    Pro care vitamins

Hi! I'm 2 months post-op and take bariatric multivitamins. is anyone familiar with these vitamins? Do I need to supplement with vitamin D or calcium. I kind of thi k yes on the calcium as I dont see any in the list, however it says vitamin D. I've taken the vitamin D before, but it said D3. Thank you!

Do you like the calcium? I suppose I'm probably deficient by now.

    February 2019 weight loss buds

You are doing fabulous. Congrats! I am type 2. However, my blood sugar is normalizing. I'm on nothing during the day and 8-20 units of Lantus at night. My fasting bs and evening one is averaging about 140. The endo said not to take glimeperide if the sugars are under 180. I'm hoping to come off all meds sooner or later.

    I Hate waiting !!!!

I called my insurance. It was submitted and approved the same day. Personally I would call.

    Recently sleeved

It's normal. I ate nothing till 15th day.
  6. I've been diabetic for almost 15 years. I had my surgery 2 months ago today. Before surgery I was on metformin 2x day 1000mg. Glimeperide 2x 4g and 72 units Lantus at night. I've lost 45 pounds. After surgery my sugars were over 200 and sometimes 300. I was told not to take medicine, but went back on metformin and had terrible diarrhea, so I had to discontinue it because I wasn't getting enough fluids in. Today I only take glimeperide if my morning or dinnertime bs is over 180. In the last month I have only had to take it once. I was taking between 8-20 units of Lamtus, but now think I can come off that too. My bs has been under 145 each morning without anything. I hope that my numbers will continue to lower as I lose more weight. Good luck!

    Outpatient sleeve

I can't imagine being discharged outpatient. I was in a world of hurt and they need to monitor your liquids.
  10. Lol. I know, but before I knew it I was out. I'm sure they see a lot! I was bruised on my arms. I bet I was hard to move lol
  11. I'm telling you it was a chore using that soap and it was sticky! Lol I felt it unnecessary, but I just did it anyway. Best wishes on your upcoming surgery! How exciting!

    Outpatient sleeve

I've honestly not heard of outpatient. I think it's pretty typical to stay one night. Where are you having surgery?
  13. Please don't shave. I'm sure it's in your best interest. I dont think they care what you look like. I must have looked crazy all sprawled out under anesthesia. lol
  14. Also, I had to shower with an antiseptic soap the night before and the morning of surgery and on top of that they made me use these wipes on my entire body. Talk about taking precautions!
  15. Yes, but only 2 days before. No shaving anywhere. Lol

    Pre-Op Diet Adherence

My pre-op was 2 shakes 2 protein bars and one small meal. I lost 16 lbs that week and we ate at Applebees. I just ate small amounts. Good luck!
  17. I was told my sleeve would eventually hold one cup and I should eat 3 meals with no snacks. Today for lunch I ate 6 medium shrimp and I was stuffed to the max.

    SLEEVE regret

I dealt with stomach pain before and am dealing with it now. Been on 6 weeks of protonix faithfully and no change. I have 3 more weeks to see a change and if not I'm going to do an endoscopy. I'm not sure if I regret the sleeve or not. Also, I have only lost 2 pounds this month and am only 2 months out. I have however lost 45 pounds. I'm not sure if I would do a revision or not. Maybe if it was the shortest bypass allowable. Not sure if that would help me or not?

    Carafate question

I had an endoscopy. They found gastritis.

    Carafate question

I took sucralfate (generic) and they were huge. I was told I could dissolve it in a little warm water and drink it. I took it on an empty stomach and was told to wait one half hour before eating.
  21. I was cleared for full foods staring of week 5. Every surgeon is different.

    Pain Management Post Op.

That's terrible! This surgery was more painful than my 2 C-sections and my 3 other abdominal surgeries. I'm not sure where you are, but I was given plenty of pain medication.

    8 WEEKS post OP.

Great job! I struggle with fluid as well. I get about 36 oz. Less than the 48 I was told to get. It's such a chore to eat and get fluid!

    Emotional

I'm not much help, but I took cymbalta for several years and it's a real pain in the butt to come off. You have my sympathy. Hope You figure out your next steps. Best of luck!

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Hi everyone. Yesterday marked 8 weeks post-op. I'm doing ok and have lost about 44 lbs. However, I have only lost about 2.5 of that in almost 28 days. I went to the PA last Friday and she said I was where they want me to be. She wants me to exercise and I have not since surgery, other than walking shopping etc. I'm eating more and am doing about 1000 calories. I asked the PA and she said, yes, that's where you should be. I'm so worried because I don't want to fail, but 800, like some do, is not enough for me. I eat protein like I'm supposed to do. I have nibbled a bit, but nothing scary. Is anyone else where I am? Do I need to cut calories? I can't figure put why I'm not losing more. Also, anyone with diabetes still having to take medication? I'm averaging about 145 in the morning while taking 8-20 units of insulin only. My endo told me to skip meds if I'm 180 or under for dinner and breakfast. So far I've only had to take glimeperide one time this week. Hoping it will continue to drop. After surgery it was over 200 for the first month. Thanks all!
