Great to hear from you Ann. You were missed. I took a ton of clothes out of my closet that are too big. I can pull them down while they are still zipped. That's so cool. Good thing I have six huge containers of clothes put away that are too small. I can already wear a few of them.

Yes, too slow. I am down to a pound a week if I am lucky. I have scheduled 2nd fill for the 21st. Mine will always be with fluro, so maybe I get enough this time to have some restriction. I can eat anything, and way too much if I want to. I don't care to have any episodes like others have had to endure, however, I do want to get the most out of the band. Patience, Patience! Not my best quality. At least the weight is not going up.

Only down .8 this week. 181 now. I am still heading in the right direction, just too slow for me so I have scheduled a second fill for 9/21. I am wondering what they will do on the second since the first was 3cc's. I notice some people have very small amounts added. I guess if fills are done with flouroscopy, and they see you swallow, they can do larger amounts. We'll see. I know this is just too slow for me. I guess the bottom line is we are all still getting it done. Good luck to everyone next week. Oh, by the way Ann. I was standing at the deli at Giant Eagle a few days ago buying stuff for an Itial. hoagie for my husband thinking how much I would love to have one. All the sudden an image of a cat and a mouse popped in my head saying "remember diet" I laughed out loud in the store. They probably thought I was nuts. Anyway thanks for the laugh! It helps.

Happy Birthday John and to all the others in August.

Morning everyone. Down 1.6 this week. 181.8 now. I'm happy with that considering Tue. was my B. day and I ate bad stuff more than once. Hope everyone had a good week. Cheers to the next one.

WOW!, You are living proof that this works. You look amazing. Also, it's really nice to see who you are. After all you did start this whole thing. Keep up the good work because you inspire us.

Down 2.2 this week. Not as much as I had hoped considering I was up .6 last week. I am happy it's going the right direction though. 183.4 Good luck next week everyone!
-
Well, well. I am up .6 this week, 185.6 I hate this part, even though I know it to expect fluctuation and no loss at times. I did think it would be better after the fill though. Maybe I should schedule a second fill. we'll see. Good luck to everyone next week.

This is a rant, and yes - I know better even.

Thanks for the encouraging words Jennifer, I am also up .6 this week. I know it could be Water weight etc.. but to me it still means no real weight loss. I hate this part. I know it's how it woks but I still don't like it. Hang in there everyone. -
So it's been a while since we've all had our May surgery...

I had my first fill this week, 3cc's and I still cannot relate to restriction. I am full a little quicker, and stay full an little longer, but I don't get what the feeling restricted is. Once in a while I have to wait a sec for something to pass down, but that's it. I have never had anything stuck, except for a pill I took when I first got home from the hospital. I still cut, chop, and smash everything, and take small bites just in case. I guess I'll just have to see what happens after more fills. -
Everyone is doing so good.. It's great to see everyone progress. I am down 1.8 lbs this week. I was hoping for more since I starved for a couple of days after the fill. That's OK, I'll take it. That puts me a 185, and moving right along. Have a good week-end, and good luck to everyone next week.

First Fill Experiences For The Mayo BANDitos
rguay replied to John337's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So I had my first fill yesterday 3 cc's. The fill was simple. I had a couple of xrays first, then the actual fill with fluoroscopy. I could hardly feel it. It's pretty weird to see your stomach with the band around it. The problem I am having is 3 days of liquids again, then 3 days of mushies. I can handle the mushies but the liquids kill me. That's how I ended up back in the hospital last time. Did anyone else have this routine? It seems a bit much. I feel fine and can drink everything very easily. How long did everyone else wait to eat again? -
Down 3.2 this week. That makes up for last week, thank goodness. First fill scheduled for Monday. Hope that helps the hunger inbetween meals. Good luck to everyone next week!

Thanks for the tip "Singing". That had not occured to me. I know I don't drink enough. I can't find anything I like except for the peach tea I make, no sugar of course. I have to have someone cover for me when I leave my desk, so I try not to drink too much. Health wize though that's not good. I didn't know about the Water pushing food through faster. Thanks Ann. Diet Coke and Diet Ginger Ale, oh how I miss them. Oh well, it's worth it. -

Hi everyone, You guys are doing so well. As for me, once I got past the second stay in the hosp. I have been doing fine. I was losing good until recently, but that seems to be the norm. I really need that first fill. Can't wait till the 27th. I was too hot all of the time, and now I am too cold all of the time. The port site still is tender at times, and sometimes it's uncomfortable when I bend over. I have one little incision that keeps getting a little irritated. Not bad though. I am eating no more than 1200 cals a day, but I can eat anything. I am making really good food choices almost all of the time. I have a lot more energy. I was down to three pair of pants I could wear, now I can wear all of what I call my "big clothes." Darn'd if I was buying bigger clothes. My heart rate was 51 the other morning and blood pressure lower than I have seen in awhile. I asked our Medical Director if 51 was ok and she said yes. I am dizzy sometimes, so I think it's time to revisit the medication. How great it that for a result. That's probably more than you all wanted to know but I know I really like hearing how all of you are doing. -
Oh brother, no loss this week. Ugh! I remember this from when I did a five shake a day diet through Health Management Resources, UCI Irvine, California. It's really hard when you are starving and have no loss. This is much better. Either I will lose even more by next week or I'll lose again after the fill on the 27th. I guess what I am trying to say is it's great to know that it will come off, and when it does, this time it will stay off. Good luck to everyone this week!

I am waiting to see what happens after I start getting fills. So far I can eat anything, however I am making healthy food choices. I just cut it small, chew well, and eat very small portions. This includeds Pasta, bread and even lean steak. Nothing has gotten stuck. I hope it continues. I have IBS so some of the problem foods from befor may still be a problem. I feel 100% better with the healthy diet.

Not drinking before/during/after meals...
rguay replied to Carriedaway78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
From what I remember I think the only reason we shouldn't drink before is so that we don't fill up on Water, therefor not getting enough nutrition. After, so that we don't have a problem with over filling. Does anyone else remember if that is correct? I do take little sips if I need to. It's funny, I have more touble getting water and mashed potatoes down than most things. Everyone is so different. -
What was your surgery date and how much are you down since?
rguay replied to Carriedaway78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Since surgery date 5/27/09, I am down 20.5 but whose counting? ha ha -

I just take little tiny sips. It doesn't seem to stop me from eating too much if I wanted to. However, my first fill isn't until two weeks yet. -
Down only 1lb this week. Slowing down just as I thought it would. Scheduled 1st fill for 7/27/09, YAY!. That will be my two month mark. I am more than ready. As always, it's great to read all of your posts.

Down 2more lbs this week. Total 22, 60 to go. Everyone is doing so well. Contrats to all.
-
Wow! down 3 more lbs this week. I'm suprised. 3 before surgery, 17 since 5/27. I know this will slow down but I'm happy now. No fills as of yet but based on the Realize band criteria I think I will need to schedule one in a few weeks.
-
I'm down 3 more lbs this week. Total of 17 lbs now. I'm sure this will slow down soon. That's ok i'm not in a great big hurry. I would just like steady progress.
