:rolleyes2: Well, I should have started this blog 2 years ago when I was banded, but alas, I didn't. I was banded March 31, 2006. I started @ 250#, lowest point has been 188, back up to 206. I had some issues w/ my band about 8 months ago or so. Something got stuck which started the awful PB cycle, swelling etc...anyway, it got to the point where anything I ate was coming back up. So I had some fluid removed. I really don't remember how much was taken out but I went down to 1.8 cc on a 10 cc medium band. So....here I am about 8 months later and almost 20# heavier because I DIDNT follow the band guidelines. I got lazy. I have to really stop and think.. OK I went through this major surgery to get healthy and now what am I doing! So, I went back to Dr. Snow last week and got a fill to 2.1 cc. So far so good. Feeling the restriction, no complications. Today is Super Bowl Sunday and my fill was on Wednesday. So, in 5 days I'm down 3 pounds. I am happy. I am again getting on track. I am going to start blogging regularly (hopefully) just as an accountability measure for myself and to have emotional release. Also, because if anyone chooses to read this blog I want to have a positive impact on someone else who has been banded. Being overweight is torture for the mind, body and soul. I am not a vain person. I just want to be healthy. So, the journey begins again..........Stay tuned!

favorite foods you can no longer eat

OHHHH, I also forgot to mention, I do enjoy a slice of pizza now and again but I just don't eat the crust. I scrape the toppings off and eat them slowly and in small bites. Satisfies the pizza craving and fills you up. I usually go for either just plain cheese with extra sauce or a veggie pizza. YUMMO! -
favorite foods you can no longer eat

Hi, I too was afraid of what I was going to have to "give up" but those things are what caused me to get into my obese state! So, now, my philisophy is everything in moderation and, if it doesn't work, don't eat it. My favorite is spaghetti. I still eat it but I chop up the noodles very fine after the sauce is added and still eat small bites. It goes down fine. Bread, I can only eat the very crispy parts and only in small amounts. You get the basic idea. So, again, everything in moderation, follow the band guidelines for eating and keep the protein high, fat and carbs low!! Hope this helps! -
Dr. Sewell in Southlake

Hi Y'all, I had my surgery with Dr. Robert Snow in Hurst. Dr. Smith is in the same office. I haven't met Dr. Smith but I ADORE Dr. Snow. He is great. I think fills are about $200. Cindy -
Hi Everyone! I am excited to find this site. I was banded March 31, 2006 in Hurst with Dr. Robert Snow. I started at 246 and am down to 212. My goal weight is 140. I am excited about finally having the chance to get healthy. I have read many of the posts in the different areas. I am having a little problem with mucous but not too bad. I have found there are certain foods I cannot tolerate and I have thrown a few things up but no nausea. I had my first fill on 5/11/06 with 1 cc. I have a medium band and was told it holds 5-6 cc. So far so good but I do notice that I felt restricted for the first few days after my fill and since then I have been hungrier sooner. I have lost 4# since the fill so I guess things are going well. I am working hard to maintaiin low carb high protein intake & if I want something sweet I eat it but the nice thing is now I have 1 cookie instead of the whole package because physically the band will not let me handle more. Cut to the reason why I had the band! I do treat myself occasionally to a Jamba Juice Mango-A-GoGo fruit smoothie but it has a lot of carbs so I only do a small one and only very occasionally. I do feel better since the weight loss and I find that I have a bit more energy. My cloths are starting to get very loose! I love that! Well, enough rambling. I am just taking things one day at a time and with the love and grace from our Lord, I will be successful. By the way, how do you get one of those graphs to post (the one that shows your weight loss and goal etc...)?
