    Binging prior to surgey

I go to Overeaters Annonymous meetings and at the last one, someone was talking about "the last supper" mentality. It's so true. I've even been doing it and I'm nowhere close to getting the surgery yet! Then I feel guilty and slightly sick. I've eaten so much sugar lately, I've been giving myself headaches because I'd previously cut it almost completely out. I know I'm just scared. I'm out of my comfort zone and in panic mode.
  2. Hi, everyone! I'm new here, though I've lurked from time to time during my information searches. I've thought about WLS for many years, but have always opted to continue struggling along on my own, because gastic bypass seemed too drastic and I wasn't totally comfortable with the idea of lap band. Recently I've had reason to reconsider my options and I've been doing a lot of research. That led me to the gastric sleeve. I'd never heard of it before! The more I research it, the more it seems to be exactly what I've been looking for. I have a meeting scheduled for the 13th and I'm very excited to find out as much as I possibly can. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and let you know I'll be sticking around and sharing my journey along with the rest of you. Wish me luck!
  3. Hi, all! I haven't been banded yet; I just want to say that right off the bat. I went to one of the lap band information meetings a few years ago but at the time I didn't have the right insurance or the credit history to get financed (I had never even had my own credit card before ). Now, I'm in exactly the right place and it seems I may even get approved , but I have to admit that I have a small anxiety problem. So, of all the things I could pick to be anxious about, what do I choose? The fact that there will be a foreign object inside me and I might be able to feel it! So, (though, it may seem ridiculous) here's my question: Can you feel your port and if you can, how in the world can you avoid thinking about it and poking at it?

Scared little (okay, not so little) newbie.

Ah, good to know! Thanks! I'm due to go to another meeting on Feb. 10th. I can't wait to find out more. I have to say, Kiz, I love the quote you have at the bottom of your post. It really reminds me that I shouldn't let myself worry so much over the silly little things.
