I know it's tough, I'm only getting in 40-45gr a day myself. I'm still on clears so my main focus per my surgeon is to stay hydrated right now. The Syntrax nectar Proteins are not thick, and can be mixed with just Water. I can't do shakes/smoothies or anything thick. I couldn't tolerate them before surgery so I'm not going to attempt them now. With the nectar mixes, I can get in my liquids and Protein. If you haven't tried them, you may want to order some samples and give them a try. I'm super picky and I'm glad that these are working for me. Just keep working at it, and try different things.

I ordered 2 of each as well. I didn't go for any of the sweets because I'm not a sweet type of person. I really want to try the cappucino in a cup of coffee. But, since coffee is a diuretic, I don't want to challenge my hydration levels. I'm only getting in 48-52oz a day, and I really need to bump it up, but it's been challenging. Also, I'm mixing mine with at least 16oz of Water to really dilute the mix. I actually mixed the cooler flavor today in 20oz. of water.

Hi Dano and welcome. . . Congrats on your success, and I can't wait to see your pictures.

3 out of 5 stars. It's good, but it has a hint of Protein powder taste. I just mix them with filtered tap Water, I don't blend, mix, shake. I made the mistake of trying to blend the half of the fuzzy navel, and it got foamy/frothy and I couldn't drink it. I had to let it sit for a couple of hours before I could finish it. The samples from vitalady.com are 1.5 scoops, 135 calories, and 34.5 grm Protein.

I'm having the nectar Caribbean Cooler flavor, and it is amazing. It's tastes like a Pina Colada. It mixed extremely well with Water, and goes down extremely smoothly. It is sweet, but is not super, sticky sweet. It has no Protein powder smell or taste either. I will probably order this one as my primary choice because it is the best thus far. This one gets 5 out of 5 stars from me.

I bought sample sizes, and I tried mixing in some Lemon Tea crystal light. I'm out of Splenda, but it's not that it's missing a sweetness. It's just a weird flavor. The flavor is Lemon Tea, and you can definitely taste the lemon. It left a film on the interior of the cup, and in my mouth. I ended up only drinking half of it. I just couldn't stomach anymore of it. I tried really hard to drink, but it was bad and I didn't want to risk getting nauseated.

I am a band to sleeve revision, so my situation is a little different, but I'll chime in with my opinion. I started the sleeve surgery with a BMI of 47. My surgeon believes that the sleeve is successful for patients who are volume eaters, and those who had success with a restrictive procedure only. I lost weight with the band initially, then gained once I started having complications. I've never heard of the bypass being reversible. I'm 23 days post-op and have lost 25lbs. The sleeve was my best option. Another surgeon that is a colleague to my surgeon talked to me right before surgery, and told me that he would of recommended a band to bypass revision. I told him, but you know nothing about me, my eating habits, my lifestyle, or my weight loss goals. He said well most people would want it that way, and I replied with there are plenty of people who do not want bypass, and I'm one of them. I didn't want to deal with malabsorption and the weight regain stats of the bypass are a cause for concern in my opinion.

Lemon Tea flavor is not that tasty. I can't put my finger on why it tastes weird, but I'm determined to drink it. It mixed well with Water, and is not gritty. I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone. I love iced tea, so I was hoping this would be a good fit for me. I'm just disappointed in the flavoring of this one.

That's an awesome NSV ! ! ! -
I was beginning to feel a bit blah, but the protein really helped tonight. I still haven't been hungry, and I'm trying my very best to get in as much liquid as I can. Right now, I'm working on my 3rd 16oz glass. I'm actually finding that plain water goes down best. I'm not having any signs of dehydration. So, I'm going to try to get in 32 additional ounces before I go to bed for the night. I'll probably be up until midnight, but I took a 2 hour nap this afternoon. John is doing well. We're halfway through this deployment, and I think the distance and time apart is finally starting to weigh on me. Maybe it's just because of everything that's transpired, but we talked about it. He reassured me that everything is going to be okay when he gets home. I'm growing rather bored sitting at home, but I'm also trying to take it really easy. I talked to the agency owner today. I told her that Dr. M doesn't want me to go back for at least a month. They need to hire someone, and I'm not upset about it. I'm actually quite relieved. I have no plans on going back. John is pretty insistent on me getting healthy, and recovering fully without the stress of going back to work. I hope everyone is doing well. Today is just one more day closer to the best husband in the world being home. 8 days until Caysen, the best son in the universe, comes home from Texas. Plus, my brother and best friend are bringing Caysen home, and staying for a week. I can't wait to see my family. . .

