    my fellow fast loser!!!!!!!!! happy bandiversary!!!!!!!!congrats to u and ur band!!!!!!!!! i LOVE to c other bandsters that lose fast...i feel like everyone thinks the only way to lose fast is to have the bypass....and then they run into BANDSTERS like us!!!!!!!!!! haha bypass patients....just kidding!!!!!!! my band and i will celebrate our 7 month anniversary on may 7th...with a loss of 117 pounds so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Errr... so frustrated

    stay on them!!!!!!!!! thats to bad for them!!!!!!!!! be aggressive....i drove the staff at my dr.s office crazy....we as wls patients start to get anxious!!!!!!!!!!! when insurance has been approved...classes have been taken...diatitions have been met with...pshyc. evaluations...the whole 9...we want the procedure done NOW :thumbup:!!!!!!!!!!!! and they'll just have to understand that!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. okay so its panniculectomy time for me!!!!!!!!!!!! im still 19 pounds away from goal...but my minor skin sores are becoming severe...and my dermatologist...surgeon and m.d....want to move 4-ward with having my excess skin removed....it has gone from semi-cosmetic to medically needed a.s.a.p....i need to talk to my boss today and request time off....i had my band sugery on a monday and came back to work that thursday...besides being a little tired i felt fine....i had a c-section with my son and was in a tremendous amount of pain!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have 2 weeks of vacation time and 8 days of sick time...so a little over 3 weeks...i have a sit down job...no lifting...i literally sit on my butt all day unless i need to use the restroom...do u think i'll need more time off than 3 weeks???????????

    the band has been nothing but a solution 4 me...a solution..a god send...an awesome tool...it gave me my life back...im able to do soooooooo much more physical activity with my son....the band is...was...and will always be my solution....:ohmy:

    my friend was all for the band!!!!!!!!!she went and saw a surgeon who refferred to the band as a waste of time...and if she really wanted to lose weight she would have the bypass....so she is now having bypass surgery...and has turned in2 a strict believer that the band doesnt work...he went on to say how much faster weight loss would b with the bypass...let me introduce myself....lol...i was banded on oct. 6th 2008...i have lost between 117-120 pounds...(i'll have an exact # after my dr. appt. today)....bypass results...but i'm banded and proud...lol...yes in less than 7 months i lost that much weight...and their r plenty of others that r banded with the same type of stories...yeah the band is not as easy...u will have to work hard...but i do believe harder work = long term success....the band will teach u to eat right and exercise...ive been around so many bypass patients how go through this very invasive surgery to lose weight real fast...just to gain it all back and then some....the bypass in my opinion is a quick fix....the lap band is a forever tool....
  12. i'm starving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm about ready to pull my hair out!!!!!!!!!! i go for my 5th fill 2morrow....my sweet spot was perfect 4 about 3 months...now i'm only staying full for 2 hours...i'm soooooooooooo close to goal....will 2morrow ever get here??????????????
  13. Everyone likes to attack weight loss differently. There are those who like to combine exercise and nutrition; others change their eating only; and some would rather hit the gym and run rather than give up their favorite foods. Weight loss is possible by watching what you eat exclusively, but the research says that any successful long-term weight loss program includes a strong exercise component. In fact people who diet often regain all the weight they've lost and then some. Not to mention that constantly restricting food can be irritating, leaving us feeling grumpy, tired and hungry all of the time. So why is exercise better? 1. Exercise changes your metabolism Physical activity changes the energy equilibrium (your metabolism) of your body by increasing the amount of energy your body needs every day. 2. Cardio burns calories One pound of fat is equal to 3500 calories. So to lose weight you need a calorie deficiency of 500 a day to lose a pound a week (500 x 7 days = 3500). It's better to eliminate calories with exercise because restricting food can actually lower your metabolism. 3. Activity breeds more activity Studies show that individuals who exercise are generally more active throughout the day. 4. Working out builds muscle You can increase muscle mass and the size of your muscle fiber by exercising (especially weight bearing activity). In order to nourish these fibers the body uses calories from fat that are stored in the body. As your energy requirements go up, you burn more fat during exercise and all day long. So the more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns, the faster you lose weight. I'm not going to lie: It's hard to burn tons of calories through exercise alone. That is a lot of mornings hoofing it on the treadmill. Obviously for the best success, combining caloric restriction with exercise will get you to your goals faster. I like to eat high water-content and fiberous foods like veggies and fruits that are low in calories but still fill me up. Find a few activities that you really enjoy doing, and get in at least twenty to thirty minutes a session a few times a week. My knees are bad, so even though jogging/running is a great calorie burner, I have to take a spin class or do a rigorous walk in order to get my time in. Figure out what is best for you so that you'll be able to maintain these activities on a regular basis and, ultimately, make a lasting life change.

    Extra sklin...post band?

    horrible!!!!!!!!! i had a c-section ...my son was 10 pounds 8 ounces...so i already sported the apron stomach...i have an appt. 2 c my surgeon wednesday for a fill and to dicuss a plastic surgeon..i do have minor complications due to the excess skin...and have all the documents to back up the complications...i'm hoping my insurance will cover some of it...i say to myself how can something look soo good in clothes...but sooo bad out of them....lol

  16. i'm going for my 5th fill on wednesday...my last fill hit my sweet spot 4 about 3 months...but i notice i dont feel as full 4 as long as i was...i like to eat every 4-5 hours...i'm still watching what i eat and how much of it...but im starting to get hungry!!!!!!!!!!!....lol 7:30 a.m....1 cup of coffee...2 bolied eggs...and a yoplait yougurt...with a teaspoon of fiber1 Cereal...to keep my plumbing moving...lol noon....1/2 cup of tuna with mayo and celery mixed in 6p.m....i will probably have 1 chicken breast from el pollo loco and a small pinto bean...thats a treat for me...i'll take mexican food over candy anyday!!!!!!!1lol sipping on a Protein drink throughout the day....

  19. i go to 7-11 every morning on my way to work to get a super gulp full of ice...a tow trunk driver pulled up next to me b4 i got out of my car and started to flirt...i told him i'm married...which i am...and very happily...i would like to add...but i guess i hurt his ego...when i got out of my car he yelled out his window "ur too skinny 4 me anyway...u aneroxic looking b*$&@#!!!!!"....lol...thats the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me...
  20. i love my band...and am sooooooooo thankful i had this surgery!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT the excess skin is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!! i look so good in clothes...but i get so depressed when i c this mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm about 15-20 pounds away from goal and i just want it off!!!!!!!! its causing sores and itching and its just horrible!!!!!!!!!!!! the skin is my biggest complaint...i'm trying to think positive and look on the bright side...but how did some of u mentally deal with the excess skin....?????????
