I use chewable made by nature made. They're pretty tasty.

I'm not sure that those milks have enough protein? Are you vegan?
-
I couldn't do shakes, so my second week consisted of high protein milk and yogurt. I used fairlife and YQ. I've seen a lot of people can't stomach it after surgery, so keep these in mind if you have problems. Good luck!

Am I getting enough calories
gabybab replied to Kara Duke's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This amount is very normal. Once your body heals and is able to accept more food you will be able to consume more. I'm almost 4 months out and getting in way more, (but I'm losing). I try to really watch what I eat. You will get there in time! It is hard in the first month. Good luck! -
February 2019 weight loss buds

Why do we expect so much weight loss? I see a lot of people that expect to lose it overnight, myself included. It's frustrating being the same weight. 96 pounds to go seems such a long journey. Good luck to everyone here, you all seem to be doing so well! Ps you look fabulous and young sheribear! -

That's a great idea! I have shoulder length hair, but usually wear mine long. I'm getting older (54) and finally decided a month after surgery to make a change. Wishing us luck on not losing too much hair😢 -
Last visit to the nutritionist today!

I had Medicare through UHC and was approved the same day! They didn't waste time. However, my Dr office was slow and I waited 2 months, 1 week to have my surgery. Good luck! -
As much as getting up and down is a pain in the butt, you should do it anyways. Also, I'm not sure who you are flying, but you can upgrade on Alaska Air for $50. I always make sure I get right on there 24 hours before boarding when you do your check in and it gives me the option. The extra leg room would be of benefit to extend your legs out and squeeze your calves. Try and get the front row as there is the most room. Congrats on your upcoming surgery!

I gained 4 pounds a month after surgery. It eventually came off plus a lot more. Good luck & don't worry!

Is this a complication directly from the sleeve? The reason I ask is, i had an endoscopy 15 years ago and they told me i had bile backup into my stomach.

February 2019 weight loss buds

I thought because I had lots of hair this wouldn't be a problem. WRONG! I'm losing tons of hair! I went and bought vitamins, shampoo & conditioner. I sure hope it doesn't get real bad. -
Help I gained 5 pounds & my surgery is in two weeks!
gabybab replied to fulfillingfavor's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gained 7 pounds from my last nutrition to my pre-op appt with my Dr. Initially he told me no pre-op diet, but told me I needed to do a week of shakes. I was so worried I wouldn't be able to do it. The first day I was so sick. I'm diabetic and was heavily medication/insulin dependent. I called the nutritionist and asked her what to do. Sge said I needed to do a special diabetic diet instead and I got 4 shakes or bars and 1 meal with 4 oz of protein and 1 salad or cup of vegetables. It was very hard, but I got through it. I lost an incredible 16 pounds in 1 week. I know you can do it and it will make your surgery easier for your Dr. Drink lots of fluids and sf items to help fill you up. Good luck!💗 -
Looking good! Congrats!!

Good afternoon, I'm 3.5 post-op and am 54 years old. I've had acne my whole life. I had surgical menopause at 40. Since losing 62 pounds my acne has flaired up. I'm getting in my scalp more than my face right now. I've taken antibiotics several times before. Is this from hormones secreting after weight loss? I can't handle this and may have to go see the Dr. Thanks!
-
Try filling up on no calorie things, diet jello, popsicles, broth etc. To help cut down on hunger. Stay the course and it will be over before you know it. To me the pre-op was harder than afterwards. Its hard, but you will love your results. Congrats and best wishes!💗

The good and the bad - 4 weeks post op
gabybab replied to VeeAurora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Trust me you will get there with the water. I could barely drink after surgery. Now I can chug just as much as before surgery. I'm almost 3.5 months post-op. I'm getting way more fluid in these days. -
It is not uncommon to have this problem with rapid weight loss.

Second month. A full 3 weeks.

I Think I'm Allergic To Carbs

Thank you for always being so helpful! You are a gem!💯 -
I think we all are somewhat fearful of losing our relationship with food, however you will be able to eat, just in smaller portions. I wouldn't trade the food to go back to my failing health.

It could be a yeast infection.

Disturbing video for those using Fairlife milk

I'm going to buy darigold fit milk from now on. Darigold is a local farm to me and my brother works for Darigold anyways. -
I Think I'm Allergic To Carbs

I used the above calculation of weight ÷ 2.2 x .8 and it equaled 100 grams. Is that too much fluffy? I weight 277 right now. -
Way to go!
