ok...so I had 3cc'c filled on Thursday and have no restrictions what so ever, I don;t understand why this is? If I am banded and the band is tightened do to saline why wouldn't I have even a little restriction. How does this really work? Do yo usually have to pay for another, if it is only been 3 days since fill?

Hi, I had the same thing happen to me, my throat hurt for two weeks. I went to the Dr. and they said it was because of the intubation. it was worse than having strep throat...I couldn't even swallow and everything burned going down. It finally went away, and what a relief, my sore throat was by far worse then the surgery and post lab band pain. It will go away though, be patient. If it will make you feel better, have your Dr. rule out strep or any other viral or bacteria infection, and then just try an relax suck on halls and and spray with cloreseptic that helped numb it a bit. Also gargle with salt Water and try and eat something that will scratch the back of your throat like toast or dry crackers. This really finally helped me, and it seemed to heal faster after I ate something kind of abrasive. good luck and I hope this helps.

I eat scrambled eggs now, or poached. I eat a little mozzeralla chz... a little saltine crackers, tuna, any soups, ww tst chicken and even salads, but I eat very slow and chew...chew...chew... Haven't had any problems at all. Just eat healthy... I noticed my restriction isn't that much, I can't wait until my first fill, then It will be even more restricted and I will have to be more careful on portion size.

yes, I still have gas pains in my left shoulder and and left side of chest, it is gas from eating or drinking, but it subsides... Everyday is different....I was banded on April27, 2009 too.

Hi April bansters, I was banded on April 27, 09. I am still sore and swollen. It has been about 10 days... How long does the swollen stomach last? And I feel my port move when I bend over. It is located upper left beneath my left breast... How about everyone else? I have like 5 little scars and one that is about 2 1/2 inches long that I am assuming is the port scar... my throat is very sore and very red... It feels as though I have strep but I don't. Foods/liquids irriate and burn it. Tylenol gives me some relief, but as soon as it wears off I need an other dose right away. What do you think this could be? I have been to the Dr. and he says this is normal and will go away. It hasn't yet, and he even gave me a antibiotic. 6 days post-op now.

Hi everyone, I am not sure where my port is? I guess it is where I have the largest incision, under my left breast. It feels hard and is very unconfortable when I bend over towards that direction. I have several small incisions, because of my tummy tuck back in 04. Dr. said he had to modifify some things becuz of the tightend muscles due to the tummy tuck. Not sure what he really meant. I have a total of of 5 incisions. One is a few inches in width which I am assuming is the port entrance, the others are much smaller. Let me know about your incisions please. I was banded in Juarez Mexico, by Dr. Natera, on April 27, 2009. Just 6 days ago. He, the hospital staff and the Hospital were amazing. :thumbdown:

I have not had my first fill yet did anyone kind of feel not restricted at all after surgery? I am starting soft solids and seem fine with it, is this normal? I have not felt nauseas nor have I vomited. not that I want to but is this normal?

Has anyone experienced a severe sore throat after surgery? My lapband dr and my regular physician say that it is from the breathing tubes that have irritated the back of my throat and the uvalla. I have like a white piece of skin dangling off of the uvalla. I have been checked for strep and everything else and to no unvail have found nothing wrong except an irritation kills me. Everything burns going down, and I barely can tolerate the pain. I have been given a mega dose of an antibiotic for 6 days and I am on my third day with still pain. I have no fever and feel fine other then extreme pain in my throat. It feels as though I have strep, but apparently I don't. Has anyone else had this problem? I was banded on April 27, 2009 Just 5 days ago.

Hi everyone, I am new on this site and I am going to be banded in just a few days in juarez, Mexico, with Dr. Natera. I am so excited but also very nervous. My BMI is 29, and they said I didn't need to do a pre-op liquid diet either because my BMI being lower then some. Any suggestions on foods and liquids to stock up on? Also how do you get the little BMI chart that everyone has on their posts? Let me know, Thank you Barb:)
