Thanx for that mmm £100 is quite a lot, I might go have a look at them see how they feel, I like walking and would like to walk a lot more than I do now. We do go as a family on a Sunday hike but thats ussually up a hill or something like that where you need to wear walking boots. Yesterday we went for a walk which intailed going along a beach and up a hill on a path, but we got cut off by the tide and had to scale what seemed like a very steep mountain! With a belly like mine this was no mean feet!!!! I should really stick to normal walking! Love Fatpants:tongue: -

Hi Everyone! mmm Glad to hear your back and all went well, what are the injections you are talking about? As I am plannu=ing going by myself one of the things I thought I had better have are slip on shoes, otherwise I saw myself asking the night porter to tie me laces! Are these MBT trainers slip on? Where did you buy them? Shoes what's the name of the book that you've been reading? Well I went shopping the other day, I bought those 'opsite' plasters from super drug, I got the bio oil, nurofen melts, mild laxitive, lucozade energy sweets for sucking, I also got 'sea kelp' this is good for hair growth and healthy hair, I got Zinc but I can't remember what that was for and I bought arnica tablets this helps repair bruising from the inside. Anyway if I have forgotten anything p[lease let me know, I don't think you can be too prepared. I just need the joggers and sliop on shoes now and I'll be set to go! Look after yourselves! -

Hey wishful, you've had to buy smaller jeans already! How much have you lost now, did you loose weight doing the pre op diet? Did you actually get given a pre op fact sheet about the diet or did you just buy everything low fat? Well done on your smaller jeans! Keep up the good work! As it's just been 4 weeks since your op I am assuming you haven't had a fill yet either! Hey Bigsister, you never said how you were doing, are you fine, is everything okay? Gillian you lost a stone in the first week! My god no wonder you only lost 2lb in the next week your body must have been in over shock! From what I've been reading it seems that people are losing around the stone mark per MONTH, not in a week! So if you are not having a fill until 9 weeks post op does that mean this is also your first follow up? Miss Flump where are you? have you put more posts on UTUBE? How's your progress, you must keep us informed to give us inspiration! And last but by no means least! Miss flistylass Where are you? We haven't heard from you for ages, how are you getting on? Hey you guys look after yourselves and keep loving yourselves! -

Hi guys how are we all doing today. I feeling fine as I went back to bed for a wee nap mid morning! I have just had a wee treat after lunch: a bag of Malteezers, a Crunchie and a boost! That's probably why I feel so chirpie now! Also I really enjoyed the chocolate as my husband wasn't looking over my shoulder! English Rose, what a star! The prospect oif loosing all that weight in such a shoet time is ammazing! Well done you must be feeling great! I too kept all my clothes, I used to have nice clothes size 12/14, then I had babies! I decided a couple of years ago that i@d never wear then again and got rid of them all. I am now verging on a size 22, all scabby clothes from Evans, actually there not clothes there tents gone wrong! I am now looking forward to buying a whole new wardrobe of nice clothes, not baggy maternity type clothes to hide my barrel type figure! How did you get that ticker on your chat thing, I have tried to do it but it doesn't work! Hi Shoes I didn't have a meeting in this country, Frederick is meeting me at 6:15 am, yes in the morning!, in the hotel where we are dealing with the finances, he will then take me to the hospital to do the admin, and then I'll meet the Dr. I'm not sure what time the op is I can only imagine from what everyone has been saying it'll take place sometime in the morning. -

I just wrote my soul on a reply, when I clicked the 'post quick reply' button it all disappeared! So here goes again! Wishing all of you heading to Belgium today the best of luck and I hope all goes well. I want to say I think this site is really important as a support mechanism for one another, we all understand each other and we know what we are going through. We have all been through and/or going through stages that someone else on this chat site has already been, is now or approaching. I beleive that this site is a recovery program for our 'condition', it's our 'counselling' for each other. But it's 'counselling' with a difference, the 'councellor' is infact being 'councelled'! Sorry, this is turning out completely different from what I actually wrote before, what I am trying to say is we are helping each other in a way that no Dr or councellor or friend could ever help us. Thank You. Take care of each other and keep up the good work with all the postsa of your progress! -

To all the Girls especially: wishfull Freckles Shoes mmm bigsister & Gillian Please forgive me if I've missed anyone! Thank you sooooooo much for all your words of wisdom and comfort, thank goodness for this chat wesite, I don't know how I would have managed without it! I really believe the obesity is a decease or an addiction, but has not yet been recognised as such, look at all the help lines on the NHS to stop smoking, is that not self inflicted, look at the NHS 'dry out' clinics for alcaholics. What do we get apart from being humiliated by stupid consultants with all their make up and high heels, telling you you need counselling, and not listening when you tell them you've already had councelling. When I told the consultant I knew what was wrong with me and I knew what I should be doing to loose the weight, she said well why aren't you doing it then! I think the NHS is a disgrace and that f***ing women should be put down. She turned me into a raving lunatic....I should have been on the Jeremy Kyle show! I am ussually a well mannared controlled person, but that day I lost the plot. I had been sent to her to see if I could get funded on the NHS to have the operation done at a privat hospital, as the hospital closest to us has closed their waiting list, I found this out 6 months after my GP referred me there, and within 5 minutes of meeting her she turned round and said I should try counselling. Stupid skinny COW!!! I was so angry, For the sake of sanity and self preservation I would recommend anyone needing this op to go privately! Thank you girls for being there for me I appreciate all of your words, we must stick together! -
Dear Lisa, This is a patient chat forum, if you want to chat to Dr Chris De Bruyne you should go on their web site where there is a lot of information and a direct email address to the dr. here is the link for the website: Obesity Consultations - Obesity Assist - Obesity Surgery I got so much information from this website and the doctors website, I also spoke to someone who has been to Belgium for the surgery that I didn't feel a pre op meeting was necessary, I emailed all my medical details to the Dr and he was satisfied to go ahead, my surgery is on the 17 of March. There is also a better 'thread' on this chat site, it's more recent and up to date, you just need to keep reading the chates to find out more info. It is very informative and supportive, you get to recognise the people writting on it! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f11/anyone-know-dr-de-bruyne-chris-41669-new/ All the best with your quest! Fatpants

