    come into the chat room!

I don't want to commit to something that I may not be able to always attend. But, I'll definitely do my best to make it in more often. The biggest issue right now is that John is trying to get adjusted to the time change, and sleeping habits are out of whack. But, I'm in tonight for a bit.
  2. I'll throw this out there as well. The directions on my Prilosec 20mg, states to take it 1 hour before eating for the same reasons.
  3. I just wanted you to know that I've been thinking about you on and off today. I just know everything went wonderfully, and you'll be updating us soon. Can't wait to hear from you ! ! !

    July 2009

    I agree with Chancie ! ! !
  5. Donna, I'll be interested to know how they taste, the texture, and ever so importantly the smell. I've tried yet another 3 types of Protein powders, and took them all back to GNC. This time I went for soy protein, and was absolutely disgusted. . . I am now on my 20th brand and type. John used this one while he was overseas, and it's a whey protein. Fingers crossed this one works for me that we bought yesterday. The ladies at GNC are getting sick of me bringing crap back to them.

    come into the chat room!

Thought I'd hop in chat for a bit tonight. John crashed out early ! ! ! I won't be in late tonight. The roof guy is coming by at 8am.
  7. You'll do wonderful, just stay positive and breathe. I didn't have an endoscopy before surgery. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
  8. This has been weighing on my mind lately, and decided to break down, get out of bed, and post this question. Most (if not all of y'all know) my husband has been deployed for the last 6.5 months. He is on his way home YAY YAY. I have heard from a couple of girls who have had WLS that their entire body has "shrunk". Essentially, things downstairs got tighter/smaller especially after they got close to goal weight. So, you all see where I am going with this. I've lost 75lbs while he's been gone, and during the leak repair surgery they placed a foley catheter. Upon removal, I didn't want to worry about incontinence, so I started doing kegel exercises. Coupled with the weight loss, kegel exercises, and lack of sex for the last 6.5 months, I am so freaked out that my parts have changed, and sex isn't going to be enjoyable for either of us. I've always been a fan of kegel exercises and have done them since having my son back in 1998, but now my mind is reeling with the "what ifs". If you don't feel comfortable sharing your experience, feel free to send me a message on here. This could be just nerves freaking me out, but I can't get it out of my mind.

    A few pictures

I was able to edit the pictures to lighten them up a little bit. My friend "J" was able to snap a picture of his mouth dropped open when he first realized it was me, but a guy walked right in front of the camera and you can't see John at all. . . Here's a few pics of the night ! ! ! Us waiting for his arrival Caysen and his "welcome home" sign The First Embrace (my knees were knocking, I almost fell, luckily he was holding me up) John reaching for Caysen (me holding back tears) Truly the most magical night of my life, I can't believe he's home. It's just amazing, and very surreal. We're grilling out tonight, and will have our first family meal together again.

    NSV shout outs

Ohhhhhhh no no no ! ! ! Not yet, we're waiting until at least late April-Mayish before we even try. We wrap it up every time without fail. If it did happen, we would be elated, but we're not trying. Thank you to everyone. Chancie, I love your most recent NSV. Keep up the great work ! ! !

    Weekend Social Club

    1) Plans for the weekend - Tonight we had dinner and movie night in. Tomorrow, we're going to go pick up work out equipment for the garage. So we can start working out together. Sunday will be a day of rest and relaxation. 2) What's your favorite food and has this changed since you got surgery (assuming you are post-op)? Mexican food mainly fajitas and thankfully it hasn't changed except that I haven't tried to eat the tortillas. 3) What was the last movie you saw in the theater? Took Caysen to see "G FORCE" a few weeks ago. I'm hoping we are able to go see "Cloudy with a chance of meatball" soon. 4) How many states have you lived in?

