Hello, everyone!! I need help! I had my surgery February of 2014. I originally lost 70 lbs! But now I've gained 20!!!!!!! It's been over the course of about 8 months, but I don't like where this is going!! I've been working out a lot, but I keep gaining!! I had a metabolic test done a lifetime fitness, and they said that I burn around 2150 calories just resting, and with activity, add 900 calories to that. My food choices aren't great, but I'm pretty sure there's a deficit! I don't get it!!! I'm getting very frustrated and discouraged!!! Please help meeeeee!!!!!!

Thanks, guys! I totally agree that those machines can be wrong, especially the treadmill count. But I'm not going off of what the treadmill says. I'm basing it off of my heart rate monitor, which is specifically tailored to me. And the tests done at lifetime are extremely scientific and also specifically tailored to me. The whole thing took two hours! Do you think it could still be off? I mean, right now, I'm working out harder than I ever have, and I have a personal trainer who is really good! They have a scale there that measures everything in your body. The percentage of body fat hovers at around 50%. Sometimes it's 48 or 49. I mean, in retrospect, I used to be 260, and now I'm 210, so I can't complain about that! And my diabetes is gone!! I'm absolutely thrilled about that!!!! ???? I guess I can't complain about that, but I want to get back in onederland!! Hahahahahaha! My autocorrect just changed that to obese eland!!!! ????

I went to England 5 weeks out! The day after I left, I started the solids stage, though, so it was a bit easier. Are you allowed protein shakes? Those definitely saved me at breakfast time! And I pretty much lived on eggs and cottage cheese during that stage! I'm not sure if this was helpful or not! Have fun and good luck!!! -
Where's the restart button?! Please help! :)

Hello, friends!! Does anyone else feel like they would like to get back on track? If so, let me know! I had my surgery on February 20th and have officially lost 50 pounds, plus the 20 pre-op. Right now I'm 195 (I creeped back up slightly during Christmas, but only by 3 or 4!!! ) and I would like to possibly be at the very least 185 or 180 by my appointment at the end of January. Preferably more. Is this possible/healthy/realistic? The only exercise I'm getting is weekly horseback riding (yes, it is a sport!), in which I burn about 700 to 800 calories, and the occasional bike ride. I feel like I'm falling back into old habits, which really scares me. I need to get back on track!! Please help!!! -
So, I have a VERY inappropriate boss that likes to get up in my personal space. I really should report her. I will eventually...maybe.... Anyway. It was my first day back to work today, and as I suspected, she came and talked with me. The very first words out of her mouth were, "Well, let's see!!" Me: Not sure if she was talking about my scars or my weight loss. Hello, woman!!! I didn't get liposuction!!! Hahaha! Then she started talking about future diets and how hard it's gonna be (like she really knows! She's a beanpole!). She said, "You're gonna have to work really, really hard! It's not going to be a magic fix!" Me: Hahahaha!!! Sorry for the memes. They've just been in my head today. I just think it's funny! I used to get upset by her comments, but now I'm just like, "Oooh! What are you going to say today!" Am I alone in this, or do any of you have inappropriate bosses?

Inappropriate Boss...ugh!

I'm not sure if any of you are still subscribed to this post, but today she compared me to a starving child in Africa because of my large eyes and sallow cheeks........... Oh yeah! That's me! Hahaha! Next time she says something, I should be like, oh yeah? Well you look like Yzma! The reference would totally be lost on her though! Hahaha! As an update, though, I did finally tell her boss! She hasn't brought it up with her, but I think I'm okay with that! It was just relieving to tell her! Thanks for listening, guys! -
Dude...I'm about to start my cycle, and I majorly craving cookie dough!! Help!!! I'm at 3 months and have lost 42 pounds, 60 pre-op, and I feel like I'm falling into old habits again. What can I do?! PS, here's my 2 month before and after! :-D

Thanks for the great ideas, guys! I feel like when I'm on my period, all bets are off! Hahaha! -
Hey guys! I know this is probably TMI, but I haven't pooped in like 5 days. My doc said to drink milk of magnesia, but I'm not sure if I could stomach it. Is it safe to take something like dulcolax? I'm kinda miserable...any tips would be nice! I'm about 2 months out.

Dude...I feel like crap!!! My cramps are soooooo bad!!!! I miss ibuprofen so much!! My doc said to wait 6 months because it causes stomach issues. But seriously, Tylenol doesn't do anything!!!!!!!! I need something that will really work! Any tips/tricks/home remedies that would help with the cramps (besides a heating pad!)? I don't know what to do.

So far on my trip, I've been able to deal with the food. I've been ordering from the kids menu, so that's good. But they don't have any take home boxes! I had some fish to take back to my room, and they made me sign something saying that I won't sue them for deteriorating quality of food. What??!!

Guys! I'm so excited!! I had my first NSV yesterday! I was sitting in a meeting with my boss, and I crossed my legs at the knee!! I didn't even realize I was doing it. Hahaha! And I love how people are starting to notice at work!!

Hello, everyone! So I'm a week and a half post op. I'm going to church tomorrow, and I want to take the sacrament. Any chance of doing this, or should I wait a few? I know it's understandable if I don't take it, but I hate going without it! I mean, we're talking a tiny piece of bread! Thanks, everyone!

Update time! So I took the sacrament today!! It was just a tiny piece of slightly dry bread, and I just let it melt. It went down so easily, and I'm so glad!!! Hahaha! Yay!!! -
Hey! Tomorrow I will be one week post-op! I am getting my drain taken out (hooray!!!) but I'm afraid it's going to be painful. My doc said it's 'uncomfortable', but how uncomfortable are we talking about here? This is definitely my anxiety kicking in...

Does removing the drain = pain?

Sad!!! That sucks! It wasn't bad. My instinct was to put my hand close to it, so he had my mom hold my hands. He was like, "are you ready?" I said, stalling "....wait...how fast are we talking about here?" And he said, "Like one, two, three!" He was pulling it out as he was talking! It felt soooo weird!! I felt it a lot on my right side. Then it moved to the left..... Hahaha! It hurt a little bit but wasn't that bad! -

Awesome. Thanks guys!! I've been having major issues! I developed an infection from the vaccine they gave me at the hospital. I was running a fever, and my arm hurt worse than the actual surgery. Crazy! Also, I haven't been taking any pain meds because I'm allergic to codeine. Occasionally I have taken Tylenol for the fever, but I'm just trying to get through it. Hasn't been too bad! Hahaha! I seriously can't wait to get the drain out and be able to shower normally! Hahaha! Sorry if that's tmi! -

Hey! Have you used the capsules or the chewables? I would like to use the capsules, but I'm afraid they might be too big. Thanks!! -
Oh boy! I am kinda freaking out!!!! I'm sitting at the hospital right now, about to go back. Was anyone else crazy nervous?! P.S., my doc didn't tell me about the tube down my nose...not looking forward to that!!!

Ok guys, it's getting close! Who's doing this with me on February 19?

I'm on the 20th!!! Is anyone else as nervous as I am? -
Hello, everyone!! So I am scheduled for surgery February 20th! Yay!!! Six weeks later, my parents and I are going to England! I'm sure I'll get some raised eyebrows at this, but I'm going no matter what. My question is for those people in England. What do you suggest for Protein Shakes, soft foods, etc? We will be there for about 12 days. I will be just starting solid foods by that time, and I'm just wondering if there is anything I need to avoid. Also, I'm not anticipating any issues, but if there is a problem, where are the good doctors? We will mostly be in the Swindon, Bristol, Chepstow area. Then we are heading to London. Any advice, tips, or general motivational speeches would be most welcome!
