  2. Happy 26th Birthday ashleyb!

  3. I just wanted to check on you. How are you doing?

  4. Really and have you gotten the gastric bypass yet?

  5. hey there women. I have moved onto a new forum there are sooo many people who the band did not work for them. I had my revision on March 1st. And although i was in sooo much pain and a lot more air and gas, so far it's been worth it. I'm 3 wks out and feeling great and I'm down to 184 from 198 on surgery day. I'd say if you get a chance...do it. Here's the forum im on more now...it will help you with your decision....

  6. i am in the same boat! The band has not worked for me. It's been a year Feb 25 and has hardly done a thing. Im too scared to do gastric bypass tho.

  7. he said that 30% of bands will fail. And i fell into that. Idk why but i just can;t get tight enough to do anything. So instead of wasting another year. were converting and i found a thread on another website and this happens sooo much. I wish i would have known about this last year and i would have just had the bypass done. If you dont count your calories and carbs and fat and all that then your going to gain and not loose what you want. And i didn't do that. Hopefully you will have better luck them me!

  8. Oh no...I'm so..sorry to hear that. No way around it, that plain sucks! Did he say why it's a failure??

  9. after my surgery I had a horrible time with constipation. Finally i got diagnosed with IBS. I am using Miralax!! This stuff is amazing! Tasteless and mixes in anything! it's soooo great!
  10. thank you for that link!! It's very helpful.I felt like everyone was attacking me on my post! gezzz. but i appreciate you thinking to find and give me that link!!!! Good luck in your journey.

  11. Ok... let me clear up all the unknown's I thought i had said this all before but i will say it again just so everyone is on the same page. I have had 8 fills at most 2cc and the least .5cc at a time i have 7 cc in there right now. And i do not have a leak, he's checked. when i was too tight at one point he only took out .5cc and ever since then I have not gotten enough restriction which i don't understand bc if i was so tight before why then am i not now. when i have at least 3 cc more then what i had when i was too tight! i dont get it. so that's what that's all about. I can eat anything, everything, and a lot at one time. I have to stop myself!
  12. my ideal weight is 107 and im 195 i haven't updated my ticker for a while. 55lbs i would be happy but that's not my ideal weight. I get usually 1cc every time i go in for a fill, i was restricted once so much that i couldn't drink anything and then had .5 cc taken out and ever since then Im not restricted at all! The last time i was there i had 7cc in and he took 5cc out and they want to leave 2 cc in there so he said that's what i should have so doesn't look like there's any leaks!!! idk what to do. I dont want to waste my time with this band if it's gonna restrict me. he said 30% of bandsters wont be restricted and the band fails, and they get converted to the bypass and he's trying to save me another year of work for no results. He's very down to earth surgeon and is also a soldier in the Army with my husband. I don't think he's doing it for a new car(in a previous post) thanks for your thoughts!!
  13. I've had 8 fills absolutely no restriction. I go to the gym everyday jog a mile plus work my arms to tighten them up, I've been eating carrots and celery for lunch while im at work, apples as well everyday. and eating oatmeal for Breakfast or eggs and then dinner of course I dont eat fast food often maybe once a month, i don't drink pop.... My husband is military and is getting out of the army in july of 2011 Our insurance covers the surgeries 100% and so i have a limited amount of time. If i want this surgery i gotta get it done soon, cause if i put it off for another year and only loose 10lbs or so and end up having the surgery we will be outta the army and wont be able to Pay 15000 for it, even if we have insurance it's gonna cost us outta pocket. it's a lot to think about!
  14. I'm almost a year out...march 3rd is my anniversary of the lap band. I've lost 18lbs. About 17% of my excess body weight. My surgeon thinks it's going to be a failure. Soo he wants to convert me to a gastric bypass. I've thought about it a lot and was gonna have the bypass last year but then chickened out at the last minute and got the lap band. So i go back in 2 weeks to give my for sure answer. Could have the surgery as soon as next month. ***THOUGHTS***
  15. thank you!! i actually went to the dr yesterday and he said my band is considered a failure. He thinks i should convert to a gastric bypass. So i go back in 2 weeks to give my answer. Im worried about it. but I think im gonna have it done.
