I want to lick things...
megster27 replied to Pangaeus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thats so funny! When I was in the preop diet stage for 3 week, it was the toughest for me! I actualy wanted a ritz cracker so bad that I chewed it up (after my husband went to bed) and spit it out! It was shamefull now that I look back at it, b/c I was so sneaky about it. I wasn't even hungry- I just wanted it! -

hello from Tennessee! Help!
megster27 replied to teebaby_karen's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am from Nashville too, so my first step was going to my surgeon. Dr. Morton at Baptist is one of the best in the area and he has an insurance team that walks you through everything!! I went to a free insurance consult with a girl named Ebony in their office. It was quick and she explained everything I needed to do and she took it all out of my hands. I was approved within a week and my surgery was about a month and a half later. Everywhere is different, but it is worth calling his team to find out if you like them. -
i miss my food so much
megster27 replied to cindie74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There isn't any reason you can't have a steak- infact I eat one about every other day. It is a great source of protien! If you are PBing after every meal, then it seems you might be too tight. It shouldn't be that often that you PB. The band isn't torture, you should be able to have things you love in moderation and small amounts. -
I just saw your ticker...and wow!! You have lost a lot of wieght so far! Thats great, just wanted to tell you how awesome of a job you are doing!!

2nd Fill & 2LB gain 2 days after?
megster27 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never fluctuate in weight, so for me to gain a half a pound worries me. However, I got on the scale this morning after being on liquids for 2 days now after my 2nd fill on Tuesday to find that I had gained 2 pounds! How could this be? All I had yesterday and the day before was 2 protien shakes & chicken broth with pureed chicken! I am frustrated for the first time in the process and just cant understand how this is possible. Has this happened to anyone else? -

when did you lose clothes sizes not just lbs.?
megster27 replied to pappyny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had wondered the same thing... I had lost like 25 pounds before I needed to go down a size. I kept thinking, when will my pants size change. Then I went to visit my parents out of town and my Mom told me my clothes were just falling off. Turns out she was right and I tried on a smaller size & it fit perfectly. I guess I still had the old image of myself in my head. Just to give you a little of an idea, I am 5 foot even and weighed 218 to begin with, I needed to loose 88 pounds. I was at about 190 before I changed a size. I am now at 186 and can tell less pounds now, make a bigger difference. However, people still say the most dreaded phrase to me "I can REALLY tell in your face" and my response in my head is always, COME ONE PEOPLE, I DIDN'T LOOSE 32LBS (so far) IN MY FACE!! God luck, it wont be long now until you feel extra room in your garmets! -
I am just wondering, have any of you used Curves or known anyone who has? I have always failed misserably with excersize, but now I feel that I have my food intake under control, after 3 months of making a new life style for myself. I believe I am ready to under take a new excersize routine and be sucessful at it! I would love to try Curves, but wonder if you get a good work out from it... Thanks for any advice you all may have!

Oh yea, that is normal. Mine is the same way. I actually just asked my doctor about it a few days ago and he said it should go away in about a year. It is just scar tissue and sometimes that can cause a numbing sensation.

Same here, I was in the middle of mine and he said all was good. I just had a pad on until right before surgery..not sure what measures they took during surgery.
