. I have had 2 o 3 PB's, but nothing that serious. Did I hurt my band? I have to go on a trip today, so I hate not felling well. I tried, milanta, maalox, pepcid complete, tums, hot pads, ice, but nothing seen to help so far, any suggestions? Any thing is appreciate. Thank you my angels. :help:

Thank you Banded, I did all of that and more, I walked on my hands and knees too, plus the push ups, and something must to help, because I'm a lot better now. Right now, the thing is that I'm very swollen, so I'm in liquids, and I plan to stay like that a little longer, at least until tomorrow. That was provably the problem last week, that I went back to 'normal' food to soon after a PB. I hope this can help some others. This is my NO NO list so far. Foods Buffalo winds refried black Beans (pinto beans are ok, don't ask why) tamales. hard sugar candy. And no drinking any kind of liquids right after I eat any solid foods. This are things, that I was told before not to do, but did not listen. I'll now of course. Blessings to all.

Wheleer thanks for your advice, It was well appreciated. I'll keep that in mind, because I tried it yesterday, I don't want to became a hobbit, but somehow it did help a little. Hello everyone. I'm back!! Still in pain though. It has ben a week of hell. I went to visit some friends in Dallas for the weekend, and I was so miserable with the pain, reflux, gas, swollen, not able to eat at all, that I have end it up explaining my surgery to everyone. I swallowing fine last friday, but after the flight, all I could take was warm liquids, milk and tea. Aparantly I had a "real" PB last Monday on those stupid buffalo wings, so that was the cause of the pain. I was able to have some lunch today, and the pain was minimum, but I just get home, have a sip of aloe vera juice and PB on it. It was so bad, that I had to vomit (this the second time in three months) Was is wrong? I'm gona send a email to my Dr, see what He said, because this is freaking me out. Terez and Scribby. Sorry to hear that you are in the same situation as me, I can't give much help, but I'm sure somebody else will. Hope we all can fell better soon

My Mane is Letty, 36 years old, single, no children, well I have a Tibetan terrier whom acts like a kid! I was banded a month a go in Monterey Mexico by Dr. Arturo Rodriguez, (i love this man) and I'm in the process of learning how to live with this strange object in my body. So far no mayor problems, just the usual healing factors. There are sometimes when I get really mad at my self for not being able to loose the weight on my own, but soon after I try not too. So now all of us are like a big family right? When can we get together for dinner? Perhaps we can all share a single meal!:hungry:

Hello everyone I was just wondering, has any body had a bad experience with kiwis? my Dr, said pineapple and, oranges and limes were not recommended but did not mention anything about kiwis. At 3 1/2 weeks post- op, I had some two days ago, (they were kind of sour) and I have this feeling in my chest of swollen, like irritation. I was able to eat all this time, but only things that are cold, milk feels really good or very cold Water, well I'm afraid to eat something else, even though I hade some chicken (cold) and fresh mozzarella for lunch, but it is dinner time, and only want milk. Is there any thing you can do to get rid of this? Thanks
-
Thanks Wheet! I forgot to mention, that I was doing that cabbage Soup diet for a week. It was my second day this Tuesday (I was on vegetables and soup only. I don't know if that had any thing to do with it? Obviously I quit! I had to have milk yesterday and I was not suppose too. I rather feel good then loosing some extra pounds. Blessings

I put salt and lemon juice (not too much) on my very cold cubes of watermelon! mmmmmm
-
Thank you Morsa, I though it was the kiwis because, did not feel right after I ate them, but it could had been anything. I also went to a patty on Tuesday night, and there was nothing for me to eat, so that was like 6 hours, after I got home I had some grill vegetables and that was it, then the pain came along. Since I'm new to this, everything scares me, but I feel better this morning, I went to get some Maalox, perhaps that will help with the gas too. I email my Dr, and he said it could been some Vitamins, pills can cause irritation and even ulcers in your stoma sometimes, so I also get some chewable ones. Blessings Letty

Hi Jim welcome to bandland! I was also banded by the great Dr Rodriguez on may 12. I'ts good to be back at home it is not? About your incisions I can tell you, that mime, look just the same, so many colors, I was so scared, but as days go by, they will get better, just put all the ice that you can on it, and give it some time to heal, it will happen. I even have some little bumps underneath the skin on one or two of the incisions. So take it easy, walk, rest, drink your liquids, let your family pamper you, and good luck. Blessings Letty

Hi Girls!!!

It has been almost 2 weeks, since I had surgery, and I'm feeling something like a little hard ball under my skin, on one of the incisions, it is not in port area, even though that one is a little hard too, does not have any color, and it hurts only if I put pressure on it, but it itches a little. I wrote an email to my Doctor's office and they keep telling me that it is gona go away, just put ice on it, but days go by, (I notice this 3 days ago) and I don't see any better. Did this happen to anybody? please help! I'm a little concern. Thankyou Letty

Please tell me this is normal.....I'm scared
Letty replied to Letty's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes Linda, I'm a lot better now! The ball is still there but, I talk to my doctor today on the phone and He said to keep doing the ice (like usually) also do hot pads and alternate, and wait to see what happens after a week, since there is no discharge, pain or redness, I should not worry to much (but who is He talking too?) I'm a crying baby!!! Ok I'll take it easy from now on, and practice patience like Andy said! The Best and Andy, you girls are wonderful!! thanks a lot! I'll be back Letty PS. Sorrry I could not post this before, but the computer was a little crazy. -
Please tell me this is normal.....I'm scared

Hi Girls, as you can see I'm up really early, I had nightmares!!! Mary and Victoria, what you said, it sounds very close to what I have. My Doctor email me and said to keep doing the ice, because unless it is the size of and orange, does not need to be drain. My stomach look bad since the beginning, I had a lot of bruises and it was swollen, in fact I was very scared, because I had my surgery at the same time as my friend did, and hers did not look bad at all, but well, my body is very sensitive, I always get a big bruise even from a little shot. I don't want to see my regular doctor here, She was not very optimistic with the idea of going to Mexico to have the surgery, however it was my decision and I did what I had to do, and I trust Doctor Rodriguez, the surgeon who performed my surgery, so I'm waiting for the information on the Doctor who is going to do the fills near my town, I guess it will be a better idea to see him, He is probably familiar with this kind of cases. Girls, thank you so much for your help, I appreciated! Tricia, is nice to see you here! Blessings to all!
