I'm so worried. Going out for the first time in a couple hours with family. I can not eat a lot, so I'm worried how I will do. Any suggestions? We as re going to Apple Bees and I'm goin to check the menu in just a few minutes. Not sure if I should just ask to share with someone, like my husband or daughter? Q

I've had a tough go of recovery (nothing like you) & I was second guessing my decision to have the sleeve. I'm slowly getting better every day and am feeling even though it's been tough, I don't regret it. I was only getting bigger & bigger. I'm sure you and I will come to think this is the best thing we have done. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Best wishes!

10 days ago I weighed 3 pounds less. I had to raise my weight on my stats. I'm one pound less today, but I'm not sure how that can be, un literally not eating that much. Maybe 800 calories.

Going out to eat fir the first time
gabybab replied to gabybab's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So, I ordered the chicken and shrimp. I ate about 6 small shrimp, 1 small bite of chicken and a few bites of onion and mushroom. My sleeve is very tight right now and I'm lucky to get 1/3 cup in. I felt a little uneasy. Everyone was enjoying appetizers and drinks. In time after weightloss, maybe I will take in more. It was yummy anyways. -

Thanks for all the ideas. I think I'm going to the add on grilled shrimp skewer. It comes with 5 shrimp. I totally eyed the salmon, but we went to Costco today and are having family over, so I bought the fresh salmon. I will let you know how it goes. 🤗 -

gabybab replied to Feelinghopefulnow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After you get out they pepcid complete, it has a numbing agent. You can take 2 a day, but it doesn't last forever, but should give you some relief. Best wishes! -

I'm not sure if you have had post labs, but it might explain further your fatigue. I went to the Dr because I was so fatigued and they gave me a b12 shot and I was 100% better by the second day. I worked for 6 hours doing yardwork and planting. Mayne it was a placebo effect, but I don't think so. I'm going next week and am inquiring about it again. Good luck!

HELP: Gaining Weight After Only 6 months from MGB

This is why I plan to get a scale. I hope you can figure it out and get it turned around and start losing again! -
Can anyone give me a sample day of full food diet for gastric sleeve. Eventually I'm supposed to go to 1 cup for 3x a day, but I can't eat that much. Should I be eating 6 small meals till then? Also, I don't do shakes and can't find a protein bar I like. My taste has changed drastically and everything is too sweet. Thank you!

I looked my diet up. I'm on full diet for the past 9 days and can not eat 1 cup like it says to do, so I need to eat more frequent meals till then. I can not stonoth any protein shakes, it literally makes me gag. I think my best bet is to get a scale and do protein first till I reach 80 grams like my nutritionist has said. Can I ask what app you use? Do you use the measure method or weigh your food? I definitely thi I I should do one if the other, as it will keep me from eye balling and over eating. I weight a little more today than I did a week ago. I'm stumped because I certainly am not over eating. The only thing I can think is I was dehydrated and seem to be getting enough fluid now. I am probably getting 1/2 cup or so. Yesterday I ate 5 shrnipnand 2 pieces of slushie and I thought I was going to die. Thanks for posting this & I know it takes time out of your day so I really appreciate it.

I get them after I eat and they are obnoxious. I'm not sure how to get rid of them. Interested to see what people say.

Today was my farewell to food! Surgery date set.
gabybab replied to killerqueen86's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know the feeling. I was scared too. I could eat this whole meal easily in one sitting. Today that would be 5 meals. No kidding. But, you will be so full and eventually you get used to it. Congrats on your upcoming surgery! -
Hiatal Hell! Anyone experience pain when drinking???
gabybab replied to Erica_B's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 5 weeks post-op and had a hiatal hernia repair. I had the same pain. Incan now drink normally and can even chug a bit. No more pain! -
9 days post-op yogurt and peanut butter???
gabybab replied to iliana00000's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I had a similar problem. I couldn't stomach any protein shakes. I ate high protein yogurt and drank fairlife milk. I divided the milk into 4oz portions. I also drank Campbell's chicken noodle soup broth only. It filled my insides and made me feel better. Good luck! -
Week after surgery and I'm struggling
gabybab replied to Bonines's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My nutritionist told me the chocolate fairlife is a good protein source. 12 oz is 19g and qualifies for my program. It has to have 20g and under 200 calories, which it is 190. However, I prefer to drink it plain. I have never liked sweet beverages, weird I know. I prefer to eat my calories lol -
Surgery sleeve: cw is all over the place, but was 292. I was not able to get enough fluid in, but am reaching a normal amount now. I weighed 292.4 the other day, but today this morning weighed 295😢 I'm very nervous I'm not going to lose more weight, I'm not sure why because I really can't eat that much, but there is a grazing factor, so I'm being conscious of this. I'd like to lose to 280 this month and try to do some walking with my dog this month. Thank you for this challenge!

Did anyone stop taking their medications early? I stoped all of mine...
gabybab replied to Alikiinz's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I take 40 in the am and night. I couldn't take it for 13 days after surgery and I'm trying to be consistent in taking it faithfully on an empty stomach. Still have some gurgling in my tummy. -
Week after surgery and I'm struggling
gabybab replied to Bonines's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I can't stomach whey protein. The smell is off putting and I gag taking a drink. I've been short on protein, but am making my goals now that I'm 5 weeks post-op. I used high protein yogurt and fairlife milk to get closer to my goals. They have chocolate, but it's not my thing. I ate a lot of bean dishes, you can puree them. Good luck, you will get there! -
I can tell you requirements for Medicare. 5 nutrition appointments over 4 months. Your first one then 4 more. So 4 months. Psychological exam, endoscopy, lab work and a letter from your primary care agreeing to bariatric surgery for you. Best of luck!