    NSV shout outs

This is probably going to seem sooooooooo trivial to everyone else, but I had a great NSV last night. John and I have never been cuddly when we sleep. #1 I would get so hot that I couldn't stand having him right up on me #2 He's a tummy sleeper with his elbows spread out over the bed, I sleep on my side with a body pillow. Anyways, last night, he pulls me in super close to his chest, my back is touching his chest, and he wraps his arms around me, like completely around me (that's never happened before), and he nuzzled his head next to my neck and was asleep in a matter of minutes. I laid there just smiling like a goofy kid at a candy store, and I could feel his heart beating on my back. I laid there and actually felt his heart rate slow down as he began to drift off into a deep sleep. It felt so amazing to be that close, and not be hot and feel gross about myself. He had one arm under my head, wrap it up over me and the other arm wrapped around me the other side. I don't think I've ever realized how many "little" things we didn't do because of my weight. He then started snoring (which he never did before), and I had to move a little because he was right next to my ear. But for the first time in 3.5 years, I literally fell asleep in my love's arms.

    NSV - Closet Clean Out

I did the same thing at the first of September. It's a great feeling isn't it? ? ? I have 2/39 gallon lawn and leaf bags full of clothes that I plan on getting rid of. I have super nice clothes ranging in sizes 20/22 and 24 bottoms to 22 -26 tops that need to go. I plan on having a big yard sale because we are converting part of our garage to a work out/weight area so John and I can work out together ! ! !

    Lasagne

I have eaten a few bites of macaroni and cheese. I didn't experience anything negative from the pasta. I didn't have very much, and chewed the heck out of it. I used to live on macaroni and cheese with ranch style beans. So, I caved one day and made it. It took me forever to eat the tiny amount, but I didn't have any issues.

    Week 1 follow up results

Congrats on your follow up appointment. You're doing great, keep it up, and keep us posted ! ! !
  18. I took them together, and my surgeon also suggested I try some Tums if necessary. The Pepcid Complete worked so much better over the Tums.
  19. OUCHY, that's way too many carbs for my program, I would only be able to have 8oz because if I had the entire bottle, that's 116 grams of carbs. I don't consume more than 30 carbs per day. There's some articles on here posted that suggest consuming too many carbs can lead to extra "hunger". That's the main reason I avoid carbs.
  20. When I was prescribed Prilosec, it took about 10-14 days for it to kick in and truly work. During that time, for any break through acid issues, I took a Pepcid Complete. They are chewable, and worked great.

    ky.hen et all

Judy, I was thinking about you this morning when I realized the date ! ! ! I hope you are doing wonderfully. . . There's quite a few VST'ers down there this week. Hopefully, we'll hear something soon.

Super personal BUT I have to know. . .

Ha ha ha, he had to report on base today at 1pm, so I have a bit of time to myself. I asked him if "it" was different, he said yes, but not too much of a difference that made anything uncomfortable. Least to say, we get to bed until after 2:45am. Everything was amazing. I noticed there was a lot more room in between us. We could get closer, I didn't get tired. I'm still a little self conscious, but that is to be expected. Overall, our night together was amazing, Earth moving, I never imagined being together would feel so great ! ! !

    Amazing news ! ! !

Homecoming was amazing. He was walking towards the right side of the exit with a group of other guys. We were standing to the left, and I walked up closer to them, he looked right at me, and looked away. I stomped my feet, and he did a double take, and his mouth dropped. He ran to me, scooped me in his arms, and said " you look so amazing ". It was purely magical. Unfortunately, the airport was dimly lit, and none of the pictures came out worth a damn. We embraced for what seemed like forever, and then Caysen moved in for his moment. It was precious, but I didn't cry. The higher ups showed up, and checked in their weapons and we headed home. Once we were in the truck, Caysen said the most tear jerking thing, he said " you know what Dad, I never knew it could feel so good to see someone." I almost cried again, but I felt so full of joy that I couldn't cry. We got home unloaded everything. He played with the dog, then it was "us" time. It was absolutely amazing. We literally fell right back into place with everything. It all felt amazing, emotionally and physically. He has bulked up, but I love it. He was so happy with my results, and he couldn't believe how I looked. He had to report in this afternoon at 1pm to turn in the issued gear, and hopefully he won't be gone long. We're cooking out on the grill tonight, and going to have a great time. He is so happy to finally be home. Life is somewhat back to normal. I never thought I would happy to see uniforms laying around again. But, it's such a huge relief.
  24. I'm just a bobcat ! ! ! My husband is 6 years my junior, and it's awesome. . .
