Caribou, If you don't mind me asking, did you have to pay and if so, how much? I am just finding out that OHIP doesn't pay and I doubt that I can afford it. Thanks

    CIBO Clinic (toronto)

My Doctor is talking about referring me to Dr. Sullivan in Toronto if I can't get it done in Ottawa. Does anyone know what he/she charges for a lap band and how long the wait is at this time
  3. I'm very grateful for your your help! I may need to get more detailed to understand. When you PB, you spit up food and when you slime you spit up saliva? Is that correct and if so, do you have control or does it actually come out? Can you discreetly keep a napkin with you and get rid of it or do you choke? Is it (worse case scenerio) something that happens 20 times a meal or 20 times a year? Also, I also agree with banding over bypass.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Have you noticed?

I am real newbie and do want to know what PB is? Excuse my ignorance! I am reading everything I can, but have still not come across an answer to this. Thanks!
  5. Hello out there! I am expecting to get banded this summer. Has anyone gone through Dr. Dent in Ottawa (Ontario, Canada) for the recomendation to Dr. Graber in Utica (New York, USA)? Also, Dr. Dent is recommending the RNY bypass, but I would really prefer the Lap Band from all I've read. It seems a little less invasive and leaves you with a slightly more normal lifestyle. (From what I understand bypass, never any caffiene or alcohol, but with lap band a glass of wine occasionally is ok and coffee is tolerable for many). Any comments would be appreciated!

  7. I'm new hoping (expecting) to be banded this summer. Has anyone taken the route of going through Dr. Dent in Ottawa, Canada to Dr. Graber in Utica, NY? If so, how was your experience. Also, Dr. Dent has recommended a RNY gastric bypass and I am much more in favor of the lap band from what I have read. Will I have a choice and any comments on which is better?
