This is sooooo common. It's the thing I've been yelling about since surgery, but there are very few newbies who want to listen to this. Obesity is a disease. It has many factors. And some of those factors include our own relationships/behaviors with food. It's not just the substance--meaning it's not just "what" we eat, but it's also "when" we eat, "why" we eat, and even more-- "HOW" we eat. Then there is the metabolic derangement that goes along with things that creates obesity.
The surgery is just a tool to jack our hormones and tummy capacity for a short window of time, and can help us lose weight quickly, and in the process it hopefully allows us time to gain new skills, develop new behaviors and relationships with food. But the further out you go, the less and less protection it offers. Our tools "mature." Few stretch--minority of the time--most just simply mature to an increased capacity. The doctors expect that. But many do not warn us. So we end up over eating, not learning our lessons up front, or just being human. And we regain. And we feel like we fail WLS.
The beatings will never make morale improve. ((hugs)).
Make a list of 3 things today that you need to accomplish and CAN accomplish. Make them actionable. Make them attainable:
    1. Hygiene: Shower, do your hair, put make-up on, and get dressed in fresh clothes.
    2. Plan your meals for the day (protein first 3-4oz + steamed veggies (al dente) + avocado/tomato salad (1oz each). Stick to that plan. (Don't forget Protein first and no drinking Water with your meal or 1 hour after) - weigh your food
    3. Walk 5 - 10 minutes x 3 times today.

Check them off your list. Go back to basics. 1 cup of food per meal. 3 meals per day and 1-2 tiny Snacks if you can't eat only the 3 meals. The snacks need to be BORING! The snacks need to be <100cals, <5g carbs and healthy (i.e. hb egg, 2oz turkey lunch meat, or veggies with Grk yogurt ranch dip).
Go to bed and sleep 8 hours in a completely dark, cool room.

You can do this. Do it one day at a time. Join a local WLS support group. Go back to your RD. Get a referral to a counselor!!! Do it!!! It's not too late.

How are the Feb sleepers doing? I’m down almost 50 pounds and creeping into the “normal” BMI range. What are your favorite meals ?

I’m not allergic to artificial sweeteners, but they give me side effects such as nausea and headaches.
That being said, the first 2 weeks of liquid diet almost killed me due to EVERYTHING being artificially flavored.
I gagged down half a Protein Shake a day until I gave up and just started drinking fairlife milk.

Right when I was cleared for soft foods, I kicked Protein Shakes to the curb and haven’t looked back once.

So what you can probably expect is to not hit your Protein goals until you can eat enough real food to get your protein.
I know some people get all worked up about not hitting daily protein goals, but those are usually people who can turn to a shake of they need to.

So far, I’ve lost 47 pounds since 2-6-19 and probably didn’t hit a single protein goal for my first month. I never had any issues with energy levels and I started working out pretty regularly at 4 weeks post-op.

Make dairy protein your best friend (milk, cottage cheese, eggs, soft cheeses,etc..) and you’ll be much happier.

I weight 292 one morning and then gained back to 296. I stayed there for almost 4 weeks. Then it took me a month but I've finally got to 286 which is 52 pounds lost in 11 weeks (today). I was convinced I would never lose another pound, but I just think I lost so much so fast that my body needed to catch up.
I bet you will start losing again, but for some of us, it takes awhile.
    Good luck!

in October of 2012 I went to my primary care doctor and discuss the possibility of weight loss surgery with him. He agreed that it was a good option for me. So he referred me to a weight loss surgeon in North Carolina, it all seemed very fast tracked by November 12th I was having my gastric bypass surgery. I started my own weight loss journey before surgery in January of 2010. My starting weight was 305 I got myself down to 210 and then gained 40 back that was when I decided on surgery to help me .. Fast forward to now..... My weight on November 12 2012 (surgery day) was 250 lb today I'm at 150 lbs. I got as low as 135 but have gained some of it back. ( Which I will take back off) here are me at my heaviest and now!

I thought a once read that over 40 BMI is morbidly obese and over 50 is super morbidly obese. ?
I started just over 50 and am not sure I will make it to a normal bmi. My Dr said about 180 and I'm 286. I undoubtedly will have lots of hanging skin.
    Thank you all!

    Google is your friend! 😉
    from: https://www.cdc.gov/obesity/adult/defining.html
    Adult Body Mass Index (BMI)
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a person’s weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters. A high BMI can be an indicator of high body fatness.
To calculate BMI, see the Adult BMI Calculator or determine BMI by finding your height and weight in this BMI Index ChartExternal.
If your BMI is less than 18.5, it falls within the underweight range. If your BMI is 18.5 to <25, it falls within the normal. If your BMI is 25.0 to <30, it falls within the overweight range. If your BMI is 30.0 or higher, it falls within the obese range. Obesity is frequently subdivided into categories:
Class 1: BMI of 30 to < 35 Class 2: BMI of 35 to < 40 Class 3: BMI of 40 or higher. Class 3 obesity is sometimes categorized as “extreme” or “severe” obesity.

OMG! I'm so happy I could dance down the street naked! I FINALLY made it to Onederland today, 5 months post-op sleeve.
I've been stuck in a stall for five weeks, teasing me at 202 and so close but so stuck and I thought I was never going to lose another ounce for a minute or two.
But now I'm finally a LOSER! Yay! So excited! Now I feel like the scale will keep moving and it can go down to meet my goal.
So glad to be in the 100's again!
