Predigested Liquid Protein - Proteinex
Tiffykins replied to Bob_350lbs's topic in Food and Nutrition
I googled it, and it says it's made of hydrolyzed collagen Protein. It's the same protein source that is found in the protein bullets/shots which has some controversy of not being a "good" quality of protein. I'm with you on getting in my protein. So, I figured, some protein, even hydrolyzed collagen protein with some whey protein would be better than zero protein. That's why I started doing the bullets again. Here's the nutrition facts (it's a PDF file) http://www.llorenspharm.com/pdf/Proteinex.Lit.New.pdf -
Why I chose the Sleeve--better late than never!
Tiffykins replied to Vampyrvet's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you so much. I will definitely give him a huge hug. Thank you for your support. -
I am 3.5 months out, and have yet to have any true hunger pain/pangs. My stomach has never growled, and yes, I have to remind myself to eat. I actually have an alarm on my IPhone that goes off every 4 hours to remind me to eat. I don't burp unless I eat a little fast then I burp up a little, but zero acid reflux. I do take 1 Prilosec daily. I burp 100 times less than I did with the band.

Why I chose the Sleeve--better late than never!
Tiffykins replied to Vampyrvet's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Millie, part of your story sounded so close to mine. I am so elated for you getting your date, and agree that you will be so pleased with the sleeve. -
I'm sleeved and at home!

YAY YAY I am so glad to hear you are home and recovering. I'm happy everything went so well. Keep us all posted ! ! ! -
I went today, and bought the homecoming outfit for the airport pick of the husband. I'm ditching the bracelet, but I love the outfit, and it looks so much better in person. Ignore the shiny skin, it was humid here today, and ignore the poor picture quality. It's what I get for handing the camera to the 11 yr old kiddo. I down to a size 16 pant, and a large to XL top depending on the store. I can't wait for him to see me ! ! !

If mine and mine husband's taxes are going towards more "free" healthcare in this country, then NO. I don't think all the people deserve free healthcare, especially those who aren't working because their held up in their parent's basement, getting high, living off government assistance, popping babies out left and right deserve to have a decent policy. Which our taxes are already going to those people, but I don't want more going to more deadbeats. There could be more reform in our welfare, and government assistance programs in this country, and billions could be saved. BUT, because of the "sense of entitlement" that so many people have in this country, it'll never be done. I'm beyond grateful for our insurance made available to myself and my son because of the job my husband is doing. BUT, I don't think that every human being deserves to have free healthcare at the cost of every other American who works their a$$ off just to put food on the table. I don't want the government to have more control than they already have, in addition to that, think of the unemployment rates if national healthcare takes over, and all of the insurance reps, claims reps, salepersons, adjusters, and so forth lose their job. If I need a hip replacement, I want it as soon as possible, and I definitely don't want a government telling me I need to wait XX amount of time. I've heard horror stories about wait times in Europe and Canada. I have a friend who lives in Canada, and she constantly gripes about the healthcare system up there. I guess there are pros and cons to any system, but I am not going to idly sit by and blindly accept that this healthcare reform plan is good for us as a nation.

I look at my "before" pictures, and then at my stomach that is still out of proportion with the rest of my body. It doesn't always work, but it typically gets my hiney out of the recliner.

I just don't see it happening without raising taxes or increasing the deficit even more. I feel like my grandchildren lives have already been mortgaged with our national debt. I "want" to believe it's a great idea, but I honestly don't believe it will happen within a decent time frame. I know something needs to be done, but at what cost?

OK - help - hope I am not getting too excited here!!
Tiffykins replied to SuzKelly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My BMI was 45, and I had zero co-morbidities other than bad joints when I was initially approved for the band. I later revised to the sleeve after complications with the band. I would of been approved for the sleeve initially if I hadn't of gone with the band first. -
Thank you all so very much. . . We have about a week left, and I have most everything done from my list. I still have to get his new TV, and a few odds and ends around the house. But, for the most part, I've got everything done. This weekend, I'll go to the grocery store, mow the yard, and do a quick "sweep" of the house. My neighbor friend is going to go to the airport with me so she can take pictures for me. I'll make sure to post pictures after he gets in and settled.

Is it still poss to have complications 8 wks out?
Tiffykins replied to Bob_350lbs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon said "leaks are most likely to happen within the first 6 months." We just talked about this today, and since I just cleared the 3 month point. There was a lady on OH that had a leak at 7 months post-op, but she had symptoms that were ignored, or diagnosed as kidney infections, and other things before they thought to do a leak test. I don't remember her name, but she posted back at the beginning of August. -
15 days and counting in the hospital ????

I haven't ever heard of anything like that at all. I really hope you get good news soon. -
I love my Iphone. It rocks amazingly ! ! ! And, Hope, yes your font shows up tiny on my screen as well. I have mine set from the User CP option "EDIT OPTIONS" and my font size is set at 4.

I'm sorry I disappeared. A friend of mine is going through a really bad break up with her boyfriend who just returned from a deployment, and she needed to talk. I'm in the NW panhandle of Florida so I'm on CST. I usually pop in between 9-10pm CST, and leave the chat window open. I rarely go into the chat during the day because I never find anyone in there.

Thought I would throw it out there if anyone wanted to chat a bit tonight ! ! !

I was released to take NSAIDS around 10 weeks. My surgeon just advised to take them after a meal or with something in my stomach.

Not Sure Where To Put This

From the FAQ link at the top of the forum: It seems that mods have to be appointed by the administrators. I would have to assume an administrator would have to be appointed by the owner of the site. -
What annoys me more than anything is that Wasa is NO LONGER A MEMBER HERE. Quit bashing her, if you have that big of an issue with her, take it somewhere else because she doesn't post here anymore. It's done and over with for the love of everything holy. Daisy was simply saying that Wasa is simply happy with her choice in her surgeon just as you are. No one said you were her twin. It just seems like a witch hunt. Like I've said before, building an effin bridge and get the heck over it.

Grits are mushed up hominy and usually eaten like a hot Cereal similar to how oatmeal or cream of wheat is eaten. I think grits are quite disgusting. I've never heard anything negative about food from the UK.
