Hi Cathy, I did have the GB done on thurs. the 1st, cant tell much right now because I am only on liquids...the surg was not bad, no worse than the sleeve and maybe less because there was no port to remove....I only lost 20lbs with the sleeve, and regained it back so I am so scare of "what if it doesnt work"...I know everyone tells me it will, but after the sleeve, I will not take anything for granted...I am almost 57, and I didnt want to wait any longer, want to start having a healthy life before I am tooooo old...LOL......Honestly I could not longer take the reflux.... another person I know in her 50's is having it done sept.19th...she sounds more like you, her stomach was bent in half and they removed scar tissue but she still has a stricture in the middle, so all her food sits on the top of her stomach... I wish you the best of luck and when you decide it will be because you know you cant handle it anymore....PM me anytime...xoxox

yeah mine is leaking from the hole, I had to change it 3x today!

Im not sure what you mean by plaster, I have a drain, it is draining pink have some drainage from the hole in my stomache, but it is all pink or red..not any sores either?

I go to soft foods after 1 week then puree in 1 week....I could eat anything warm and not sweet right now...

hope you feel better soon, think this will be a learning experience....

I have 4 incisions, but the one is large swollen area above it and It is hard...has anyone had a hematoma? Im not sure what it is but cant figure why only one area is like this..large swollen hard and painful..no coloration...thanks

I think 4-6 weeks is the turning pt...gas pains will hopefully get better daily..keep moving...it is the gas they used during surg...xoxox

Oh Grace, I get nervous too...I dont think it is head hunger cuz my girlfriend is staying a couple days with me and I HATE fish any fish or seafood and i told her I was so hungry that if I could I would eat her tuna fish and she said "Nooooo" because she knows how much i hate it....I am almost 4 days post op and I am hoping it gets better... keep me posted....

I know this is redundant on this site, but I am terrified!! I feel like cancelling this surgery...this is my 3rd time around as some of you know and Im scared of the surgery, and of failure...this is my last hope, I did do well with the band, until it prolapsed and then gained 40 lbs back...but the sleeve did not work for me, so is the 3rd time a charm....Oh God I hope so...I just want to start living my life again...Im not a spring chicken anymore, I will be 57 in Nov...The surgery itself scares the crap out of me, but the though of failing again is just as scary.....Im suppose to be eating my last solid food this morn..for weeks and I dont have an appetite...Ha...isnt that ironic.... Sorry for the complaining, I am just really really scared...

Thanks again gc..I am so glad you are reaching your milestones, I guess because I had wt loss surgery prior to this I had reached a normal A1C 5 yrs ago and all my meds were reduced or eliminated...now it is a question of getting my wt in check for any future potential problems and for my arthritis..knees. back, and neck...I am going to look for the fuel band and i think it would be interesting to see how many calories i can burn once I can walk some distance. I really appreciate all the feed back and advice i get on this site..yours included,...I will try to keep the numbers on the scale secondary to other goals, I think your right, Its just hard sometimes, especially being a woman...thank you for everything, and I think when i list my goals on my signature It will be non numerical goals!! good luck gc and I hope to talk to you again in the future. take care, It is good to read positive quotes!

Thanks gc, noted. I do have a pedometer, and of course I did this for my health first and foremost,, but i really cant imagine anyone having GB and not getting on the scale...Not sure what a fuel band is, let me know because any little bit helps!

I am home today and other than being a little sore, i feel ok...Actually Im starving...does anyone know if this is normal...I thought I would lose my appetite?..You guys are great...without this forum, I dont know what I would do...I have a JP drain and 4 incisions..I weighed 2 lbs more today than the day of surgery, i see here this is normal...hope it starts to come off soon..I go for my post op on the 9th...hope to start moving the scales down then...LOL....

I am still in the hospital,being discharged tomorrow. He did a hiatal hernia repair as well, all is well so far..I am hungry!! Can you believe it, hope I have good restriction when I am able to eat solids! Will update tomorrow when get home,,, thank you very much again for your support,...

Oh no, the PA just told me I can never EVER, take NSAIDS again...really..??? I have terrible arthritis all over my body, just had a bone taken out of my hand ....she said not even one ever..but my other drs told me to take 800 mgs of ibuprophen every 6 hrs every day to keep the inflammation down...The PA said i can take celebrix as needed with a PPI...Please if anyone else is facing this issue please tell me what your doing to manage it....I am really worried about this...ty