Dear Flirtylas, WELL WELL DONE! You must be ecstatic! It's people like you that give the rest of inspiration to go on and look forward to our ops. Mine is on the 17 March, it seems so far away, I wish is was tomorrow! Since I got my date I seem to be eating for Scotland, every meal is like the last supper! I can't stand it anymore, I know I have made the right decision to have this band fitted as it's the only way I'm going to loose weight. I am miserable being fat, I hate myself, I hate myself because I cannot take control of my life and eat properly and exercise like 'normal people' do to loose weight. When I told my sister what I was doing her response was 'well YOU ARE what YOU EAT!' As you can imagine that made me feel great, NOT! I just wish I had the energy and enthussiasm to do it myself, but the thought od it just makes me feel tired and I want to curl up in bed! I did it before but as soon as you stop trying it just all goes back on and the rest on top of it! Can you tell I,m feeling depressed, I am very tearful today, my husband and I are not getting on very we3ll I tried to talk to him about this but it seems useless as we just start arguing and that is not what I want. I asked him if he minded me spending the money on the op and he said he didn't, but I know it's all the money we have and we have lots of other things we could be spending it on. Anyway I just feel crap today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Fatpants here, I just read about the tummy tuck scenario, as someone else said everyone is different, that poor lady just had bad luck.... Anyway I was wondering about the pre-op diet, do you get instructions on what or how much to eat? Or is it left up to yourself - just eat low fat? Fatpants -

Hi Ashley, I'm being banded on the 17th too! Where are you getting your op done? fatpants! -
Hi munger,
I just thought I had lost your message without having replied to you, but I managed to retrieve it by pushing the back button. I am new to this and I,m just learning how to use the system! Well I am 46 and I weigh 236ibs and I need to loose 74lbs so as that I can have a tummy tuck. I have a huge sagging, fat tummy which I hate and so I get depressed and eat!!! I have 6 kids the last two were twins and weighed in at 7lb5 and 6lb13, I am 5'5 and my tummy was extremely large so big I could hardly walk at 37 weeks and begged the doctors to induce me, I couldn't function, at home I had a 3,4,5 and 13 year old at home and I felt useless as I was so big! Anyway my aim is to loose enough to have a tummy tuck and be able to wear normal clothes instead of smock tops and baggy tops, I ussually look pregnant! Any way I would love to keep intouch with you so as that we can follow each others progress.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Dear Gillian, I have know idea has I haven't had the band fitted yet, but I suspect If you do get them you should make sure you chew each mouthful 20 times then it's sure to be like puree for going down, might give you sore chaw though!!!!:bananalama: Fatpants -

Hi Flirtlass, I'm due to get my op on the 17 march. I just read that you have lost 4 and 1/2 stone since September, that just seems like a dream! I weigh 16 stone 12 at the moment and I'd be happy to get down to 11 stone 8lbs which will give me a BMI of 27 and then I can get a tummy tuck!!!!! I hate my tummy, after 6 kids, the last 2 were twins and weighted 7lb5 and 6lb13, my belly was enormous and has never been the same since! I put my weight gain done to being depressed about my belly, so to make me feel better.....of course I COMFORT EAT all the bad things of course! Do you mind telling me what you weighed when you started and how often you had fills. If you don't want to write it for all to see I can give you my email address. Reading all these chats from everyone is very inspirational and I am beginning to get excited! :bananalama: Although sice I booked my surgery my husband has started looking at expensive bikes, which is pretty worrying as this op is taking all our savings and the rest, I hope he doesn't think he can buy toys to the equivalent value on our credit cards!!!!!!!!:cheers2::present: Fatpants -

Dear Tanyac, I e-mailed Frederik and asked him for the basic price of the op 3700 Euros. There package deal is very reasonable, 4070 leaves 370 for the hotel and taxis. I priced the taxis and the Hotel Campanile in Vilvoorde and it basically come to 370 Euros, but I found a web site that was giving a 30% discount on the hotels and I only booked for 2 nights as I'm going alone I don't need the room the night I'm in hospital. The guy in the Hotel Campanile said if you take a particular taxi and tell the driver Hotal Campanile 19 Euros, it should cost 19 instead of 26 Euros. All in all I'm only saving £125, but for me this is a lot as my flight are cost £300 return. I saw return flight from Heathrow to Brussels for £80, unfortuneately it cost too much for me to get to Heathrow! I think the package deal offered by the clinic is best for peace of mind, especially if you are not familiar with going abroad! I've lived abroad in many different countries and I also speek French so I am confident I'll be ok!!!!! -
