Oh my! I'm so sorry to hear that! What a decision to make. Just research and think long and hard. At least you have a little bit of time to think.

Had surgery on a Thursday and was back to my desk job on Monday morning. Slow moving, but it wasn't major surgery so no biggie.

It's going to be whatever you just ate. -
If You Have To Vomit, Do You Lose Your Calories?

I concur with marfar7. I got so sick too often that I developed severe gastritis, some sort of gastrointestinal infection with off the chart white blood cell counts, had the most awful bout with reflux and finally had to have a full cc of fluid drained so that I could have some relief. Being so sick during the Christmas holidays, I lost 10 lbs within a 2 week period and it wasn't a if I'm a newbie. I was banded 4 years ago. I'm finally healed from that episode and am so very anxious to see my dr in 2 weeks for a full. Unfortunately, I've gained about 15 lbs since then due to a pretty lax restriction. Take your time eating, chew thoroughly and don't even think about what happens if you throw up. Trust me you don't want to go there. -
I was a shopaholic at Coldwater Creek. Even had tags still on a bunch of suits I had never worn. I let my Grandmother, Aunt and cousin have a first go at them all and then made sure there was someone in my Grandparent's church who could utilize them.

Very Worried I May Have Something Wrong
pnsbamafan replied to Debbie Logie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You have to chew your food so fine so that you won't feel this "stuck" feeling. It happens to me from time to time to. Chew chew chew and you'll be fine. -
Those sound good, but it is nice to have a variety to choose from.

I too remember that feeling. So excited for you! The best advise I can give a newbie is to do exactly what your dr tells you to do, eat the foods they tell you to and do not deviate from that plan. I made the mistake in falling back on those foods that got me to where I needed intervention simply because they didn't make me sick (milkshakes, cream of anything soups, ect). Had I ate what I was told to and the exact amounts I was told to I would have already reached my weight loss goal and would not have had such a struggle over the past 4 years. It's a constant battle for everyone I'm sure. With the proper support and guidance, you'll do just fine!

I travel often and always come prepared with my food because i am so picky about what i want and what i can eat. I love Campbell's Soup at Hand, protein bars, protein shakes, bananas, Just for One veggies by Green Giant, yogurt and rhe list goes on. I also just bought a couple of Complete Meals (8 oz serving of various meals like Chicken Alfredo or Turkey and dressing).

Moved To Area And Need Doctor For Fills
pnsbamafan replied to Jess_R's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
He's one that wouldn't see me because he wasn't my surgeon. They're all so afraid of the liability they won't touch you! My pcp did refer me to Angela Cain, a new bariatric that just joined their group. She's seeing me next month. She's not a surgeon, but I hope she's up to par on fills. That will be wonderful! -
Looking For Support In The Tallahassee Area.

Hi Debora! 37 here, single, no kids and was banded on 7-31-08. I have lost 70 lbs and want to lose 30 more, but multiple spinal surgeries keep getting in my way. I've been going to the gym with a friend and look forward to working out now. Pretty much stuck with treadmill and stationary bike, but some movement is better than no movement. Do you workout? Feel free to email @ pnsbamafan@yahoo.com if you'd like. Happy you're here in Tally! Bridgette -
Any takers?

You are not alone I promise! Dig down deep within and find the strength you know you have and get it done! I'm finally getting serious again and sticking with my weight watchers plan and regular exercise. The comb works! It's easy to get off track, but just as you had the power to decide to become a bandster, you have the power to make it to your goal. One pound at a time!

Nausea After Yogurt
pnsbamafan replied to blpchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It could just be the initial shock of having to re-introduce your body to these foods. Could be the dairy too. You're still pretty fresh from surgery. Take your time eating and don't rush anything. Hope you feel better soon. -

Post-Op: What You Wish You Knew Prior To Getting The Lap Band

Huge lump? Are you sure it's not just swollen still? -
I hear you! This one definitely requires patience. Hang in there kid. It'll be over soon.

I know it's miserable, but it can sometimes take a week for that as to make its way out. As you said, it is starting to move now so you should continue to feel it moving further and further down. My heart breaks for anyone in pain, but you just keep doing what you're doing and I promise you you will be screaming "free at last!! Free at last!!".

I hope you get some relief soon. Keep walking and it'll work itself out soon I'm sure.

How Often Do You Eat Socially Now?
pnsbamafan replied to daisychains7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good point. I'm completely comfortable now in front of other people. Maybe it's a chick thing, or maybe just me, but the self conscious aspect is a demon I continue to struggle with.
