I am having breast reduction surgery on tuesday will having this surgery affect my band in any way? I know my appetite won't be the best for the first few days after surgery so I was wondering if I should just do like protein shakes. Hoping someone can give me a little advice on this subject. Wish me luck.

I have Tricare and they are covering me for a breast reduction so I would think that they would also help you. The only problem I had was going to see all these specialists to make sure I didn't have anything else that was causing my back problems. Tricare likes to make sure that they have all the medical facts before they make a decision. You might want to start seeing your dr. and asking for their best advice on how to go about getting approved for this procedure. Hopes this helps.

My dietician told me the best to eat is Kashi. Haven't tried it yet.

Is anyone having posture problems since their lapband? I have lost 50lbs in four months and my breasts have not decreased at all and now they are starting to cause severe back aches and the doctor said it might be from my breasts being to big? Am I the only weird case out there?

I was denied because I only had one co morbity with my weight. I had a sleep study done and they found out I had sleep apnea so that was the second co morbity I needed to help my appeal but, I still haven't heard any results.

I'm going crazy waiting to hear from tricare on my appeal. It has been since the end of April and still no word. I call every week and they say they are still working on it. What is the longest anybody has had to wait. I might have to have them add insanity for a new co morbity....

Well, got the news that I was denied. Was told that you have to be 100 pounds overweight and have certain medical complications. I'm 80 pounds overweight and have hypothyroidism,IBS, high cholesterol, arthritis,RLS and suffer from depression. I take medications for all this and said that my conditions were all under control so I have no reason to appeal this matter. So I feel that Tricare has really screwed me. Don't know what I should do. Any advise would be welcomed.

I'm hoping someone can tell me how to find out if I was approved or denied on the website. All my appointments were approved but, how do I know about the lapband?
-
I have my consult with my surgeon on monday and I am nervous about it. Any advise would be so appreciated. Also have Tricare Prime don't know if that is good or bad. Wish me luck..
-
Have you talked to your doctor about maybe getting a patch. Would be something to think about. Good Luck..

I also have tricare prime and had heard the approval rate was good. Now I'm a little worried. I have my surgeon consult on March 2nd. Did they say if you had enough medical issues that were addressed to your weight? They say that is a big factor. Well, I wish you the best and I will be so relieved after I find out if I get approved or not.

I am so relieved to hear that Tricare might not be so bad. I'm a little nervous. Next week I meet with the nurse, dietician, rehab and psychology. Two weeks later I meet with the surgeon. I'm hoping that is a good sign.

Hello everyone. I'm new to this site. I have my assessment appointments next week and surgeon appointment in March. I'm also with Tricare which I hope will not be to complicated on this matter. Hope to be approved soon. This site is so wonderful.
