Ow! You are so lucky! Romance is such a lovely thing. Will he be expecting a treat in return? Sorry, can't help myself! I know that that would be the case hear! It's not fair, my husband is such an Ogre and not a nice one like Shrek! He just says Bah hum bug to every thing! On Valentines day I gave him a nice romantic card, a bouquet of Roses and a box of chocolates, that was in the morning, in the evening I did a romantic candle lit dinner for two. What did he do....I hope you're not expecting anything, you know I don't believe in this rubbish! Oh, you enjoy it wishful, keep the romance going as long as you can. Fatpants

Mandy, Cut and paste this link: Obesity Consultations - Obesity Assist - Obesity Surgery It's Chris's web site, there's loads of info there and contact details as well. I have not been for my op yet, but am going soon. I emailed Chris directly, I gave him all my medical history etc, and he gave me a date. I have seen no-one, I have not had to pay a deposit, Frederik said just to pay the whole lot when I get there. The pre consultation is important if you have lots of questions needing answered, I was lucky enough to speak to someone directly who has been to Brussels and had the op done by Chris. I also found this forum that has been extremely helpful, informative & supportive. I did not feel I needed the pre consultation. Infact I am only paying for the op and arranged everything else myself, it was marginally cheaper. But I think the deal Chris offers is fantastic, especially if you do not speak french or flemmish, you have nothing to worry about it is all done for you! Good luck with your quest! Fatpants

Hi girls and boys, You have been having fun! I've just been laughing at all the messages over the last few pages. It sounds as if Flirty and Garry are starting up a cyber romance! You guys all sound on form, there must be something in the air, are you sure it's just saline Frederik puts in these bands and not something else thats seeping through into your systems! Oh Flirty you are so lucky, buying clothes you actually like! I am refuseing to buy new clothes as I want to go mad when I reach my target weight. I have, however been trying to buy something new for my trip, all I can say .... is who designs fat peoples clothes!? It's a nightmare trying to find something that doesn't look like a maternity top, that fits round my bingo wings, and is long enough to cover my belly! My eldest son was home last night, he cooked dinner for us, he's a comi chef, he made a beautiful meal for us! A chicken pasta dish for the kids, and a thai seafood curry with noodles for us, of course he was under strict instructions NO FAT, it was delicious, I even had seconds! Tonight for dinner I decided not to cook and eat all the left overs, Oh lovely I thought I would have the same again, thankfully...I happened to look in a cupboard for something and discovered he had used a block of creamed coconut in the thai curry! Very highly fatty...and I stuffed my face with it last night! Oops! You guys all sound like you are doing really well! Freckles how's your Ma? Gillian - you know what they say - "if only I knew then what I know now", hinsite (don't know how to spell) would be great thing, I remember being a size 12 and wearing baggy jumpers to cover the tops of my jeans, I wore size 12 jeans all the time, nice ones from Beneton and places like that (is that giving my age away), I hung on to them for ages thinking I would fit into them again one day. The years past and the likely hood of me ever fitting into my old clothes seemed like a far distant dream. I got rid of them all, so now I am looking forward to a very expensive shopping trip at the end of this journey. And by the sounds of it according to you lot I won't have to wait too long. I really can't wait, as at the mo shopping is a nightmare I rarely go on! Takecare all of you, keep the good work up, you are all an inspiration! Fatpants

Thanks Gillian, I'm glad you told me that as I thought I was over reacting, I just felt I had been attacked for supporting someone in need. I am going to be really strict now until I go for my op. I really didn't even enjoy the bloody chocolate anyway, I was stuffing it down my throat as if there was no tomorrow! You take care now Fastpants

  10. Hi big bones, This is Fatpants, I have spoken with Jewy, we're all being banded on the same day in Brussels! You are doing really well on your low fat diet, I can't believe you've lost 12 lbs, you must be really strict. I had lost 8 lbs but I lapsed yesterday and ate chocolate, I've now put some back on, I'm going to be really strict now! Take care, presumably see you soon! Fatpants

Well it's Fatpants here! I just want to tell you all that I got quite upset and frustrated after writing that long message this afternoon. I neglected my work and my kids because I felt so strongly that freckles should not be intimidated into not writing about what is important to her. Her Mother is I am sure a huge part of her life and if she feels like telling us whats happening, I, for one want to here it. Anyway, my low fat diet went out the window this afternoon as I just, comfort ate, a whole cadbury's Easter Egg!!!!!! ALL of you take Care Fatpants

Dear Freckles, I think poor Vanessa has taken the whole of the NHS on her shoulders and feels bad about your Mother. I dearly hope you stand by your guns, and do make a complaint, the NHS has to be responsable and answerable for the lack of care they offer in some wards. If we all sat back and did nothing how many other parents are going to suffer from the lack of care. Please don't stop posting about your mother and how you are getting on with her. I think you are to be commended sticking up for your mother, if not for you what would happen to her? Please do not be put off posting, I look forward to hearing of your mothers progress. You take care now Fatpants

