I haven't had trouble with any foods. I've eaten a lot of the mentioned foods, but in small quantities. I haven't ate bread, so not sure about that. I have not thrown up (terrified of getting sick) since surgery. I have tested the waters and can eat all foods, but in limited quantities. I'm worried my appetite is coming back.

February 2019 weight loss buds
gabybab replied to TheMarine79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had surgery on 2-25 as well and am down 62 lbs. I wear a 22, almost 20 in pants and a 3x in tops. I'm top heavy and am more upside down. Congrats on your weight loss! It feels good! -
I didn't cheat, but they put me on a diet with 1 meal since I'm diabetic. I'm pretty sure you will be ok. Follow it, like you said, to a t.

Initially they told me one month, but at my 2 week checkup my PA said I was ok to go to capsules. Check with your surgeon first.

*Tears* longest Plateau Ever..long vent
gabybab replied to bajankat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
In my second month after surgery I did not lose 1 pound for 20 days. I'm not going to lie, I was panic stricken. I've lost 19 pounds more since then. It will happen! -
What medical issues have you overcome since WLS?
gabybab replied to Jemma23's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've been diabetic for close to 15 years. I progressively gained weight and had to up my diabetic regimen. After surgery I was told to go off all my meds, but that didn't work. My bs was still very high for a month. I started taking metformin and glimeperide, but it caused diarrhea and I had to stop the metformin. I was on metformin 1000 x2, Glimeperide 4mg x2 and 72 units of Lantus at night. Now I check my bs and if my bs is over180 in the morning or night I take the glimeperide, but seldom need to. I'm on 20 units of Lantus at night still. I'm hoping to keep reducing the meds as I lose weight. I've lost 61 pounds so far. -
Susie, I'm over 3 months and get the rumbling with yogurt (although I live off yogurt) and also get the hiccups. They are both annoying and embarrassing. Glad it see it passes!

I have a low resting heart rate (low 50's) and gets into the 40's after surgery. They never have seemed concerned.

The first 2 weeks are the worst. I got really obsessed with looking at recipes and dreaming of food. Today at over 3 months out, the obsession has faded and I'm learning to slow down and enjoy the food I do eat. I eat mostly to plan, but indulge sometimes, albeit a small amount. Today i enjoyed fresh strawberries and blueberries, but not a lot. I can consume amounts that led to my obesity. Best of luck on your journey!

Eating beef or pork 2 mos post op - Heat
gabybab replied to renjenn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can't eat a lot of either. It makes me full so quickly. I'm guessing I ate about 2 oz 45 mins ago and it sits right at the top of my throat. Could it be caused by being hard to digest? -

Wow! You look amazing! -
Happy birthday! Looking good!

If I eat one bite too much I'm miserable. I'm over 3 months post-op and can eat 1 hard taco, but would never try more. My restriction is great!

I forgot to say my surgery was 2-25-19. I had the sleeve and have lost 60 pounds. My starting weight this month is 278 and my goal is to lose 8 pounds. I'm sidelined on exercise due to a small crack in my heel. Hopefully I will be able to walk tomorrow. love💕 all my surgery siblings!

That looks wonderful!

Medicare Denial Frustration
gabybab replied to Jonah's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in Washington and got approved no problem. I wonder why they came to that conclusion? Hopefully your Dr will help you appeal and be able to document more information they need. Best of luck! -
I'm here. I can not do some of these exercises, but can supplement them with something else. I just hit 60 lbs this morning and weigh 278. I hope to lose 10 pounds this month, but would be happy with half of that. Mow that I've lost a good bit I'm motivated to walk everyday. Before I would never go out and walk. I'm working myself up to have the courage to walk by myself. My mental healh today is fabulous! I feel so good! Today I will do 10,000 steps as I can't do a plank.

VITAMINS AFTER GASTRIC SLEEVE?????
gabybab replied to CESILEYRAE's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was told to take them day 8 on full liquids. If you are taking iron you need something in your stomach, it's very hard on an empty stomach. -
Fitbit or Samsung gear fit
gabybab replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love my Fitbit charge 3. It inspires me to take more steps each day. Before surgery I never walked. I now walk everyday with my daughter or sil. You can enter challenges, track your weight and I sync it with my fitness pal. This one is also waterproof as I do dishes and I can wear it in the shower. -
I have 6, but had a hernia repair. The extra one is up by my breastbone.

I had Aetna and they had an ironclad exclusion, so I never applied to be approved. I know firsthand how frustrating it is. I hope you win the appeal!

Protein bars a month and a half out?
gabybab replied to cutiepie34's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I never drank one protein drink post-op. I ate high protein yogurt and fairlife milk. I ate a few protein bars 3 weeks post-op and had no problems. I'm 3 months post-op and get all my protein from food. No shakes or protein bars. Good luck!!
