I have a "would you rather' question
gabybab replied to jasmineinmymind's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I can eat and tolerate most things. I've only felt sick a couple times, however I have restriction so I can't eat that much. With that being said, I do think I could potentially graze and possibly that would impede my weight loss. It's a balancing act and I still have to work at it. Good luck to you! -
Omg you look fabulous! Congrats! You inspire me!

I'm not a revision, but have had 5 abdominal surgeries prior to the sleeve. I also, had a hiatal hernia repair as well. I had a fair amount of pain in my sternum area after surgery. Drinking water hurt for a few weeks until I healed. Today I can gulp quite a bit of water with no pain.

I have decided to have cake on bd's. I'm almost 3 months post-op and I've had cale 3 times. Very small pieces. My bd, my 2 grandkids' bd. I have lost almost 60 pounds. The next family bd is in July. I would say it's ok in moderation. As, now we are on a journey to health.

I think that's a great idea! I was edy sedentary before surgery. Now I walk once a day and am feeling great! Congrats on your upcoming surgery! -
ANYONE CHEAT ON THEIR PRE OP LIQUID DIET?
gabybab replied to CESILEYRAE's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I did a little, but I managed to lose 16 pounds in one week pre-op. My Dr never said if my liver was good or bad come to think of it. Try your hardest to not cheat. Good luck! It will all be ok! -

Dang you look good and fit! -
Having been over 300 lbs the last 10 years I've always been the heaviest in a room. Now that I'm 284 I'm closing in on not holding that title. I'm going to a function in the next 3 weeks and some have not seen me since I've lost 54 lbs. I'm hoping for 60 by then🤞 I really dont want the attention or people to ask me about it. I'm just not sure how to handle it without bring rude.

I take the pro-care and you can buy them on this site. They have all the rda needed after rny. Good luck!

My nutritionist just gave me a sample for sheet. I know when I'm full and have had to spit food out at least on occasion. I have never thrown up food. I have a terrible phobia of throwing up and will suppress that feeling. I get the terribly loud hiccups if I eat a bit too much. I find measuring a good thing.

Unfortunately this person knows, by someone else. I just don't want intrusive questions and to be made to feel that I took the "easy" way out. I was always thinner than this person and then gained weight. I feel like they were feeling superior to me. So, I'm just worried about an onslaught of questions. I did this for health, not vanity. Hopefully no one will bring it up.

I was going through this in my head. I'm going to redirect, because I already expect the questions. There is a lot of feelings that go along with this event. I just hope they don't keep asking as I expect.

Revision Lapband to RNY
gabybab replied to Lady B 925's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I needed help. I'm 54 and dont work, but I needed help to cook and clean. I paid my daughter to cook, clean and she got all my pills ready. I was in a lot of pain and on a lot of narcotics for 10 days. I think it's all individual depending on what responsibilities you have. My husband is like my kid and works very long hours. So, I've always cooked. I would say if you don't have small children you might be ok to take care of yourself. In the first week I couldnt eat, so I just needed to rest and walk a bit to prevent blood clots. Wishing you all the best on your upcoming surgery! -

Thank you for the great advice. I'm going to go and put stuff on my plate and nibble. It will make him happy & I too, need to let go of wasting food! -
You're only 4 weeks out and this normal. I'm almost 3 months, and not that far ahead of you. But, it does get better. I'm eating more and it's getting easier. I'm not much of a cook and buy a lot of prepared foods and go 2x a week. It will get easier and you will feel better and better. My best to you!

My son is a body builder and loves gasp better body clothing. Warning: it is on the expensive side. This is what he asks me for each BD and Chrsitmas. He sounds like a terrific guy!

February 2019 weight loss buds
gabybab replied to TheMarine79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My husband called me and said we're going to the new Golden Corral restaurant by our home. Just found out it is a buffet!! He said I can eat a piece of chicken of his plate. I said "no, you can't do that, it is a buffet." I told him to go with our daughter and family and he doesn't want to. Omg, he's very upset! He doesn't understand I'm not that girl anymore. -
Surgery TOMORROW! Is there anything I'm forgetting?
gabybab replied to KSan35's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Honestly I only brought myself, my phone and bi-pap. as soon as I was checked in they made me change, so my clothes were still clean. I wore flip flops, wide leg yoga pants, bra and t-shirt. I didn't wear the bra home due to an incision from hernia repair. Best of luck! -

I'm glad I had the sleeve. -
Is it normal at 10 mos out to be able to eat more?
gabybab replied to Kris77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My nutrition class says 1 cup 3x a day for sleeves. I prefer to eat 1/2 cup 3x a day to keep a lower bs, but once my diabetes is in remission I will go to 1 cup 3x a day.