I AM SORRY TO ANYONE I OFFEND OR CAUSE UPSET TO BY POSTING THIS MESSAGE. I FEEL VERY BAD FOR FRECKLES, AND I THINK THAT SHE, & ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER, SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE THIS FORUM TO HELP WITH THE BURDENS OF EVERYDAY LIFE, WHICH, ARE PROBABLY AT THE ROUTE OR CAUSE FOR US ALL BEING HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Dear Vanessa, I have just read all the posts, and I agree with those that say the forum is primarily for band chats, but if you think about it why are we all fat? I know I am fat because I turn to food to counsol myself when I'm stressed or going through diffecult times. If we hade somewhere to of load like this forum maybe there wouldn't be the need for the comfort eating and we'd all be slim! I know I have written personal things on here that are nothing to do with the band, and I have been very grateful fror all the comments and feedback! I think it is a sad outcome to what is obviously a very hard time for one of our fellow banders who looked to her comerades in arms for support and a place to off load to. Anyhow, as you chose my message to reply to even though it's not my Mother who is in hospital, but I have posted several messages for freckles who's mother is in hospital. I do feel strongly about the situstion, I have first and second hand experience of lack of care in the hospital system. Please note that it is the SYSTEM that is in the wrong and not the individual nursing who are within the system dealing with the everyday horrors that they must deal with. My friend, who is herself a nurse, saw her mother being mistreated by the lack of nursing and care she received whilst in hospital where she died. Another friend, who's husband was a Doctor, saw her Mother in a very similar situation to Freckles Mother, she also died in hospital. Both od these ladies where relatively well and fit & active for their ages, they both went to hospital for minor reasons, and deteriorated wilst in the care of the NHS. You say family should come in at meal times and care for the relative, well one of my friends did exactly this, even though she was told that it was not visiting time, she was made to feel most unwelcome by the nursing staff. But it was her mother, and she got on with it, she did what she could. You are obviously a nurse, and what Freckles, me and everyone else have been saying has struck a cord, it is not a personal attack and so you should not take it that way. I have been in hospital so many times, 5 births, 3 miscarriages, 5 operations, on every occassion I have received fantastic care, the nurses were extraordinary, if anything I would say they are worth their weight in gold, what an amazing job they do, they ARE UNDER PAID AND OVER WORKED, I agree with you 100%. It is the system that does not fulfill its duty of care to SOME patients. Fatpants

Ah, well I cheated! My profile picture is about 2 1/2 years old and three stone lighter! If you look at the other photos, say the walk to the windmills, I tagged myself on a photo, it's mostly around my belly but it's spreading! I'm a size 20/22. Fatpants

Isn't it terrible, just to receive normal patient care someone has to complain. I am so glad to hear your Mum is doing better now. For her to have improved so quickly they probably gave here antibiotics aswell as saline solution through the drip, that would help the infection she had, which would have been causing her to be hilucinating, or not all there for want of better words! I am really relieved for you, but still be strong at the meeting because you want this care to continue. Take care Fatpants
  17. Don't be sad Munger, this operation is going to make you better - then you can get the band later. Chin up girl! fatpants

Hi Wishfull, Why's that then? Fatpants
  19. I have been OK so far, it helps that it's lent and I made the kids give up chocolate, although they get Sundays off, and I have a stash of chocolate that's been given to the kids in my wardrobe that they can have then, but I have been having dreams about it! I have basically stopped eating anything that requires buttering as it is just too much for me to resist Lurpak! Tonight I ate a chip off my husbands plate and all I could taste was oil so I didn't have anotherone! I decided not to punish myself with anything like slimfast as we'll soon have no choice! Why does everyone drink slimfast anyway, is it because of the minerals and vitimins? Take care Fatpants
  20. Hi jewy, How are you coping on the low fat diet? I was worried about it but it seems to be going fine. I wasn't sure what low fat meant, so I e-mailed the doctor and he just the less fat the better! So I am only taking skimmed milk, no butter or cheese, obviously no sweets, chocolate or anything fried in oil. I'm trying only to eat lean meat, loads of veg etc...basically cutting out everything with fat in it. What have you been doing? I see you've lost 4lbs, well done, I seem to have lost some weight too. I started thinking maybe I can do this myself without the band, reality struck, how long would I ;ast before I lapsed. At least with the band lapses are control in quantity! Take care Fatpants
  21. What is included in the mommy makeover? I am getting worried about what happens to your body after getting the band and losing lots of weight. I had promised my husband that after the band and a tummy tuck I would stop. I have been watching a girl on utube, she's called massagegoddess, she has done a video dairy of her journey,,,gastric band and tummy tuck, but she seems to have a lot of loose skin round her back under her arms. This has made me look more closely at myself...I think I'll also need my arms & boobs done! The massagegoddess has not had any kids, but I have, I've had six, my boobs are 4 times the size they were when I got married, at the moment I am happy with them and wouldn't change them but I expect after losing 80lbs they might end up in sacks down to my waist! Take care Fatpants
  22. I love your name Fab by 50, that's me, I am determined not to be fat at 50, I want to be a yummy mummy by 50, my youngest kids will be 10 when I turn 50, I don't want to be fat and lethargic, I want to be slim and full of energy! Lets go for it! Fatpants
  23. Dear Munger, I am sorry to hear that you have had to postpone your surgery - but just look on the bright side - no more of the treaded curse!!!! I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago, it's a strange feeling having this operation done, but my womb was well used, if not over used! 6 children and 3 misscariages, I have not looked back, it is such a relief not having to go through that monthly cycle! I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery, try and have a vaginal hysterectomy, I did and not only is it one less scar on your body, but the recovery time is much faster. What us women have to go through, men don't realise, they've got it made! You take care of yourself Fatpants

Hi Sammy, Have a great trip, make sure your hubby takes over all the caring duties, it'll be good bonding time for him, and banding time for you! I know what you're saying about all the stuff you need for wee ones, just think....it's great once you get over that age - suddenly the car will seem quite big! You take care now. Fatpants
  25. Wow, you are 2lbs below your target! How do you feel to have achieved this? My worry is that after losing the weight it'll cause lots of lose skin. The reason I am having the band is to help me lose weight so as that I can have a tummy tuck, but I've started thinking I'll need a boob job, my bingo wings, and god knows what else!!!!! Take Care and well done in your success! Fatpants