All my stuff came in today. I decided to try the Fuzzy Navel flavor first, and I must say that's not bad at all, and taste pretty good. I bet it would be good blended with a little ice for some texture, or a slushie type drink. I'm just not a fan of super cold stuff. Not gritty, it mixed well in 16oz of Water. It's not too sweet either. It doesn't have a "baby formula, Protein mix smell". 1.5 scoops 34.5 grams of protein 135 Calories

I came home yesterday, and I think I overdid it a bit. I just felt so free of all the tubes, and I was so worn out. I had a hard time getting in my liquid yesterday, and I have figured out if I am on the computer, I don't drink as much. I'll try to get on tonight. . .

LMAO ! ! ! I'm waiting on an order of Mederma from skinwest.com, and my bare minerals make-up from ebay. Our USPS is ridiculous here. . . I can't stand our carrier. But, hopefully, everything will get here this week sometime.:shocked4:

Congrats on getting your date, and welcome aboard. . . I look forward to following your progress! ! !

I went in and had the drains and line removed from my arm. No more TPN, and no more cumbersome drains . I am on clears for 2 weeks, and then I go back in to discuss transitioning into full liquids/mushies on July 9th. I can't believe how good it feels to not have all that crap attached to my body. My main goal is to stay hydrated. Dr. M isn't going to release me for work for at least a month. He said he just wants me to take it really easy. I can't vacuum, sweep or mop, but I can fold and put away laundry. Luckily, I have an amazing neighbor, who volunteered to come over and help me out with the housework. My younger brother, and best friend are heading out here on July 4th from Texas. They had this little vacation planned, and it worked out that they can bring Caysen home at the same time. 10 more days until they get here! ! ! Overall, it's been a great morning.

Nectar protein samples didn't come in today. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. . .

Welcome Linda! ! ! Congratulations on your surgery date, and I'll be looking for updates from you on your progress.
-
Hopefully, they'll be here tomorrow. I can't wait to try them. Once the TPN stops, I'm going to have to get Protein on my own. I'm hoping I can tolerate at 2-3 of the flavors I ordered.

I went back today for another leak test and follow-up appointment. NO LEAKS, and the surgeon says my new stomach looks good. I get to start clears. . . He decreased my TPN by half, and I go back on Wednesday. I have to keep the jp drains as a precaution until Wednesday. If all goes well, the TPN and line in my arm will be pulled, along with the jp drains will be pulled on Wednesday afternoon. I haven't felt this good in what seems like forever. I cried when he told me about my ct scan. It was just a huge relief. I already started sipping on Water with a Special K Protein packet mixed in. I get this little burpy feeling when I sip. I told the doctor that the contrast stuff made my tummy gurgle. He said it was normal because my stomach hasn't really had to work for 3 weeks. I'm taking it easy, sipping slowly, and just enjoying the liquid stage. As long as my drains stay clear, my temperature stays normal, and I don't have any abdominal pain, Wednesday is going to be a great day. Thank you all for your continued support, and prayers.

I know this isn't a Protein post, but I thought I would share my wonderful find today. Pre-op, I bought Celestial flavor tea sample pack. It's decaffeinated. I decided to venture out and try something warm today. The country peach flavor is wonderful. I didn't sweeten it with anything, and I have found that the warm liquid is going down much easier than room temperature/cool stuff. I have sensitive teeth so I don't like super cold drinks. Tomorrow, I'll try the other flavors and let y'all know what I think of them. The only flavor I won't try is the cherry. I can't stand cherry/grape flavored things. My protein samples still aren't here, but as soon as they are, I'll update with those reviews.
